Qi Huan also did missions, but he did it separately. There was no need for them to do missions together so far because of their rank. Now, it was already winter and snow started to fall. Ye Jiao also had her birthday, so now she had turned 11.

Today, Ye Jiao visited her senior brother. She found him using one of the facilities, the highly concentrated Eon Energy room that was useful if they wished to train their Eon Energy. 

"You seem to be dissatisfied with their highly concentrated Eon Energy room, Senior Brother Shan," Ye Jiao remarked.

Qi Huan nodded. "They're not as good as the one I have in Chi Kingdom. But forget about it. At the very least, the amount of Eon Energy we have has increased by a lot."

From only being able to form a thin layer of Eon Energy around their body, they were already capable of forming a thick one. In addition, they had started to stretch it and learned how to control at the distance of around one meter around their body. The result was still horrible, but at least, they have started to be able to do that.

"Let's return back to Chen Kingdom and fetch our senior brother," Ye Jiao grinned. "It should be the time for us to do the collaboration mission together."

"Yeah," Qi Huan agreed. "Let's head back."

The two of them departed the day after that and headed back to Chen Kingdom. Because of their increase in Eon Energy, they were able to move their body faster and protected themselves from the wind. It increased their original pace by several fold as they dashed through the swamp and entered into the gra.s.sland.

"This gra.s.sland makes me remember the hunt," Qi Huan clicked his tongue. It has only ended a few months ago, so he still has a lot of impression of the Spring Hunt.

"Come to think about it, I wonder how Chen Kingdom's condition after the destruction of several places," Ye Jiao pondered.

"There are several pieces of news. First is the agreement of Su Family and Wei Family, the Su Family pays for half of the damages and ease the citizen rage. Secondly, Prince Chen Zi Quan announced his engagement a few days ago. He's engaged to Wei Yin from the Wei Family."

"Huh, engagement?" Ye Jiao's eyes widened in surprise. Considering that Chen Zi Quan aimed to become a powerful Eon Energy Master in the academy, why would he tie himself down to a woman from Chen Kingdom? It wouldn't be weird at all if these princes never got engaged because they pursued better strength in the future.

Qi Huan yawned. "Yeah, it's not the position of the main wife, but the side one. I don't know what they're planning to do, but I can say that it's definitely not a good one."

Ye Jiao didn't reply back. The thought of marrying as a side wife would definitely not a good one. Even though Wei Yin has great talent, it seemed that she was still unable to escape from the clutch of the imperial family as they wished for her to stay loyal to them until the very end.

"I feel bad for Wei Yin."

"Really? I don't feel anything."

"I guess, it's a normal thing for you, Prince Qi Huan?"

Qi Huan frowned. "Don't call me using my real name out here. I'm not saying that she should become someone else's side wife, but she's just too timid for her own good. She never complains and always accepts other people's arrangements. If she wants to, there should be a way for her to stop this arrangement."

With Wei Yin's talent, it was not a surprise if the imperial family backed down. They could just make her gave her oath of loyalty and didn't force her to get married. If she didn't want, it could lead to some other problems, but they wouldn't be able to force her hand into a marriage like this.

Her submissive att.i.tude just showed that she didn't even try to voice out her opinion. She looked completely like a doll that the people from the Wei Family and Imperial family used without restraint. 

"Maybe she just doesn't have a choice?"

"I don't know," Qi Huan shrugged. "You seem to be very concerned about her."

"Well, I just don't have a bad impression of her," Ye Jiao admitted. From the Wei Family children, only Wei Yin never attempted to bully her directly. She would stay at the back, looking impa.s.sive to the situation. It was the kind of eyes that seemed to have given up on life. However, Ye Jiao faintly understood that it was not easy for a woman to become a martial artist. At the very end, they would be used as a marriage tool to other families. 

Qi Huan shrugged. "She's the type of girl that buried everything in her mind down. That's my impression of her. At the very least, with the Wei Family busy, they seem to have forgotten about you and your father."

There was not even a mention of their name on the street anymore. Qi Huan also no longer heard any news regarding the search for Ye Jiao. It was as if the imperial family had determined that she had died along with her mother.

"That's good," Ye Jiao nodded in agreement.

The two of them stopped on their track as they looked to the front. It looked like there was a fierce battle ahead.

"Let's go and take a look," Qi Huan sprinted and soon, they saw a valley filled with numerous beasts.

Ye Jiao's eyes widened in surprise. "I didn't expect to see a beast horde again."

"This is a small one and there are only a few leaders at rank 2, Qi Huan scanned the horde, trying to inspect their strength. "Hey, Jiao'er, do you want to try something?"

"Please don't tell me that we're going to fight them?"

"That's exactly what I want us to do. We can be considered as half step into the third rank, so we should learn how to use our Eon Energy in the fight more. Let's just use them to test out our strength."

Ye Jiao furrowed her brows. It was not impossible to test out their strength using the beast horde because they have a large number. However, the risk of them losing out in terms of stamina was also there.

"Senior Brother Shan, are you trying to become more reckless like what Master said?"

"I could make do with some training," Qi Huan shrugged. "Besides, in my estimation, we won't die with only this number."

Hearing his words, Ye Jiao felt calmer. Even though Qi Huan might be suggesting something a bit reckless, he would never try to fight a battle he couldn't win. This prince was too calculative to do that. Ye Jiao knew that she could trust his words because he would not utter nonsense just like Lu Wan. 

"Fine. Let's go."

The two of them dashed into the horde. Ye Jiao used the method to erase her presence. After receiving the book, she had been training it wholeheartedly, but she could only master the first stage. Still, it was already more than enough because the way she concealed herself made it hard for those below rank 4 to detect her if they were not trying hard enough.

The moment Ye Jiao got close, she took out her dagger and slashed the rank 2 beast near her. The beast didn't even have a chance to react when it collapsed on the ground. Silently, Ye Jiao moved to the next beast and swung her dagger. It made a perfect arc as she continued to kill them all without alarming them.

Still, the smell of blood caused unease to spread on the horde. They were confused by their companion's sudden fall and the thick smell of blood.

'She's amazing,' Qi Huan was astonished when he saw Ye Jiao move. She looked completely different when she was making her move. However, it didn't mean he couldn't do anything.

He reached the nearby beast and used his sword to attack them rapidly.

Blood splattered out everywhere, tainting the snowy ground red with blood. It was a scary sight to behold.

Roar!

"Silence," Qi Huan uttered a word imbued by his thick bloodl.u.s.t and killing intent. That one word was already more than enough to silence the beast as they trembled in fear. Many didn't manage to move when Qi Huan's blade reached them.

Even the rank 2 beast was nothing in front of him.

As he had expected, with their newfound strength, it has turned into one sided ma.s.sacre.
