Mu Siyin looked up at him. “I don't want your apology. I want to know why your mother hates me so much.”

s.h.i.+ Beiyu paused for a second as he squeezed out some ointment. “It's going to hurt. Hang in there.”

Mu Siyin frowned in response. Deep down, she was getting very agitated.

It was a serious matter, and she could sense it from Mother s.h.i.+'s outburst and how s.h.i.+ Beiyu was avoiding the topic.

What happened before she was eight?

She really could not remember anything…

Other than some vague memories about her mother and sister, she remembered almost nothing.

s.h.i.+ Beiyu met her gaze helplessly. His voice was low as he replied, “Do you know how your sister died?”

Mu Siyin frowned. “I heard them say that it was because of a car accident.”

s.h.i.+ Beiyu nodded his head. “Yes. It was.”

“You knew?” Mu Siyin was stunned.

The look in s.h.i.+ Beiyu's eyes turned complicated. “My father died from a car accident too.”
