18 Chapter 18:

"The mage that is blinding our way to Huntress Nava is very strong. They are stronger than the both of us. At least in the field of tracking, but that's still saying a lot." High Priest Ivan tells me with an impressed look when I growled and let my hands fall down.

"There must be something we can do. This mage is preventing me from finding my mate." I snarl loudly, the sun going down.

"I can help." Faye startled both of us with her presence while Ari grinned at me proudly.

"You don't h"

"Please. Nava's done so much for me, without her my child would have died along with this little one." Faye a.s.sures me, patting Ari's head softly and motioning her to go back inside. She quickly ran inside, a new little cape flying around her.

"Are you sure?" High Priest Ivan asks her, placing a hand on her arm as she smiled and nodded softly.

"I won't travel with you both, but I will help you get through this mage's defenses. I'm too big to be running around anyway." Faye points out, her belly starting to grow but not nearly as large as my mother was when she had my brothers. She was maybe three months along but the b.u.mp was already making her whine in pain.

We stood in a circle again, holding our hand to the ground before concentrating for Nava's presence. I closed my eyes searching for her while the mage preventing us push us back with little ease.

"Little s.h.i.+t." High Priest Ivan cursed quietly making me chuckle, feeling the same irritation.

All three of us were forcing our energy into finding Nava or breaking the wall that we didn't even realize that the mage who was preventing us from finding her forced all three of us in a vision.

"What th-"

"Master will be very angry if he finds out I am talking to you." A small timid voice says quietly, barely loud enough for us to catch. I glanced around the vision, noticing a small and dirty girl standing in the center with her arms outstretched.

Chains were wrapped around her wrists and neck, preventing her from doing much while Faye stepped forward and held her hand out.

"It's okay. We won't hurt you." She tells the girl when High Priest Ivan scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Speak for yourself." He grumbled, the dirty girl staring at him in fear while Faye sent him a sharp look.

"Dad. Not the time." Faye warns him when looking at the girl again. "What's your name, honey?" She asks the dirty girl as the girl straightened her arms around her, the chains rattling around her.

"My master calls me Khole..." She whispers quieter this time. "He's coming back." The girl's fearful hazel eyes looked at each of us.

"Who's coming back, Khole? Who is it?" Faye asks in a soft voice when the girl retracted her arms quickly.

"Master. He's come to hurt the sad girl again." She says really quiet while holding herself. "I'll let you through my barrier, but please. Save me." She pleads to us as we all shared a look.

"You are the mage that is preventing us from coming through?" High Priest Ivan questions her before the dirty girl nodded with frightened eyes.

"It's the only thing I know. I can't defend myself." She tells us while I ran my hand through my hair, remembering her mention a sad girl.

"Does the sad girl have long black hair and dark skin?" Her eyes glanced over at me before nodding with an upset look.

"She's be-" The girl stopped talking, seeing something while her breath quickened. "Hurry. He knows. H-" The three of us were thrown out of the vision before I gasped and held my head. Faye stumbled back into High Priest Ivan making him frown deeply and place her in a chair.

"That girl won't be able to hold us a place to get in for long if they know she contacted us. We must hurry." High Priest Ivan said as we both searched for a way in, a large opening for the both of us.

"Got her. Let's go." I reached over for his arm before teleporting us where Nava was.

"YOU STUPID GIRL!" Andrew roars, a loud crack sounding from beside me making me flinch and feel bad for the mage. "f.u.c.k!" He snarls loudly, the blindfold covering my eyes by not my ears.

"The girl was mumbling to something but we weren't sure! We're s-"

"Shut up!" Andrew yells before grabbing my arm making me cry out and flinch from him again. Tears were still running down my face from my discovery that my parents have caused the death of my family. "Pathetic! f.u.c.k! G.o.d d.a.m.n it!" Andrew snarls again while shoving me away and causing the chair I was tied up to, to fall on the ground.

Another sharp cry of pain left me as my head throbbed from hitting the ground, a piece of the chair was cutting into my leg and making me bleed. None of them made an effort to pick me up when I continued to listen to Andrew pace around the cell.

"f.u.c.king mage... She contacted the coven or pack. I don't know but they are coming now." He said out loud, giving a swift kick making me whimper in pain. "John. Camber. Both of you make sure she doesn't escape. If she does, I will kill you both myself." He threatens them, giving one more hard kick into my stomach before walking away.

My ribs burned in pain as I felt my blood stain the white s.h.i.+rt I was wearing. The wolf's bane in my system making all my movements slow and it was growing harder to understand what they were saying.

