209 Departing

Walking out of the cave, she noticed that her movements had caused the young man to wake up.

"Good morning, Zheng."

"Good morning, Ai Jiao," Zheng replied. His golden iris looked straight at the young girl before him as he scrutinized her. It was apparent that the young girl didn't seem to have any qualm for sleeping outside, something that many young pampered geniuses lacked when they were young.

Ye Jiao looked at the young man in confusion. "Why is it your turn to look at me so much? I'm going to cook, you can cook your own food, right?"

"I can," Zheng retracted his gaze and stood up. He cleaned up his bed before walking out of the cave. The two of them started fire on their own and cooked their own meat. Soon afterwards, the area was filled with the enchanting smell of cooked meat.

Ye Jiao finished cooking and put off the fire. She sat down on the ground and started eating, not caring for manners at all. After getting used to living freely without anyone to scrutinize her, her etiquette was slowly being forgotten.

"What do you use when you cook it?" Zheng asked as he picked his own meat.

"Salt."

"It tastes better when you use honey."

"Really?"

"Yes," Zheng cut a part of his meat and handed it to Ye Jiao. "Just try it."

Taking the meat, Ye Jiao understood what Zheng meant. Cooking it and adding honey at the end made the meat taste sweet. It was so chewy inside her mouth, a taste that she rarely found when cooking outside.

"But the salty one is good too," Ye Jiao replied. "If you cook it properly and give enough seasoning, it's not that bad."

Zheng nodded. "I see."

"Want to try too?"

"Sure."

No one would reject free food. Since the two of them wouldn't poison one another, there was no need for them to put on guard continuously. Taking the meat from Ye Jiao, Zheng tasted it. It was not bad. At least, it was far better than what his comrades usually made during his travel.

"it's good."

"Isn't it?" Ye Jiao beamed. "My dad taught me how to make it delicious like this and preserve the Eon Energy inside. I always love it."

"I see."

The two of them didn't chat too much. As soon as they finished eating their food, they cleaned up the place and erased the trace of their presence. Soon afterwards, they departed in the direction of Chi Kingdom.

"By the way, how do you know the location for the other part?"

"This secret manual is always brought by the two head of Bao Fu Organization in the four kingdoms. I recently got the news that he's visiting the branch at Chi Kingdom, so I know the location," Zheng explained.

"There are numerous branches in a kingdom, right?"

"I have insider news."

Seeing how the young man refused to answer, Ye Jiao didn't try to ask deeper. They continued their journey as Ye Jiao soon realized that Zheng traveled at higher speed compared to her. The way he moved made her feel as if she would never be able to catch up.

The difference between rank 2 and rank 3 seemed so large.

"If you're going to slow me down, I'm going to leave you," Zheng remarked when he stopped to wait for Ye Jiao for the nth time.

"We have a deal, right?" Ye Jiao rolled her eyes. She has been trying to catch up with Zheng, but it was so hard. The way he moved seemed to be so fast that it was hard for her to catch up.

In truth, Ye Jiao's speed was already similar to normal Eon Energy Master rank 3. Unfortunately, Zheng was not a normal one and he also used technique that allowed him to move faster. This was the reason why he was able to travel at far higher speed than normal Eon Energy Master rank 3.

"I'm using technique to maintain my speed," Zheng sighed. He threw a pill to Ye Jiao. "Here's Eon Energy Pill rank 3. Eat it to maintain your Eon Energy because we're going to travel for a long time."

"Thank you," taking the pill out, Ye Jiao was stunned to see the perfect pill inside. It was far purer than the one Qi Huan gave to her not long ago. This made her wonder just how large the difference in wealth between her and Zheng was.

Zheng examined Ye Jiao's reaction. "It's too late to regret not killing me."

"I don't really need them so much," Ye Jiao shook her head and put the pill into her mouth. It was quite large, so it was much harder to swallow. She looked at Zheng. "Besides, I don't want to make enemies out of strangers."

She already has too many enemies in the four kingdoms and even outside too. If she tried to take advantage of every person she met, she would only increase their number. It was said that geniuses could take on all kind of challenge, but she didn't want to be the stupid one to invite them to her door.

Living is already hard enough without them creating trouble for her.

"Good point," Zheng nodded his head. "Let's go again."

"Ok."

As they traveled, Ye Jiao fixated her gaze on Zheng's movements. She could see that he seemed to move at high speed yet at the same time not. The way he moved his legs seemed to be peculiar as he moved from one point to another in a split second.

'I think, it should be like this.'

Ye Jiao tried to imitate it and nearly fell on the ground because she tripped on the rock. Stabilizing herself, Ye Jiao tried to do it again and again. Along the way, she would continue to try using it while controlling the amount of Eon Energy she took from the Eon Energy Pill rank 3 that Zheng gave her.

'To the left…I'm a bit too far.'

From the front, Zheng secretly watched Ye Jiao from the corner of his eyes. This technique was hard to learn because of the high rank and the requirement. For him, it was nothing much as he managed to learn it after a few tries. The girl before him managed to learn it in an even more peculiar method.

She didn't even need the manual.

'At this rank, it should be impossible to study without the manual. It seems this girl has the natural talent of observation.'

Zheng executed his movements a bit slower to give Ye Jiao a clearer look as he pondered. While he thought that it was a natural talent Ye Jiao had, it was actually a talent that she polished through constant training. After all, her first teacher was very very very (repeat it by another 999 times) bad at explaining.

She had to learn by observing along with trial and error.
