79 But I'm Different From You.

"When did you arrive? I was almost scared to death when I heard a voice beside me! I almost thought that the ghost from the movie was haunting me!"

Ellen looked at her quietly.

He had clearly seen her cold and distant expression earlier..

It was as if what he was afraid of her finding out had been found out at last..

He smiled and asked cynically, "What were you thinking just now?"

'Thinking of avoiding the topic? Keep dreaming! I'll pursue this matter until and unless you lose your cool!'

Song Xia ignored hiM and asked him instead, "Where are we going?"

She realized that after Ellen had boarded the car, Secretary Han had drove in the complete opposite direction of Ellen's home.

Ellen smirked, "You'll know once we get there."

Song Xia didn't bother anymore.

She turned towards the window and watched Yu Jin's desolate figure in the street becoming smaller and smaller..

He was still standing there.

He seemed to have noticed her gaze as he looked at her coldly.

Those cold eyes.. made her s.h.i.+ver involuntarily.

She quickly turned her head away and took out her phone, seemingly playing with it.

'Time to work! Kitties are waiting for me!'

Ellen could clearly see her texts from his height so he skimmed quickly before turning his gaze away.

She was texting a different person from the one earlier, actually an editor. The content was only related to some books and blah blah.

Ellen knew Song Xia was a writer. She seemed idle and careless everyday but he knew that she was maintaining her time very well.

She even earned some money from being an author and a social-media celebrity.

He didn't want to monitor her actions because that would mean he was stepping into her private s.p.a.ce, but he couldn't help it at all.

He needed to make sure that she was in contact with safe people and only then could he relax completely.

- w.a.n.g Enterprises, China

"..I hereby announce that my daughter, w.a.n.g Yuju is going to join the company as a Director from today onwards! Please treat her well!"

w.a.n.g Yu Jie patted w.a.n.g Yuju's shoulder after his speech ended. w.a.n.g Yuju bowed respectfully with a gentle smile on her face.

Countless applauds resounded throughout the meeting room.

The board members and shareholders were extremely happy and satisfied with the new appointed director who was also the future successor of the whole w.a.n.g Family.

Even though she was very young, she was a very capable and reliable woman who had many achievements abroad.

In addition to her talents, she was also quite gentle and humble, unlike the other young ladies of rich families who were arrogant and conceited to the bones. So, they had a favorable impression of her.

After work ended, w.a.n.g Yuju walked out of the building and sighed.

She looked down and her gentle smile was replaced with lethargy.

Her beautiful face looked slightly pale and she looked tired and depressed, unlike her usual cheerfulness.

w.a.n.g Yuju extended her fingers out and peered at the beautiful ring on her slender finger. Immediately, a smile bloomed in her face.

It was the ring that Li Ming had proposed her with. Even though, she hadn't said yes, Li Ming insisted her to wear it.

Her smile turned into one of self-mockery.

Initially, she wanted to return it to him but she was selfish. Selfish enough to keep wearing it shamelessly..

w.a.n.g Yuju smiled bitterly.

Her heart hurt everytime she thought of yesterday.

In order to forget this agonizing pain and divert her attention from the recent events, she made a decision to enter the company right away.

At least at that time, she would only focus in work and maybe even forget about him.

Right, entering the company was just an excuse for her to run away from the pain and the harsh reality.

She couldn't bear to see Li Ming with someone else after all the things that had transpired between them.

She aimlessly strolled around while looking into the distance and her gaze suddenly froze at a certain figure. 'Li Ming..?!'

w.a.n.g Yuju immediately froze in her spot.

She didn't know what to do when she saw Li Ming walking towards her with a beautiful flower bouquet in his hands. Her mind blanked out.

"Li Ming.." She instinctively called out, not realizing her voice was full of longing and grief.

Li Ming slowly walked towards her and stopped right in front of her. He smiled gently and rubbed her head affectionately, "Yuju, did you miss me?"

w.a.n.g Yuju felt joy in her heart as she smiled back but tears were already starting to well up in her eyes. "Ming.."

Her smile suddenly froze when the figure in front of her overlapped with another man..

She realized that the man before her wasn't Li Ming..

Rather, it was her senior..

She staggered a few steps back and lowered her head before indifferently saying, "Senior Ning, what are you doing here?"

She looked here and there in a flurry.

'Where's Brother Ming? He was just here a moment ago; where did he disappear?'

Looking at her actions, Ning Hao revealed a self-depreciating smile and said softly, seeing through her thoughts.

"Li Ming isn't here. He hasn't appeared here at all."

His answer made w.a.n.g Yuju come back to her senses.

She s.p.a.ced out for a second before regaining her gentle composure.

After staying quiet for a while, she pursed her lips and said, "Senior Ning, I'm not feeling well right now, so please excuse me.."

She walked forward and was about to leave.

Ning Hao sneered as he smiled bitterly, "Is it worth it for us to keep hurting like this?"

w.a.n.g Yuju stopped in her tracks and looked at him silently.

Ning Hao continued with a hurt expression, "Loving someone to death yet for the other person to not share the same feeling.. Is it worth it? I wonder sometimes..

"But I'm a coward; I can't give up loving you even though it makes me feel like dying.. Right now, aren't we the same, Yuju?"

w.a.n.g Yuju kept silent for a while before slowly saying, "But I'm different."

'He also loves me back. It's just that fate has broken us apart.'
