34 Boss Is Flustered

It was a small village and almost everyone was in their homes doing their separate things. Only the lights from the light poles were s.h.i.+ning the way for Mi Rong to walk back to her place.

Xiao Bai had long left to do his so-called "business". She was now alone, or was she?

Just as she was walking, she had sensed another presence tagging behind her.

Although the other person kept a distance from her, she was sure that there was someone definitely trailing her. To not expose herself, Mi Rong merely continued to calmly walk as if nothing happened. However, her senses were as clear as ever.

She calculated of all the possibilities and who it could be and the only guess she could think of was none other than the Jun Kai. It was truly troublesome.

Mi Rong had, in fact, scheduled a meeting with her team at a house a block away from Xia Yun's home for their upcoming auction. However, now, it seems like she would have to head straight to Xia Yun's house and postpone it all. Mi Rong could not help but roll her eyes.

Sigh, this Jun Kai has become very sensitive even more than before. He's even sent a spy now. Tut!

However, little did she know that more over than the spy sent by Jun Kai, someone else was following behind the spy.

...

Mi Rong had kept her calm the whole way back to Xia Yun's house.

Ding Dong.

"Cominggg" A voice replied from inside.

In a couple of minutes, the door opened and Xia Yun came out with flour all over her ap.r.o.n. Some flour was also on her small face. She gave Mi Rong a big smile and welcomed her friend in.

When the door closed, Xia Yun asked "I thought you said you would be back a little later? No?"

"I was but had a change of plans. What are you making this time?" Mi Rong was used to seeing Xia Yun with an ap.r.o.n and a face dirtied with flour these past few days.

"I'm trying out the jingly cheesecake from j.a.pan. I'm trying to make it match with our special tea, but still struggling ugh." Xia Yun's special tea was the tea she and Mi Rong had come up together with.

It was a cherry blossom tea that would bring out the scent of the flower and would give out a special clear tea flavour. This tea was great with deserts and had a mix of the tea where Mi Rong had come from. Mi Rong's mother had pa.s.sed on the secret ingredients to her. Whenever Xia Yun asked where did she get it from, she simply winked.

As they were approaching the kitchen, "Hmm, Xia Yun it smells really nice." Whenever Xia Yun baked anything, the house would always smell of all the deliciousness, cosiness and loveliness scent.

...

On the other side

The spy sent by Jun Kai's subordinate was sitting at a clock tower close to Xia Yun's house. He was sitting down and was watching every detail in case there was anything suspicious. The spy had also opened a box filled with food packed by his mother. Before receiving this mission, he was dining with his mother when his brother had abruptly come and told him to take this task, tsk tsk. So, his mother had to pack all these delicious food especially for him and could only tell his brother off from disturbing their time together. However, as he was thinking of these matters and munching some food, there was a sudden voice behind him.

"Kun Li." The voice called out emotionlessly.

Kun Li was in shock and had nearly fallen from the rooftop. If it wasn't for the other person catching his shoulder in time, he would have not seen the next Sunrise. His martial arts were high, but he never thought that someone would be able to sneak up on him.

Asides from...

Kun Li swiftly got up on his feet ready to launch on the uninvited guest. However, when he turned to face the newcomer, he was at a loss of words.

It was his boss.

"Uhh, boss?" Kun Li's voice was small.

Why was his boss here? Was his boss checking up on him? This option seemed impossible, never in a million years would our boss check up on us. However, with some more thought, Kun Li remembered the other person, miss Mi Rong.

Jun Kai did not go around the bush and simply said, "You can go back now. There's nothing left here."

Kun Li was still unsure with his boss' change of decisions, "What about miss Mi Rong, boss?"

"Forget about her. You go back to your mother and tell your brother to report to me the next morning." Jun Kai spoke to Kun Li whilst looking at another direction.

Fu Li was Kun Li's big brother. The pair were 2 years apart and were the top-secret guards for Jun Kai.

To the world, they were infamous for their wicked skills among there opponents, but n.o.body had ever seen their faces or who they were or where they came from. Only a name was given to them as the Long twins. Everyone had thought that they were twins because of their famous and unbeatable teamwork.

However, little did the world know that above the brothers' skills was their boss whom no one knew of.

Kun Li was the younger brother and was not good at controlling his expression, "Uh, what do you mean sir, miss Mi Rong, is she no longer suspicious to you?"

Jun Kai became slightly fl.u.s.tered as he had not expected this from his guards. Only this Kun Li would be so blunt. Even more, he had to say everything again, sigh. If he didn't know this boy's character, he would have thought Kun Li was teasing him.

"Kun Li would you please just..." Before he could finish, Kun Li cut him off hastily.

"I totally understood sir! I'll be off now. Uh, I'll give some s.p.a.ce for you sir!" It almost came out as a shout towards Jun Kai as Kun Li spoke like Jun Kai was deaf and dashed off in the night.

When Kun Li was gone, Jun Kai was out of words. What s.p.a.ce did he need? Sigh, he should really give this boy some lessons.

Jun Kai couldn't be bothered any longer and leapt off from the clock tower and went on a rooftop of a house in front of Xia Yun's place and simply sat down alone with the night sky as his only friend.

He used a simple technique on the rooftop and the rooftop became as clean as a newly bought tiles. Then, Jun Kai laid his body down, but his eyes were still focused on the person inside the house.

On the surface, she seemed to have nothing wrong, but his instinct was telling him to not believe it. His years of experience had told him, that something was off. She seemed like a dangerous person but was she dangerous to his family was the only question. His family business, although, doing so well, but it has brought many enemies during the years as well.

It was always better to be safe than regret it later.
