82 Poison Resistance

She kept the corpse inside the spatial bracelet that her master gave her, but she didn't have any time to take care of them.

When the time was up, the man appeared before her immediately. "I'll bring you back. You can have lunch before resting. Tomorrow, it'll be the same again."

"Ok," Ye Jiao replied softly.

It only took a few seconds for her to arrive back in the house. Thanks to w.a.n.g Jun, she has gotten used to travelling at a speed that her eyes couldn't follow, so she didn't make any ruckus. Some new children were afraid that their faces turned pale.

Ye Jiao got into the building. Different from the breakfast and lunch, the dinner was porridge, so they had to stand in the line to get their portion. She took a bowl and waited patiently for her turn.

'It's tasteless.'

Thinking how these people could survive with these kinds of foods, Ye Jiao sighed to herself. She tried to not think about the taste too much because this would be her meal for the next few months or even years. It would depend on how fast she could reach the first rank.

At night, Ye Jiao would sit down on her bed and practice her circulation while sending more Eon Energy to her body. She wanted to make sure that she didn't have any problem in her body because it would be detrimental to her body.

'It's indeed easier to train.'

Ye Jiao was delighted to find out that it has become much easier for her to train her body. She was sure that by forcing her muscle to work to the fullest, she had allowed her body to be able to absorb more Eon Energy.

The training might be brutal, but it could be said to be the best way to train one's body.

The cycle stayed the same for the next few days, but after a few days, she realized that there was something different.

"They didn't call us today," the other new girl in the room commented.

Ye Jiao was also wondering. Although she had gotten used to wake up before the designated time, the yell still caused her to be surprised at times. This time, they didn't wake them up as early as usual.

"WAKE UP!"

'Oh, it's still there,' Ye Jiao jumped down from her bed before running to the bathroom and washed her face. There was no need to wash her body because it would surely become dirty thanks to the insane practice they had.

However, when Ye Jiao came to the field, she realized that on the table was not the usual meat and bread but a bowl filled with liquid. Her brow creased slightly, but she didn't dare to ask anything.

After the children had walked out, the man started speaking. "Line up based on the time you come here. The youngest one will stay at my left."

The children scurried to their designated place. Ye Jiao followed after her friends to the very left. Her eyes widened when she realized that their number seemed to decrease. It seemed that the training for the past few days had pushed some of them to lose their life.

"You'll have to drink this. Come forward one by one."

Ye Jiao watched the children step forward. They accepted the bowl and drank before returning back to the back of the line. Every line would be given a different bowl from one another.

The first child on her line had only walked for a few meters when he coughed hard.

*cough* *cough*

Spat!

The children sucked up the air when they saw the blood that the child spat out. The kid continued to cough until he stopped moving. One of the men stepped forward and took the kid without saying anything.

"He's dead, right?"

"What's in that bowl?"

The children in her line whispered in a low voice as the second child stepped forward. This time, he seemed to be hesitant, but he still drank the liquid from the bowl. Afterwards, the kid walked to the back. Even though he could walk just fine, it was clear from his expression that he endured great pain.

Ye Jiao watched them carefully. Her eyes landed on the bowl for she finally understood what that was.

Poison!

They were forced to drink poison to develop immunity against the poison. This method was pretty harsh because she could see that the amount of poison inside the bowl was too many. However, this was probably the fastest method to develop immunity.

With the prerequisite that they didn't die first.

Before long a familiar face came to her vision. She could see that Lin Jie was much calmer than the others. He drank the liquid calmly. Even though his face distorted a bit, he still walked unhurriedly. His composed att.i.tude made the children admire him greatly.

'He's not a disciple of a master for nothing.'

When she saw that Lin Jie looked at her with a challenging look, Ye Jiao smirked slightly. It seemed that the boy was unconvinced that she could beat him back then. Very well, she would show this boy that she could still contend against him.

Ye Jiao's turn came as she walked forward. She looked at the bowl for a second before drinking the poison. The liquid gave her an itchy sensation on her throat, but she ignored it as she drank everything.

Turning around, Ye Jiao started to circulate her Eon Energy to ease the pain. The liquid made her feel pain in her stomach. Slowly, she circulated the Eon Energy and allowed the poison to blend into her body. At the same time, she glanced at Lin Jie with a stubborn expression.

However, the two of them soon forget each other as they have to focus on their own condition.

As she walked and stood on the line, Ye Jiao focused her entire attention on the liquid inside her body. There was indescribable pain coming from her stomach, yet she stood quietly to bear with them. She didn't know how much time pa.s.sed when the man told them that they could rest and tomorrow they would train like usual.

'I want to puke.'

Ye Jiao dragged her body to return back to her room. She looked at her bed before dragging her body up. At this time, she really hoped that her bed was the one at the bottom.

That way, she didn't have to climb the stairs.

'I better make sure that my body can handle this.'

With determination, Ye Jiao focused her attention to her body and dissolved the poison into her body. She had to make sure that she would be able to move well tomorrow or the training might send her straight to her grave.

She didn't want to die yet. Dying because of training would be too much for her. She will survive and get out of this place alive.
