Chapter 315 - Alien

Chapter 315: Alien

They were now in the town of a foreign land, and Yan Wugui felt that something was amiss.

“Hey, the people here seem weird, don’t they?” He leaned toward Lu Mingshu.

“Do you mean that they are zombies?”

“Pui!” Yan Wugui looked at her in disgust. “Are you trying to scare me?”

Lu Mingshu looked back at him with the same expression. “I’m just joking, what’s there to be afraid of?”

“…what I meant is that their cultivation seems different from ours.”

Lu Mingshu nodded. She realized that too. Most of the people in this town were normal citizens. By their expressions and clothing, it was obvious that they didn’t lead a good life here. On the other hand, they met a small group of cultivators. Their clothing looked exquisite and n.o.ble.

What was weird was that the cultivators in this world all had marks on their faces or foreheads. Some represented a beast, while others represented fire or water.

Do all the cultivators in this world need to excite their blood?

Lu Mingshu remembered that the barbarians had markings on them after they excited their blood. However, it was mostly on their arms and other parts of their body instead of the face.

Suddenly, a guy with a mark on his face walked past her, leaving her and Yan Wugui stunned.

He didn’t have any mystic force, so he was a normal person.

So the markings have nothing to do with cultivation?

“Let’s find a place to learn more about this situation,” Yan Wugui suggested.

Lu Mingshu nodded. This place was weird, so it was a good idea to learn more.

They found an inn and went in to ask for a room. But as soon as the shopkeeper heard them, he tapped the table impatiently and said, “Low-cla.s.s room, ten coins per night.”

Lu Mingshu furrowed her eyebrows and Yan Wugui slammed the counter. “Who said we want the low-cla.s.s rooms?”

“Aliens can only stay in low-cla.s.s rooms.” The shopkeeper looked at him disdainfully. “Get lost if you do not want to stay, we are a serious establishment.”

Yan Wugui and Lu Mingshu exchanged glances and could see the surprise in each other’s eyes.

Alien? What’s that?

As they were in confusion, the shopkeeper saw the dagger in Yan Wugui’s sleeve and shouted. “You have weapons with you? Help! Call the police! An alien has weapons with him!”

Before Yan Wugui and Lu Mingshu had time to react, a bunch of people started running toward them.

Both of them fled before they could even get any information.

After losing the people, Yan Wugui crouched down behind a wall and looked at Lu Mingshu, puzzled. “What are aliens? What’s wrong with bringing weapons around? And what the h.e.l.l are they?”

“I’ll go find out.” Lu Mingshu tidied her hair and went off.

But Yan Wugui pulled her back and pointed at her. “You shall stay here and wait for me. Why would I need your help in doing something so simple?”

Yan Wugui then walked off sneakily and left her behind.

Lu Mingshu couldn’t help but laugh at how he walked.

“We are in big trouble,” Yan Wugui said sternly after he came back.

“Why?”

It turned out that, in this world, people were grouped by the seal on their face. It symbolized a blood inheritance; those with a seal were called true humans, while those without were aliens.

“To them, those with the seal are true human beings. Those without a seal have a blood relations.h.i.+p to devils. The aliens have no freedom and are mostly outcasts or slaves.” Yan Wugui then laughed in amus.e.m.e.nt. “What the h.e.l.l is wrong with this world? Those with marks are just like the barbarians and are obviously the next generation of some creature. How are they the true human beings?”

In China, barbarians and mankind might be enemies, but both had the same social status. They simply had different ancestors. But in this world, the difference in ancestor equaled to a difference in social status.

“What about cultivators? Only ‘true humans’ can cultivate?”

“Obviously.” Yan Wugui shrugged. “Why would they allow someone with a low social status to cultivate? That’s why we are in trouble; we have no seal on our faces so we are obviously aliens. If we walk around like this, we will be caught.”

Sounds like h.e.l.l.

Lu Mingshu felt her head hurting.

“Come on, do you have any idea how to get back?”

“Yeah…”

“Well, spit it out then!”

“I have a treasure, but it needs energy….” Lu Mingshu hesitated.

“What energy?”

“Mystic force.”

“What’s the big deal then? Take it out and I’ll give it all I have!”

“Not enough.” Lu Mingshu shook her head.

Yan Wugui stared at her angrily.

“What?” Lu Mingshu looked at him unhappily.

“The reason why you do not want to go back is because you can’t bear to part with me, right?” Yan Wugui laughed evilly.

“…”

“Hey, why are you looking at me like that?”

“I thought that Xie Lianzhen was too full of himself, but you’re even worse.”

“What do you mean ‘full of myself’? This is called knowing my charms well.”

Lu Mingshu rolled her eyes and got back to her point. “We need a lot of energy to make that treasure work, and just the two of us isn’t enough.”

To be more specific, it was called “points.”

When she was a newbie, there weren’t any points for her, so she thought it was mystic force back then. Now, it was obvious that the key to opening up the pa.s.sage was the points.

A while ago, she would have had enough points to come here and go back. But after exchanging for the antidote and the Transformation of Bones previously, she only had a hundred points, which was just enough for her to open it up once. So now, they wouldn’t be able to go back for quite some time.

“Are you being serious here?”

“Of course.”

Seeing her expression, Yan Wugui gulped.

“Do mystic crystals work?”

“I don’t think so.” Lu Mingshu hesitated.

“Don’t tell me we have to go out and earn money now.”

“I’m afraid so.”

By the Heavenly Wheel’s standard, the bigger the impact to this world, the more points she would get.

So, we have to start with the aliens?

There was no reason why one group could cultivate and one couldn’t.

Does this mean that we have to change their standard of living? Please, me and Yan Wugui are still in the Harmonization Realm. It’s impossible.

But how else could I make an impact?

Lu Mingshu sighed dejectedly. It was way more troublesome when one had no goal.

“Ah, who cares about that now. We have to find a place to stay first.” Yan Wugui pointed out. “Heaven never bars one’s way, I’m sure we will find a solution.”

“Okay….”

The good thing about him is that, no matter how difficult the situation is, he is still so optimistic.

Lu Mingshu suddenly thought about Xie Lianzhen. They were the same, yet different. With Xie Lianzhen’s character, he would not like Yan Wugui taking over his body for so long. But he did, so why?
