283 The Hidden Expert In Chen Kingdom 1

'Ye Jiao must have started moving.'

The stench grew darker and murkier as time pa.s.sed. By looking at the direction where it started, he could guess that Ye Jiao must have begun her ma.s.sacre. Qi Huan stayed calm as killing intent began to emanate from deep within his eyes. He was as calm as he could be when he summoned out his sword.

"Hey, why are you…?"

The surroundings guards were unable to react when they met their end in Qi Huan's blade. The young man looked at them coldly. Some people said that if a master was wrong, the servants could be innocent. Because of that, they would spare the servants but not the master. However, Qi Huan didn't think the same.

When these people chased after Lu Wan and attempted to kill him, who was the one who did it?

It was both the servants and master.

These people became a guard knowing that they would have to do the dirty deeds of the emperor and they still did it. All of them just because they wanted the money. After all, Qi Huan knew very well the amount of money and the privilege the guards of the Imperial Family had. That was something many people l.u.s.ting for, especially those who craved for power and riches.

'Everywhere, it's just the same,' Qi Huan chuckled to himself as he started a fire on the nearby house. As part of the Imperial Family, he knew the dark secret his father had. His family might not want to involve him because they wished for him to stay out of their business, but he still knew. It was something he believed that many other imperial families did to ensure the longevity of their kingdom.

Even though it was not as bad as Chen Kingdom, who forcibly forced someone to submit, it was not that much better.

They also subdued those experts, but because the Qi Family has much better talent and power, they never have to resort this low. They have their own way to make sure the talented never betray them and continue to stay with them. Some of their citizens knew, yet they still supported the imperial family because of Qi Family background.

After all, they understood that the Qi Family was the only reason why Chi Kingdom could flourish. Even if there were some of them who disliked it, they never voiced it out loudly because they feared that they would be targeted. Qi Family members alone were usually far more powerful and talented.

Qi Huan looked at the runaway servants and didn't put much care. Even if they survived, they wouldn't know who they should direct their hatred too. After all, the Imperial Family has too many enemies for their own good.

But, would they even be the Imperial Family without the bloodshed? It was impossible. It was precisely because they had killed so many people that they could finally rise in power. This world is not kind enough to let incompetent people rose to the top with having their hand clean.

Tep! Tang!

The palace was starting to get burnt. With Ye Jiao's action of burning everything, the smoke had begun to fill the entire area. Many people were choking because of the smoke, but Qi Huan himself didn't have much problem. With the Eon Energy layer protecting him, he could walk around just fine.

As Qi Huan stepped into the inner palace area, he sensed sudden danger and raised his sword to block it. His expression showed surprise. It was just a stone thrown in his direction. However, he could only sense it when it was so close to him.

"An a.s.sa.s.sin?"

The calm sound caused Qi Huan to turn in the other direction. His pupil shrunk as he watched the man before him.

It was no other than the advisor that he met before!

The middle aged man didn't look that old. There were some wrinkles around his face, but his eyes were still clear just like the sky. He walked to Qi Huan's place unhurriedly as his grey robe fluttered along with the wind.

'He's too calm.'

Even though the palace was in chaos because of the fire in several places, the man before him didn't look fl.u.s.tered at all. In fact, he looked like he was enjoying himself and the matter in the palace didn't have anything to do with him. His eyes were watching Qi Huan with deep interest as if there was nothing else in this room but this young man before him.

Somehow, the gaze from the advisor made chills run down Qi Huan's spine.

"Who are you?" Qi Huan blurted out.

"Don't you already know who I am?"

"The advisor?"

"Indeed."

Qi Huan's eyes narrowed. The advisor was still looking at him with that creepy gaze. He wished that he could just stab the advisor's eyes, but his current strength wouldn't allow him to do something so reckless. "But you're not just an ordinary advisor, aren't you?"

The advisor didn't reply to Qi Huan's question. He looked at Qi Huan's eyes with a smile on his face. "As I thought, your blue iris is not common."

Ah!

Qi Huan nearly forgot that his blue eyes were not common for people in Chen Kingdom. It was more common in Chi Kingdom because there were a lot of people with the same eye color. But here, there was barely anyone. Most of them have brown irises in Chen Kingdom.

He should have disguised his eyes before if he wanted to come here. He had completely forgotten about it. After all, the most eye catching one that he remembered to hide was only his silver hair.
