What was worse, was that more and more zombies were starting to surround their car. Although Long Yu knew that these things which possessed no intelligence could not detect them, there was still the possibility of a special one hidden within the group. It would be bad if their vehicle was attacked and overturned on its side.

Since he did not plan on going back to where they came from, their only option was to head into the city. Long Yu started the car once again before immediately activating the plow function. The sound of metal unfolding and clicking together resounded, interrupting the hoa.r.s.e moans around them.

The surrounding zombies turned their heads towards the source of the sound, confused at the sudden transformation of the car.

*VROOM!*

Before they could react, the Black Shark charged forward like a bull, knocking away all the zombies that stood in its way. The endless layers of zombies were forcefully spread apart like the red sea.

Though, some zombies managed to cling onto the plow with their nasty claws. Seeing this, Long Yu tapped on another b.u.t.ton on the screen. Those zombies were instantly shredded apart by multiple emerging saw blades. With this armament activated, the vehicle was able to speed up even more.

Xixi closed her eyes as she could not stand the gory sight. Even Long Yu himself felt a bit sick when he saw the zombies being grinded into b.l.o.o.d.y meat pastes. Rotten flesh and limbs would occasionally land on the front winds.h.i.+eld. The congealed blood of the zombies also created dark red stains on the gla.s.s. He did not look forward to cleaning them.

Regardless, Long Yu was glad that he managed to upgrade the car prior to this incident. The new improvements were already showing their worth.

After having gone through what seemed to be an endless ocean of zombies, the Black Shark finally managed to burst out of the zombie crowd.

Long Yu felt a sense of freedom when he saw the open street. At the same time, he also felt a bit displeased. He had originally planned to scout the city for a safe route with the surveillance drone. However, the escape of the survivors in the van had ruined his plan and forced them to enter the city hastily.

Due to having to pa.s.s through the horde, he could not even see where he was driving. Driving tens of blocks without being able to see the road was far from easy.

Furthermore, the occasional meat chunks and blood splatters also did a pretty good job at obscuring his view. He had to constantly adjust his speed or risk driving into a building. He reckoned they might even have veered off the street a few times.

As Long Yu looked at the rear mirror, he saw that the zombies behind had suddenly stopped chasing them. They roared wildly but were unwilling to move forward any further. Their puzzling actions gave Long Yu an ominous feeling.

"Big brother, why did those monsters suddenly stop?" Xixi had obviously also noticed the zombies' abnormal behaviour.

*Pop* *Pop* *Tsss*

Crackling sounds could suddenly be heard as a soft tremor travelled up from the bottom of the car.

Just as Long Yu was trying to figure out what those noises were, the screen on the dashboard flashed red.

'What the h.e.l.l!?'

Long Yu was shocked when he heard the car system's report. Having been upgraded, the wheels could now easily defend against bullets and small explosions without taking much damage. However, this sudden attack had taken a chunk off the wheel's durability just like that. Long Yu had a feeling that this phenomenon was related to the zombies' strange behaviour.

Without delay, he stopped the car and quickly put it into reverse. He would floor it as soon as he noticed any danger. But even after surveying the area around them for a whole minute, he had yet to spot anything strange.

As Long Yu's foot nervously tapped on the accelerate pedal, a hair rising situation suddenly occurred in front of them.

Except for a few large cracks on the road, the street intersection ten meters in front was originally vacant. But now, he could see fist sized critters continuously crawling out of those cracks.

These creatures have eight long limbs and resemble an arachnid species. Besides their dangerous looking fangs, their backsides looked like transparent pods which carried a yellowish green substance. The slos.h.i.+ng liquid inside those pods gave Long Yu a bad feeling.
