Keith Cameron saw one of the workers at the bridal salon slip out of the back door to have a smoke. So he slipped in and hid in a utility closet until the appointed time for Modesty to arrive. He wasn't sure what he was going to do once he saw her, maybe talk to her, try to reason with her, try to make her understand how he felt. Then drag her back home where she belongs.

Keith Cameron kept looking at his watch not sure how long it was going to be until Modesty got there. He kept reviewing different scenarios of what he was going to do or say when he finally confronted her. He wanted her to understand that it was an accident on his part and that he had done everything he could to take care of her after her parents were killed. He didn't know that Zhuang was going to kill Kyle and Lilly, he truly just wanted to scare him into signing the company over. But, Zhuang had other plans, he wanted to destroy Kyle and the Su's along with him. Had he not entered into the house at the tail end of Zhuangs' plan then Zhuang would have killed Modesty. Keith was only able to save her and it was only a stroke of luck that he was able to get away from Zhuang's people as they were hitting Modesty in the head repeatedly.
