3 Not A Ghost? Definitely A Demon

"Prepare to depart. We're leaving first thing tomorrow." , he uttered a single command

All the subordinates that had followed him began to leave one-by-one, relaying the message along. But when the last man left, a beautiful entered. Standing at the doorway, her beauty looked like a fairy. With clothes as pure as snow and as elegant as water, she was like a white lotus. Innocent and pure. And with the glowing light of dusk behind her back, it gave her a divine glow.

"Kai'er." , her voice, smooth and sweet as honey, called out softly. Her beautiful blossom eyes gazed affectionately upon the handsome man inside the room.

"Li Yue... What is it?" He replied. His sword-like brows pinched into a slight frown.

"What is it that's so important? Where are you planning to go?"

Shaking his head, "It's nothing."

Li Yue's brows wrinkled. They were childhood friends and he would always tell her everything. Everything but, for one topic. "Is it related to... that girl?"

He nodded his head, causing her brows to wrinkle even more. Whenever it's about that girl, he would always forget all about her and would not even spare her a glance. It was unfair. Just who is this girl?

Holding in her resentment, "Kai'er, may I come with you?"

"No. Besides, your father would not allow it anyways."

"But I can always convinc- "

" No." he states firmly. There was nothing to be discussed. He does not want her to come, so what can she do?

With pendant in hand, he excused himself and left, leaving Li Yue behind in the room fuming in anger. And when he was out of sight, Li Yue immediately smashed the table to pieces.

Who is this s.l.u.t that's more important than her?! So what if that girl has saved Kai once? She, Li Yue, was his childhood sweetheart! Red with rage, she smashed and cursed. Cursing a girl that she never met.

"Achoo!" Rena sneezed for the third time and she scowled in annoyance.

Ai! Just who is cursing her?

Rubbing her nose, she was currently inspecting the room she was in. These walls... they seem to be falling apart?

Hey, can they even be called as walls?

And the ceiling, even though they are patched up with leaves, there are still holes. Seeing the dirt floor with insects scurrying around, three black lines appeared on her forehead.

This house... is too poor. Extremely poor and.... dirty...

Sighing, she decided to stop looking at the house and look for people instead. A noise led her outside and into a small shed where she found a man cooking there. Humming, he suddenly turned around to reveal a young but handsome face of a teenager.

Frozen with surprise, they stood staring at each other until the boy's face suddenly turned deathly pale.

" G -ghost!" , he pointed at Rena with a shaking finger.

Ghost?

"Ah...G -Great spirit, forgive me. I-I only found your body in the river and bought you back here. I didn't do anything! Please don't be mad!" He stuttered in a hurry.

Looking at him, she wondered if she met an idiot.

Then, he suddenly turned around and frantically scoured his kitchen covers. His face lits up as he pulled out a paper talisman.

Running over, he taped the talisman onto Rena's forehead and bravely shouts, "Ghost, begone!"

" ... "

" ... "

" ... "

The three black lines reappeared on Rena's forehead.

"Begone!" , the young man tried again, to no avail. " Disappear! Leave!"

SMACK!

"Ow!", the young man held his head where Rena just hit him.

With a scary look in her eyes, "Still think I'm a ghost?"

Shaking his head in denial, he rubbed the sore spot where she smacked him. When he thought she wasn't paying attention, he quietly mutters under his breath, "Not a ghost, but definitely a demon ah. "

SMACK!

"Ow!!"
