107 Fire

Jun Kai looked up with urgency to the owner of the hand that was stopping him from seeing his grandmother's condition. His eyes were locked on hers and were showing the fragile side to her. Not many would have the chance to see them as his eyes have been as cold as the winter's night.

Seeing the concern in his eyes, Mi Rong carefully spoke to ease the other person, "Jun Kai, I've stopped the bleeding and the ambulance will be here any minute. For now, don't move or touch her, in case of causing further injuries." She knew how worried he was, but she had to place the importance of any mishaps that could happen if they weren't careful.

Jun Kai's eyes became less restless, but his worry was uncontained, "What happened?" His voice that had come out was rather cold just like when Mi Rong found grandma Feng.

"I..don't know." Although she wished she could have answers, Mi Rong was also in the dark. Xiao Bai had not received any news and the guards have yet to report anything. Thus, all she could do was wait with grandma Feng.

The housemaids and everyone else were standing back. None of them dared to go in closer to the pair and just kept quiet.

However, there was still one person who was unlike the rest. The scene that was in front of Xue Li's eyes was like a thorn in her heart. Jun Kai had completely forgotten her who was crouching in pain and went to them first. Although she had only acted like so, she was sure it was convincing to others. She had heard the noise of the door opening and crouched down, knowing who had come. Others would have thought that Mi Rong would have done something, but he did not even look at me!

Why, why was it always like this!? This Mi Rong, she even dared touch Jun Kai's hand!!! Xue Li's hands were clenched into tight fists that her nails were sinking into her palms. She hid her face by facing To her, the pain was a reminder of this account. She would be sure to make use of this pain she felt inside.

Nevertheless, both Jun Kai and Mi Rong were like they were in their own world. The rest were simply bystanders. Jun Kai was about to say something more, but someone had slowly approached them. He was in a casual suit and he was crouched down right beside Mi Rong.

"How is she?" He asked in a calm soothing voice. It was rather warm and had made the cold atmosphere vanish in an instant.

Mi Rong finally remembered the other person that had come with Jun Kai. She faced the other and greeted him to keep her manner between them, "Oh doctor Li, you're also here."

"Hm." His response was short, but his eyes were telling Mi Rong that she had not yet answered his question. Mi Rong was fast and immediately knew what the doctor meant. Since they had been working in the operation rooms together, it was not the first time they understood each other without having to say anything.

Mi Rong slowly told grandma Feng's condition like she was a patient, "Uh, grandma Feng, she's fine. I just did some first aid and…" However, her words were cut off by another.

"No need to talk any longer, the ambulance is here." It was Jun Kai who had interrupted the pair. However, his sentence came out slightly hostile. Nevertheless, Mi Rong did not linger on the topic since she heard the sirens sound. Finally, they would take grandma Feng for a check-up. She took out the golden needles that looked peculiar inside her needle box.

Her movement was fast and when she looked at the two other people that were with her; she was rather confused. These two...they were busy having a staring compet.i.tion. What were they thinking?

The doctor had turned to face Jun Kai since Jun Kai's interruption. The two may have not noticed, but they had been staring at each for quite a while. If it was not for the paramedics running with a brancard had arrived near them, they would not have stopped. Doctor Li gave a lukewarm smile and turned to face Mi Rong, "Do you need any help?"

Mi Rong looked at the hand that was past on to her to help her get up. However, she never felt the need for other's help, so she rejected almost immediately, "Aiyoo, Doctor Li, it's fine. I can get up myself, but thank you." She then got up without anyone's help. Simultaneously, both Jun Kai and the Doctor got up with her.

Only then did they see Xue Li crouching down. Mi Rong was slightly sick of the acting from this girl since no one had done anything to her. Nevertheless, since she was close to the girl, she walked over. As she was about to help the girl up, someone else was faster.

Jun Kai held out his hand in front of Xue Li, waiting to help her up. Seeing someone's hand in her line of sight, Xue Li looked up. Her face showed some signs of surprised and the next moment into appreciation. There were some tears along her eyes and her face was rather pitiful.

Mi Rong was surprised by this girl's action. So, was she truly hurt? Jun Kai was also acting rather weird. However, right in her mind, the only thought that occupied her was grandma Feng who was now being transferred onto the brancard. Seeing the girl was fine, she couldn't care more and was now helping the paramedics.

Just as everything seemed to went on fine, an intense smoke burst out of the window with a loud noise. The sound of gla.s.s being torn apart was heard to everyone around. The next thing that was even more worrisome was the fire coming from one side of the house; confirming everyone's concern.

"Fire!" cried out a housemaid.