"But what about you?! W-"

"I am leaving! If those f.u.c.kers come, kill them! That easy! If she dies then I am expecting another child from you otherwise you die, so she better not die!" Andrew snarls before slamming the door shut and barking orders at people outside of the room.

My body throbbed with the pain of being kicked but I could help but a laugh leave my lips. I heard footsteps coming over to me before lifting me off the ground and forcing my face up, pulling the blindfold off and taking the rag out of my mouth.

"What are you f.u.c.king laughing at?!" My father roars at me but it didn't shake off the smile on my face.

"My Levi is going to f.u.c.king murder you," I said confidently before he hit me in the face as hard as he could causing me to laugh again. I knew I should scared of what he could do but I wasn't.

Levi was coming.

I felt him coming closer.

"Shut up." My father snarls, tying the blindfold over my eyes and retying the rag around my mouth. I knew I couldn't see his expression but I was smiling like a crazy person and I didn't care.

My parents were going to get everything they had coming.

My Levi would save me.

He would come for me.

〰 Levi 〰

I felt her nearby, her presence weak but it was there.

Nava...

"Son of a b.i.t.c.h! They're already here!" An a.s.sa.s.sin yells, pointing their gun at High Priest Ivan and I before he summoned a deadly wolf from the ground and order it to kill the a.s.sa.s.sins.

I watched the wolf tear into the a.s.sa.s.sin while High Priest Ivan used his magic to cause the a.s.sa.s.sins to stumble back, giving the wolf the chance to kill.

"Go. I'll deal with these a.s.sa.s.sins and you go get Huntress Nava. They are easy to beat." High Priest Ivan simply said before killing another round of a.s.sa.s.sins making me nod.

"Alright. If you find the leader-"

"I'll lock him up. You have my word." He nods to me this time as I darted for Nava's weak energy, using it to make a trail. I knew that the girl mage we spoke to was either out or dead since it was easy to breeze through the area.

If she had been awake and taking orders... I knew it'd take me a long time to figure out where Nava was.

Thankfully she reversed on our side, but that doesn't mean we can trust her.

It may be a play.

Quietly, I brushed by a few doorways and found her energy strongest inside a room that was closed off. There were some noises and I could hear the soft laughter of a familiar person.

Nava.

Without thinking, I kicked down the door and saw her tied up in a chair. She was bleeding on her head, mouth, and leg causing my chest to tighten. There were bruises on her body and the blindfold she had was soaked with blood.

Her white dress was stained in her blood making me clench my fists.

Nava...

"You shouldn't be here, boy." A sharp voice says before a fist came into my face knocking me back against the wall. I rubbed my sore jaw, glaring up at the person when my eyes widened at the people standing in front of me.

Nava was yelling something but her gag caused it to only sound like mumbles. Her parents stood in front of me with a daring look when I felt my body tremble.

"W-What are you both-"

"Finish him, John. He's an easy target and will cause our daughter to grow heartless again. It's good that he's here honestly. Good girl, Nava." Her mother patted Nava on the head making her flinch.

Her parents were involved...?

"My pleasure, mate." He grinned darkly before pulling out one of his knives and thrusting it down on me but I was quick to throw up my s.h.i.+eld and kick him away.

A bright light s.h.i.+ning from the room when the girl mage from earlier shoved Nava's mother and threw up a s.h.i.+eld around herself and Nava. The girl's eyes were bleeding and her hands were shaking terribly, but she remained standing and holding her chained hands out.

"You f.u.c.king, pet! Andrew is going to murder you when he finds out!" She screamed, hitting the barrier and making the small mage grit her teeth.

"I can't hold it up very long." She tells me, her weak and battered body already growing limp while Nava's father threw another punch at me.

I dove away and threw a gust of fire at him, his scream reaching around the halls when I pinned him against the wall. The rock and wood on the walls twisting and turning to hold him against the wall while he snarls loudly and thrashed around.

"John!" Nava's mother forgot the young mage, rus.h.i.+ng to her mate's side as the girl dropped to the ground. The defenses around Nava disappearing, the young mage hurting herself on the ground while I tore my jacket off and tucked it over the girl.

Nava thrashed in the chair, trying to say something but it wasn't working at all before I tore off the gag.

"Look out!" She yells while a sharp pain came from behind making me lash out at her mother. My shoulder throbbed in pain, blood coming from the wound but it was the least of my worries.

"How th-"

"We are old, boy. We know all the tricks." Nava's father tells me, cracking his free fists when his mate held the bleeding knife. My body felt weak from the injury but with the ladies needing my help, I couldn't just stop.

"Please. Don't kill him. Don't kill him Mom, Dad. You already took away Barack, Lily, my unborn child. Please for the love of G.o.d, don't take him away from me. Please..." Nava pleaded, tears running down her face as looked at them horrified.

