261 Vol. Six- Twelve: Like A Puzzle

Her neck stiffens after her nostrils caught the familiar after shower cologne, then Levi seated beside her. "Hey, I am looking for you," Levi told her.

"Oh, I am just catching fresh air. This place looks promising to give me what I want," she replied. She could sense Levi's intent gazes at her face, but she doesn't dare move to glance at his direction and chided him.

"Are you feeling unwell? It is lunchtime, let's grab something to eat… what do you prefer?" Levi asks Madison that made her very surprised for pampering her.

But inside her chest is a growing foreign feeling to her; She wishes that his sincerity is real. "Nah. I am good. You can go ahead if you are hungry."

"Miss Girlfriend?"

There is a sweet flavor to his endearment; but, this is just Levi's pretends. Madison glanced at Levi, and she saw the sincerity on his eyes. Don't do this, she shouldn't be in trouble like this. But her heart wis.h.i.+ng that the sincerity she could see in his eyes; meant for her.

"All right, my job is to accompany you." Madison rose from the bench and walked ahead; Levi caught up then feel a warm hand sliding down on her fingers. She looks up at Levi and he was staring down at her.

"What? Don't forget where we are, Miss Girlfriend," Levi poke her nose, then smiled at her. "Everyone is watching and observing us the whole time. Remember that, Miss Girlfriend."

She now began thinking; this guy is being touchy! And she has a feeling; he is just making a move on her. Is he just looking for excuses to touch her? But Levi's palm on her fingers is warm; it was like, sending pure sensation to her heart.

"Okay, there is something I wanted to talk with you," she told.

"What? You will confess to me at last?" Levi jested.

"In your dreams!" she snaps out. Madison hears him laughing. Is it because he got to talk with Ca.s.sie? She glances at their hands that intertwine. How a Perfect Lie.

Levi took her in a restaurant not that far from Montfort company. They choose a little secluded table to talk in private.

"What is it?" Levi then asks her the moment the waitress left. Now he is waiting for whatever she will tell him.

"Have you heard the rumor circulating around the office?" she began asking him.

"What rumors?" Levi asking back; he sounded clueless for whatever gossips the employees been pa.s.sing.

"What happens yesterday, everyone is talking about the guy you sent away because—" Madison can't utter the words, there is no way she will reckon it was likely because of her.

"Hum? Because?"

Wait — this guy looks knew then but still acting!

"It could be possible, that you already know about the rumors but you only pretending you heard nothing?" she complained.

"Hum. Is something happens?" he asked innocently, then added. "Too bad, it looks like; I have to watch all of my employees."

"Why are you avoiding my question?"

"Am I? What was your question again?" Levi keeps playing his innocence.

"Levi!" she dropped his name. And Levi widens his smile.

"There you go… you finally called me by my name," he expressed with a gentle smile on his face.

Madison ponders Levi's words. Does she never call him by his first name since they have met? She can't help but recalling their first meeting.

"You were isolating yourself from me, again," Levi commented in a serious tone.

Her forehead showing those dark lines and giving Levi a confused look. "What does that mean?" she asked.

Levi's gaze right now toward her was intense, it was like, Levi was looking at the deepest part of her. "Every time you were so quiet and in deep thoughts; you were like a puzzle I can't put together."

It surprised her that Levi was actually observing this closely. She admits that she is closing herself to him. More likely, she doesn't want to be close to him if only she could avoid him. However, everything concerns her, is her job.

"Here's our food now," she said, averting the topic. She heard Levi sighed, so she looks up and thought if he is sincere about her for real?

HIRYUU ISLAND

Levi ended the call and so Ca.s.sie runs toward her father's study room. "Papa! Can I go with you?" she asked then.

"Huh? Where? You want to go back with me to Cape Town?" Landon's eyes spark even though he knew what her daughter referring to different, and he teases her.

"Papa? I heard that you will go to Mainland City, please bring me with you!" she begs her strict father.

"No. Isn't you had a lot of projects and homework?"

"I almost finish them, Papa, and ready to submit on Friday. Besides, I can bring my homework and ask Quinn to help me with math problems!"

Ugh. Landon wanted to spank her daughter. And she really has excuses! he thought.

"How about me? I am good at math." Landon boasted.

"Papa? But you will fly to Mainland City by Sat.u.r.day morning!"

"Honey? What's the matter if you will bring our daughter?"

Landon wanted to roll crying on the floor, his wife and daughter join forces together, 2 vs. 1! How he can win against these two beautiful ladies in front of him? Landon crying inside because he is against that his daughter will see a man. That b.a.s.t.a.r.d who should come here! his mind freaking out.

"Then, why is he not coming here instead? Why should you have to visit him?"

"Honey? Do you forget that you hinder Quinn to see our daughter often?" Hannah raised her left brow, scowling at her husband for being purposely forgotten.

Landon, who laughs nervously, could only scratch his head. "But honey, why they have to see often? When they could always together once they get married?"

Hannah's mouth drop opens. "Honey?" She can't believe the way her husband was thinking about it now.

"Huh. It seems someone has forgotten his poetic words with my father. Tsk, Tsk!" Hannah is shaking her head while crossing her arms on top of her chest. She is gaping at Landon.

"Honey? Does it need to remember my foolishness when I was young?"

"Foolishness?" Hannah's eyes grew wide looking at her husband with a frantic tone. "So it's just your foolishness when you ask my hand for marriage?" Hannah's words are sharp.

Landon froze and his mind suddenly shut off; this isn't good, he thought. "But Hannah, that wasn't all about." he chuckles nervously.

"Then was it all about? And what does that mean?" Hannah blurted out.

"Umh... Mama! Papa!"

"Honey, our daughter is here," Landon was chuckling; He doesn't know how to escape from this topic, and from Hannah's sudden bad mood.

Hannah was glaring at him then turn head to look at Ca.s.sie.

"What is it, hon?"

"Can you teach me about grandma's recipe? I wanted to cook for Quinn! Can I Papa?" she showed kitten eyes to her father.

Landon takes this opportunity to get out of his wife's blazing stare. "Come on, kitten, I'll help you prepare the ingredients, then your mama will just cook them!"

"Okay, Papa!"
