Sheng Qianmo stretched out his hand and held her in his embrace .

He leaned down on some of her black hair, closed his eyes in comfort, and stayed silent .

It seemed to be the first time that he simply wanted to hold Shu Nuan in his embrace and do nothing .

As for the girl in his arms, she was fl.u.s.tered .

Nuan tried to say something in a whisper .

“What is it?” he asked .

Shu Nuan hesitated for a moment, but then she stretched out her pet.i.te arms and encircled his waist .

Together, they lay there immersed in the starlight .

It was a great, warm feeling .

It felt good enough for her to bear a fantasy: Wen Zhigu probably didn’t know what kind of person Sheng Qianmo was . Zhigu was wrong in thinking that Sheng Qianmo was indifferent to the fate of her and others like her .

The next day, Shu Nuan was in a great mood . Before leaving for the academy, she was hugged by Sheng Qianmo and kissed in front of the door for a long time . In the end, she couldn’t help but ask for mercy .

“I am late…”    

Sheng Qianmo let her go and ordered Li Yuan to take her to the academy .

Upon arriving, Shu Nuan found out that Wen Zhigu was absent . She’d asked for a leave by claiming she was unwell .  

In Cla.s.s 1, Ji Xubai looked a lot colder than usual . He kept finding faults with the students, which made them all feel tense . Shu Nuan had a hard time staying awake during cla.s.s . She was about to lie down for a rest when a few students who’d gone out between cla.s.ses came back . They cast scornful looks at her and whispered with bowed heads .

When Shu Nuan had been in Cla.s.s 10, Sheng Gu had often given her such looks . So, it was clear at once to her what was probably going on…

At that moment, she heard a sarcastic voice from behind her .  

“How shameful! Even though she’s pregnant, she won’t stop coming to the academy… “

As the words fell, some of the students sneered .  

“Shu Nuan’s look was so shameless . Just yesterday she aborted her child, and today she’s already attending, looking the same as ever . ”

A male student with some seniority stood up . He reprimanded,

“Everyone here has the same status . What nonsense is that?”

As Shu Nuan listened, she understood the meaning of their words . She took a deep breath, put down her books, and stood up . She looked at the students who’d criticized her, and asked, “Who told you that?”

“You’ve been to Cla.s.s 10 before . ” [1]

Shu Nuan stared at the one who’d answered before indifferently turning around and leaving .

On the way, many people threw all kinds of mocking looks at her . However, Shu Nuan ignored them all . Pa.s.sing through the long corridor, she arrived at the door to Cla.s.s 10 .

She clearly heard someone inside asking Sheng Gu about her . Then she heard about herself buying musk and aborting a child .

“Didn’t I hear before that the Fourth Prince dotes on Shu Nuan? He even let her, a slave from a defeated kingdom, attend the Yulin Academy . Maybe even the examination results were shady business . Otherwise, how could she suddenly jump to Cla.s.s 1?”

Shu Nuan steadily walked to go stand in front of Sheng Gu .  

The princess frowned and stood up .

“What are you doing–“

But before her words were finished, Shu Nuan let loose a slap on her face .
