Lily and Ariana sat on the couch in Susu's room with their feet stomped on Kitty's back to keep her disfigured cheek lay flat against the cold floor. Kitty's nose and neck was sore to the point where it hurts to move at the slightest angle. In the middle of waiting for Chen Mu and Lin Que to come back, somebody's phone vibrated multiple times.

"Whose phone is that? Can you please pick up the call, message or whatever outside? It's distracting us." Zi Yan spoke in a soft voice while wiping Susu's forehead with a wet cloth. Professor Luo Xia remained silent, but the frown on his face was evident.

Lily, Ariana and Chen Nan shook their heads, "the vibration isn't from any of our phones." Another vibration occurred, and Lily followed the sounds to Kitty's back pocket.

"Nevermind. I know where it's coming from. Let me turn it off." Lily got up from her seat, bent down and took Kitty's phone. She flipped the phone around, squinted at the caller ID on the screen and said, "guys, I think I found Mama Cat behind this cat's chase. Look."

"Karen? As in...Karen.. Yin? Susu's stepsister?" Professor Luo Xia asked in a questioning tone.

"Let's confirm it," Lily accepted the call and muted it the second the call connected.

Karen shouted loud into the phone, "Finally picking up the d.a.m.n call?! Did you do as I instruct? Huh? Say something? Why so quiet? Did you give the medicine to Susu yet?! h.e.l.lo?? Are you f.u.c.king deaf??"

Lily cut off the call and bent down once again, "So, Kitty cat, did you have fun teaming up with Karen Yin against my Susu? Answer my question!" She lifted Kitty's face and met her tired eyes.

"She blackmailed me. I had to do it. I didn't want to. I'm also a victim." Kitty bit down on her lips and crossed her fingers for everyone in the room to understand her situation.

"You said that you're a victim? Did she point a gun to your head or did she hold your hands to change the drugs for Susu's chemotherapy treatment? Hmm?" Ariana pressed her entire weight on Kitty's ankle using her foot as she failed to suppress her anger.

"Ahhh!! My ankle!! You're breaking it!! It hurts!! Stop it!" Kitty screamed in agony as tears mixed with her blood and lightened its color on her pale skin.

"Pain? Then what about our Susu's pain? Did you think meals come with free fruits? You did something like this, so you should have expected a price. Handing you to the police is too unsatisfying, so I'll help send you to h.e.l.l instead." Lily rolled up her sleeves and prepared for a nice round of skinning a b.i.t.c.hy face using a mini blade.

"Stop for a second," Chen Mu walked in with a gloomy expression as he walked towards Kitty. Ariana lifted her foot and Kitty sighed in relief that at least one person understood her situation. When he bent down and reached for her wrist, she thought that he came over to help her. She was about to thank him, but was interrupted by the immense pain in her wrist.

She shrieked in pain as he calmly stared down at her, "I told you that I would break your bones one by one for every hour that Susu remains like this. I started with your right wrist. Did that hurt? Too bad. You are screaming in pain and calling out for mercy, but when have you ever given Susu mercy when you gave her an unknown drug? She couldn't even scream out her pain, so you have no right to do so. You only thought of yourself and nothing about others well being. You're nothing but a selfish b.i.t.c.h."

He wiped his hands with sanitizing wipes and stood up, "You're lucky that I didn't use a hammer or other tools to smash your bones into fragments. You may have suffered a small broken bone from your body that could be fixed, but Susu will suffer in the long term if we don't find out the drug's name. I'll give you one chance to redeem yourself. Give me the name of the drug."

Kitty cried, "I don't know anything! I just got the drug from Karen, and she told me that Susu wouldn't die! She told me those were vitamins to make Susu overdose or something. I never thought that it would get this bad! I never-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Chen Mu broke a small bone in her left wrist. His hands were trembling from anger as he thought of how clueless this nurse could be. He cursed at her continuously, "how are you f.u.c.king qualified to be a nurse in the first place? You didn't know what? Excuses and all these bulls.h.i.+t. Even a kid would know the importance of medical treatments especially one for cancer patients! You injected an unknown drug thinking its just vitamins when it could've been poison!"

