76 A Perfect Hot Cocoa

Mi Rong had been curious as to what was on the third floor. It didn't seem like many people would go there as well.

Now, Jun Kai is taking her there? But what could be up there?

Her questions were soon to be answered.

When the escalator doors were open, a beautiful night scenery appeared in front of Mi Rong's eyes.

They were inside a clear gla.s.s room. In the middle of the room was a long dining table and beside it was a small bar area.

Different types of drinks were placed neatly in rows on the shelf from tea to hot cocoa. Then, the whole room was decorated into a luxurious café.

If Xia Yun was to be here, she would be freaking out. Although she has her own café, she still enjoys visiting many other places.

However, this place looks like it hasn't been used for a very long time. Not that it was untidy, but it looked like it was abandoned and left like this. It did not look lively anymore. Its glory that was once here was slowly fading.

Jun Kai had walked out of the escalator first. When he realized the person he came with was not following him out, he stopped and turned around. "Are you not coming?"

"Huh? Oh." Mi Rong was woken from her thoughts.

"Dreaming again huh?" Jun Kai's tone was arrogant and was not in a teasing manner at all.

Mi Rong rolled her eyes. This boy seriously needs a lesson.

She changed the topic and asked, "What is this place?"

Jun Kai's steps stopped. "This place is the Gla.s.s room. It used to be my grandfather's favourite place." As he spoke, his back was facing Mi Rong and only the side profile of his face was facing her.

Mi Rong became quiet.

It seems grandma Feng would not like to come here often, afraid old memories would resurface. This dining table was big enough for 10 people. It could probably fit the whole Feng family.

While Mi Rong was still lost in her thoughts, Jun Kai had already walked behind the bar. He stroked the shelves and thought of the past.

His grandfather used to bring him here and teach him how to make drinks. He would make tea for his grandmother and pretend to be a bartender.

"Care to have some hot chocolate?" Jun Kai looked up and asked Mi Rong.

"Huh? Oh sure." Mi Rong replied simply.

"You can wait outside; there are some seats out there."

"Alright."

Mi Rong pushed the door and the cold night wind brushed past her. Her blue dress flattered with the wind and the chill brushed past her bare arms.

However, she did not mind the coldness. She hadn't been in this kind of weather since she came here. The scent of fresh air and rus.h.i.+ng wind blew past her.

She closed her eyes and slowly walked outside. A smile was placed on her face.

Jun Kai watched as Mi Rong walked outside. She was acting strangely, but she seemed much more relaxed.

He then turned his attention to the cocoa machine. The machine that had not been used for a very long time awakened once again.

Roasted cocoa was put in the machine and it began grounding the cocoa into small pieces.

Jun Kai then poured the hot water that had been boiling beside into the machine. Slowly the water dissolved into the cocoa pieces and hot cocoa came out into the cup. The machine had already filtered the cocoa bits and all was left was to add the sweetness and fresh milk.

Jun Kai was an expert at making hot cocoa because it used to be one of his favourite drinks back them.

With his big hands, he carried the cups outside; one in his right and the other in his left. It was just in time that Mi Rong turned her head around to check on Jun Kai.

Once she saw he was coming, she quickly opened the door for him. Jun Kai settled the cups on a small table.

Then, his tall figure sat down on one of the benches. "Please." Jun Kai invited Mi Rong to join him.

She then sat down in front of him. Her eyes went back and forth between Jun Kai and the hot cocoa. The aroma was traveling everywhere. She never knew he could make this so well, hm.

Mi Rong picked her cup up and gently took a sip. Hot cocoa was best in this kind of weather.

Watching Mi Rong enjoy the drink made Jun Kai happy. "Do you like it?"

"Hmm, it doesn't taste like any other cocoa. It is rich and not too overpowering. It's just right from the temperature to its taste. What machine did you use? Xia Yun could use one of them."

Jun Kai was out of words.

Did she think that he used the machine to do all of this? If it weren't for him knowing the proportions to this drink then it would have never been like this.

Mi Rong had offended Jun Kai without knowing. She thought all the drinks these days came from machines. Only her tea that she brews were not.

However, seeing Mi Rong being unfazed with what she had said made Jun Kai understand that she really thought it came from the machine and not him.

Sigh, how outdated is she huh?

Jun Kai scoffed once and spoke proudly, "Even if there were 10 machines, you wouldn't be able to get hot cocoa like this."

When Jun Kai finished, Mi Rong was slightly confused. What did he mean?

"Sigh, what I mean is that I made this hot cocoa and n.o.body will be able to make it like this. Not even a machine or your friend."

Oh, so that's what he meant, but he didn't have to speak like he was angry, "Good job." She half-heartedly spoke the two words and took another sip.

Sigh.

Maybe he should get into his intentions. Jun Kai then slowly asked, "Your necklace, where did you get it from?"
