“Why don’t I wear this one?” Ji Ziming removed a gray outfit from the cabinet as he looked at the woman questioningly. “I’ve never worn this at work before. Those women—”

“Their eyes are really sharp.” Pei Ge shook her head and did not agree with the man’s actions. Having been in the real-estate industry for many years, she could easily tell that, other than selling houses, those female employees loved gossiping.

“They’ve been working here longer than you, and since you’re presently the center of attention, your every action is more eye-catching than those male idols to them.”

“I’m not.” She denied outright, took the gray outfit from him, and said calmly, “How you’re doing is your matter, and even if you’re liked by those female employees, it has nothing to do with me.”

“You’re still insisting that you’re not worried about me.” The man laughed and pinched her chin; when he used more force, her elegant face turned red as she pouted. The man was attracted to this adorable look of hers. “Woman, are you jealous right now?”

“Who’s jealous? I’m not.” She swung her hand and threw the Armani attire onto the sofa. She then supported the table with her left hand and pressed her tummy with her right; the painful look on her face made the man’s heart ache.

“I’m unsuitable to go, then; I’ll go get someone to buy it for you.”

“Who will you get?”

Her worry was not without logic. Since she was new to Red Star, she really had no idea who else she could get to run this errand other than Cheng Liqing.

“Cheng Liqing.”

The moment he said this, she shot him a cold look. “You want to get that guy?”

She asked again. “He is a man; how will he know these things.”

“Don’t be anxious; if he doesn’t know, surely, there’ll be someone who does. He has many female subordinates, after all. Anyone is fine.”

“Are those people trustworthy?”

“Why not?” The man was unfazed. He walked to the table, picked up the phone, and dialed the manager’s direct line. It was picked up in less than two seconds, and stammering, with a hint of fear, was heard from the other end.

“Sir, is anything the matter?”

“Get a female manager to my office right now.”

“Female manager?” Cheng Liqing doubted if he had heard it correctly. Rumors had it that the man was a playboy, but it seemed that the latter’s wife was still in the office. Perhaps his big boss could not wait anymore in his hunger, so he was no longer pretending?

“That’s right; a female manager.” Ji Ziming had no idea about the manager’s present thoughts. He merely wanted a female manager to come over and buy his woman’s needs so he did not consider much.

“Alright, sir; I’ll get the female manager to head to your office now.”

Cheng Liqing hung up, left his office, and beckoned his female secretary to him.

“Jingjing, your good days are here. The CEO wants you to go to his office right now.”

He sniffled before looking at her. This woman right here had the charisma to make a thousand men smitten. As one of the best employees in Red Star, he did not doubt her capabilities. As long as she stood there, men would naturally follow. They would even give up all their a.s.sets and even go bankrupt for her.

There were two types of women in the world who could receive men’s love and money without effort: One was the type who took advantage of men to survive and another was the sort to be motivation for men to live. Bai Jingjing was the latter.

“Don’t forget about me by then.” He caressed her arm; her skin was fair and supple. If he could touch her once more, he would not mind resigning from Red Star.

The distaste that flashed across the lady’s eyes had gone unnoticed to the manager, who was so engrossed with her figure.

Her smile was akin to the spring breeze. “Manager, look at what you are talking about; if I’m really promoted, it’s all your merit.”

“Jingjing really likes to joke. Everyone here is well aware of your capabilities; I don’t spend much effort teaching you.”

Cheng Liqing knew his place, and the way he looked at this lady slowly returned to normal. He understood deep down that he could not touch this poppy flower and could only look at her from afar.

Cheng Liqing pounced on the right opportunity to hint that she should not kick him to the curb once he outlived his usefulness to her. If she dared to do this, it would show how vicious she was and remind the person behind her.

Moreover, the big boss did not mention why he was looking for her and whom he was looking for. Thus, he merely sent the most experienced and capable woman in the office there to try.

Bai Jingjing smiled lightly in response to the manager’s words. After tidying her clothes, she entered the elevator and headed straight to the CEO’s office on the highest floor.