Chen Nan held onto Chen Mu as he witnessed Chen Mu going out of control. "Chen Mu! Stay calm. Only we can save her now. How much longer do you think we need to wait?" Chen Nan blocked his way and purposely brought up Susu's condition as a reason for him to stay calm.

"A few hours." Chen Mu took deep breaths with his arms on his hips. He looked like he had aged ten years after staying an hour in the lab. After taking a quick look at Susu, Chen Mu decided to go back to the lab so he wouldn't end up murdering somebody and staining the walls of the hospital room.

Before he walked out, he had turned around and said to Kitty, "just letting you know. Susu had always been a fighter. Even when she knew she was diagnosed with an incurable disease, she cared for everyone around her."

"When you made that stupid decision instead of looking for professional or logical help, you've taken away someone's hope to recover along with many people's hearts. She was doing extremely well. After today's treatment, she could have lived at least a few years and wait for a cure or donor. And now..."

His eyes wandered and reddened as it landed on Susu, "now, everything might change for the worst. So before you ask for forgiveness or even dare complain about the pain that you are receiving, look at the innocent person whom you've ruined. I'm a doctor and my job is to help patients recover, but there is a type of illness that I can never treat; stupidity."

"While I'm talking about this, let me give you a heads up. She was my suns.h.i.+ne for however long I've been in love with her. When someone takes away the sun, what remains is darkness. You could have done anything to prevent this from happening such as asking for a.s.sistance, yet you chose the worst method to deal with Karen's blackmail. So, suck up your responsibility."

Kitty wailed and shouted, "It's unfair! I was the victim who got blackmailed. Why wouldn't anyone try to understand me? Why are you all ganging up against me when it is Karen who was behind all of this?"

Lily didn't want another word from her and stuffed Kitty's slippers into her mouth, "shut the f.u.c.k up before I stuff my heels up your nostrils and stir your brain into juice. Victim, my a.s.s. Maybe if you were honest to the police or us before you did harm to Susu, then you would be considered as a victim. Right now, you're just as vicious as Karen. Look over there."

Ariana angled Kitty's face towards Susu's bed with her sneakers as Lily continued, "she was laughing, smiling and talking with us about the future a little over three hours ago. She is the most wonderful girl I've ever known and because of her, her boyfriend dedicated his time to being a doctor just to cure her. Just when they were so close to the finish line, you came in and wrecked it. Now, we can't even see a finish line. Do you really have the right to call yourself a victim?"

Ariana really wished she could crush Kitty to minced meat, but now was not the right time. "Because of your selfishness and closed-minded peac.o.c.k brain, you've put someone's life in jeopardy. Not just hers, but everyone else who cares and loves her dearly. Even though you were blackmailed, you had so many opportunities and methods to escape Karen's wrath. You chose the dumbest path, so you pay for it."

Seeing only guilt on Kitty's face, Chen Nan decided to pour oil to the flames and ignite the fear within her soul. He said, "you're lucky that there is still a lab report waiting for Chen Mu. If it weren't for me, you would have gotten at least five broken bones by now. Chen Mu and Susu came a long way, and their story is too long to even tell. But one thing I am 1000% sure about is that he would never allow anyone who dared lay a strand of Susu's hair to get out of his sight, alive."

"Oh, and by death, I was referring to long, torturous methods. Such as breaking every single bone in your body and leaving the most important ones last so you will feel every bit of pain you deserve. Since he is a doctor, he could always break your bone or dislocate something and then fix it just to break it again. Perhaps, you will end up 90% dead and still live for another few years before actually dying."

Chen Nan checked Susu's vital signs once again after scaring Kitty the way he planned to. Kitty kept mumbling repeatedly, "I don't want to die. I don't want to.. it's not my fault. It's Karen. Karen, that b.i.t.c.h. I'll kill you if I get the chance."