"You did that...?" I question them while her mother chuckled and twisted the knife.

"Of course. It's gonna happen again too. Your death will take her sanity. Then she'll be the league's!" Her mother laughed s.a.d.i.s.tically before lunging towards me, her sparkling dress coated in blood.

I jumped away, throwing a spell towards them when Nava's father grabbed my cape and threw me to the ground making me groan loudly. Nava's cries didn't matter to them while I stood up and dropped the cape on the ground.

"You're gonna be a whole lot easier to kill. Not like Barack." Her father comments with a bored look when lunging towards me again, his knife hit the wall beside me as my training with Zavier kicked in.

I s.n.a.t.c.hed his wrist before spinning around and slamming her father into the wall, a sickening crunch sounded so loud that it made Nava cry again. Her father groaned loudly, his knife slipping from his hold.

Without another thought, I s.n.a.t.c.hed the knife from the air before it hit the ground and thrusted it into his stomach causing him to groan loudly. I pulled the knife from his stomach, grabbing his head before slicing his throat open.

"NO!" Nava's mother screamed, s.h.i.+fting into a wolf and diving towards me when I dropped her mate and knife.

We both went through the wall, much of the plaster breaking underneath me while the large brown wolf hovered over me. Her fangs hung close to my face as I kicked her from underneath, sending her to the floor beside me.

"LEVI! LEVI PLEASE ANSWER ME!" Nava screamed, her cries breaking my heart when the wolf snarled loudly and dove for me again. I wrestled the wolf, trying not to have my throat torn out since I kinda needed that as she snapped furiously at me.

Nava continued to scream for me as I shoved her off me and scrambled for the gun next to me. Nava's mother roared angrily, lunging for my shoulder and biting down on it making me yell out in pain.

I pressed the gun against my shoulder before shooting it. The pain seared through my entire existence while her mother went deadly still behind me, her canines loosening on my shoulder causing me to shove her off.

"LEVI! LEVI!" Nava screamed frantically as I held onto my shoulder and stood up, seeing her thrash in the chair she was tied up to. "Levi! Please! Please answer me!" She cried when I felt myself unable to answer her, stumbling my way through the walls.

I couldn't will myself to say anything.

Not right now.

"Levi... I swear to G.o.d if any of you f.u.c.king killed him I am going to murder you all!" She screams angrily when letting her head hang. "I'm sorry, Levi... I should have told you why I wanted to return to my home... I didn't want to wait for Barack... I truly didn't mean to hurt your feelings but I... I couldn't tell you that I am trying to let everything go because I returned to let that old life go. I want to try things with you but..." She stopped for a moment, her nails digging into the chair. "But you aren't f.u.c.king answering me!" Nava snarls making me laugh and run my hand over her long black hair.

"Sorry, mate. I was kinda hobbling over here." I tell her with a happy smile as I heard someone running down the hallway. Her fingers gripped at my loose s.h.i.+rt when I quickly worked on the ropes around her wrists.

"Levi. Someone's com-"

"Is Huntress Nava alright?" High Priest Ivan asks me and noticed the small mage beside me. "Is young Khole alright?" He questioned walking into the room and kneeling down to the young girl.

"I don't know if Khole is alright, but Nava is... okay," I answer as I tore the bonds off her wrists and carefully worked on her legs, seeing one of the hurt.

"Levi-"

"Keep it on. You... wouldn't like what's happened." I said softly, holding her hand over the blindfold as she nodded and left it on.

She'd be upset at what I've done to her parents.

It's better to keep her from seeing such a thing.

"Ah. That hurts." She whimpers, holding onto my good shoulder when I reached for a knife nearby and sliced it quickly. "Didn't I just say that hurt?" Her voice sounded a little amused but pained as I cut her other ankle bounds.

"Sorry." I mumble, reaching her and picking her up while standing up and noticing High Priest Ivan was waiting for me.

"We must hurry. The leader escaped before I could find him so I came to see if you needed help, but you seem to have everything under control." He nods to me when I nodded with an unsettled expression.

How could her own parents do this to her...?

"Levi... Can we go now? I want to return with you now even if that means magic time." She jokes humorlessly as I sighed and leaned my head onto her shoulder.

I couldn't get over the fact that her parents could do such a thing. How they murdered her whole family and tried killing me just for the fact to make their daughter heartless?

It's so unsettling...

"Okay..." I murmur finally, her hands running through my hair while she pressed her cheek on my head.

"I'll teleport us all since I have the most energy." High Priest Ivan offers, grabbing my shoulder and teleporting us away from the place.
