It didn't feel right killing the two Powder Gangers there just to get a couple caps and some more ammo, so I continued on my way.

After a full day of walking I was exhausted and had to settle down to make camp. The sun was still well above the horizon but, Sunny taught me that it was best to make camp early. I gathered together some dried bushes and other dead plants to start a fire. I had to do it now because having a fire at night was a bad idea, it let anything out in the desert know exactly where I was.

So I had to work fast, I brought out the Gecko meat I collected earlier today and let it roast over the fire. Trudy gave me some spices to sprinkle onto it while cooking to increase the flavor. It took about half an hour to cook and even though I paid attention the entire time I still almost burnt it.

I wondered if it was because my Survival skill was only 15. Regardless even though it was a little charred it was good enough to eat, although it didn't taste very good.

Once I finished eating I snuff out the fire and crawled in my small tent and sleeping bag. By this point the sun was already beginning to set and it was time to sleep.

Another advantage I seemed to have because of my powers was that I could fall asleep instantly once I laid on the bed. I could even choose the exact time I woke up. It was pretty handy.

I woke up at 5:30 sharp the next morning. I reached for my Shotgun ready in case anything was waiting for me outside. It was clear and I could just see the hints of blue beginning to peak over the horizon. With nothing to do until it was a bit brighter, I pulled out some Trail Mix to eat for breakfast and turned on my Pipboy's radio.

While I was listening to Big Iron for the thousandth time I wondered about the piece of technology strapped to my arm.

It worked exactly the same as the one from the game, with the all the same menu's and everything. It was crazy, when ever I picked up or put down an item it would automatically update its inventory. Or when I found a new location it would add that place to its map all by itself. I couldn't help but, be curious about if all Pipboy's were like this or if it was just mine.

While I was lost in my thoughts the sky had gotten a bit brighter and I could see well enough now to actually move. I packed up my stuff and got moving again.

There was only a short period every day when it wasn't blisteringly hot or freezing cold, and I wanted to make the most of it. From what I'd been told I should make it too Primm some time around lunch.

You'd think walking threw the desert for hours on end, while only listening to the same couple songs stuck on repeat would get boring. But, no aside from the heat I was actually enjoying it. It was fun seeing all the different kinds of plants and animals that weren't in the games. Most of them were just regular animals too no crazy mutations or anything.

After thinking about it a bit I realized that was because pretty much all of the crazy creatures in the world were created by humans. Deathclaws, Molerats, Cazadores, Nightstalkers, and all the different variations of Super Mutants were all man made. The ones that weren't were the Giant Insects, Ghouls, Brahmin, and Mirelurks. And it wasn't 100% that any of them weren't created in a lab either.

A couple hours later I finally saw a town in the distance. The first thing that caught my attention was the ma.s.sive casino with an old wooden rollercoaster snaking around it. As I neared the town I was stopped by an NCR soldier.

"I'm sorry sir, but I the town of Primm is currently off limits."

"Why" I asked?

"Two weeks ago Primm's Sheriff was brutally murdered in his sleep and a group of Powder Gangers took over the city."

"I see but, I really need to get into town. There's something I need to pick up at the Courier's Office. I'll be in and out."

"What could possibly be in there that's worth fighting over 50 Powder Gangers" he raised his brow.

"50!"

"Yeah, they're a small group that broke off from the main Powder Ganger base at the NCRCF. If I remember right before the riot they had over 500 prisoners in there."

Hearing that information I got a little light headed. That was ALOT more Powder Gangers than I expected. I definitely wasn't going to try raid the casino now that I knew how many Powder Gangers were in town. It would be suicide! Regardless of what crazy powers I had.

"So you still want to go into town" the soldier joked?

I gulped "Yes, I do."

He blinked looking like he didn't quite hear what I said "really?"

"Yeah, there's something in there I need."

He shrugged "Whatever it's your funeral."

He lead me through the NCR's make s.h.i.+ft base and I could see just how understaffed they were. Through the entire trip I saw maybe 12 and that's including the commander and other important people I knew were in the tents.

I was taken to an overpa.s.s that was the only easily accessible entrance to the town.

"Good luck and watch out for the mines" he joked patting me on the back.

As he walked away I could hear him and some other soldiers making bets on how far I'd make it. I was shocked, it still hadn't quite sunk in yet how truly ruthless people here could be.

I sighed and focused on the task at hand, there were three mines on the bridge. They were camouflaged but, I could see them in VATS. I was pretty sure I could deactivate them but, I would have to be extra careful just in case. If they started going off and I couldn't stop them, I'd jump off the side of the bridge. It was a good 15 feet off the ground and I'd definitely break my legs but, it was still way better than dying.

I crouched down low and started sneaking. Trying to get as close as possible to the first mine without setting it off. When I got within 5 feet of it, it started beeping like crazy. I dashed towards it hoping I'd know how to stop it. I don't know exactly what I did I was in too much of a panic but, one second it's about to explode and the next I'm holding a deactivated mine in my hands.

I could hear gasps of shock coming from the NCR soldiers as I put the mine in my backpack. Apparently all of them thought I'd get blown up the second I tripped the mine, the b.a.s.t.a.r.ds.

I deactivated the next two mines as easily as the first and managed to see what happened. Apparently like magic the second I touched the they disarmed themselves. I was expecting someone kind of off switch or fail safe that I could trigger. But, I guess if they did actually have any of those things they'd be useless once an enemy figured it out. I shook my head and add another thing to the growing list of crazy s.h.i.+t I could do.

Once at the otherside I did my best to hide and get a look at what was going on.

I could see three different Powder Gangers standing guard outside the Bison Steve Hotel and Casino, which they had made into their base.

It would be tough getting to the Mojave Express Office without being seen. I could take them out but, though better of it. Because in real life people actually care if there's a gunshot or they find one of their friends dead. And don't just forget about everything once you hide for a minute or two.

I waited until they were distracted and snuck over as fast as I could. It was a good thing the Express Office was close to the edge of town, otherwise I probably would have been seen.

As I entered the building I could hardly contain my excitement. I was about to meet probably the best companion in any of the Fallout games ED-D the Eyebot or just Eddie for short.
