Sitting in the carriage Ji Xili took pause . She hadn’t expected to meet Sheng Zhiyu here . She stopped the carriage, and, just as she got off, the prince was coming down from his horse .

“Why are you here?”

The two had spoken almost in unison .

Ji Xili pursed her lips and said nothing more .

Sheng Zhiyu was embarra.s.sed . If it’d been before, he would’ve carelessly made a joke, but he recalled their kiss from the celebration night and felt awkward .

Sheng Zhiyu showed the initiative to speak . “I… I was back to the manor . Where were you going, Sister Xili?”

Ji Xili was silent for a moment, before she whispered, “I was looking for you . ”

Hearing her answer, Sheng Zhiyu froze . He hadn’t expected Ji Xili to come looking for him in person . He was a little worried: worried that she’d ask about his pa.s.sionate kiss that night . He hadn’t dared bring it up with her so far, scared that she’d be angry .
