Chapter 651: Gorgeous Glow

“Uh? What does the little kid want to do? Suicide?” muttered the Chancellor.

Initially, he had braced himself to meet Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s desperate attack head-on. However, it had never crossed his mind that Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s target was not him but the Metal Essence. Actually, not even he, Genesis' great leader, knew what the Metal Essence really was. Ever since they had discovered, the huge metal ball had been levitating there without any changes. It was surrounded by a powerful energy field, so it couldn't be moved at all—not to mention damaged.

Suddenly, as the Chancellor was witnessing the tour bus das.h.i.+ng toward the huge, indestructible metal ball, he got a foreboding feeling.

“Die!” he shouted. At the same time, a dense, dark ray of light escaped from his chest—it was Battle Angel's cannon ray!

Boom!

The energy ray's airflow destroyed the ground as it headed for the tour bus. In the next instant, dark ray slammed the tour bus' tail like a million-pounds-heavy hammer

The tour bus' rear was burst open by the ray, and even a part of the roof was destroyed. The main bedroom and bathroom, which were located near the rear part of the tour bus, were destroyed. In other words, 1/3 of the tour bus was gone!

However, Jiang Lius.h.i.+ had no time to think about any of this. He was burning his life force and over-drafting all of the tour bus' power. All the things he had done were just for the gorgeous bright at the end of the tunnel of despair—the Metal Essence a few meters away from them!

In no time, the tour bus leaped off the cliff, heading directly at the Metal Essence's surface. The collision created cracks on the Metal Essence's surface, and golden sword-like rays of light escaped from within, hitting all directions. Wherever the rays struck, destruction followed; every piece of equipment Genesis had installed turned to ashes.

As they were within the mountain, a closed environment, the high-pressure energy flow could only vent through the pa.s.sage, sending the iron gate, which was blocking it, flying. The huge iron gate was turning at high-speed like a helicopter's propeller, which had lost control. It only stopped after chopping through several big trees.

Even the Chancellor felt the crus.h.i.+ng pressure on his chest before he was also sent flying. With much difficulty, he planted his feet in the ground and stopped before the pa.s.sage's entrance; a long trail of destroyed ground could be seen in front of him. He was bewildered by what just occurred. The Chancellor never thought that Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s attack could be so fierce and horrifyingly strong.

After checking himself, the Chancellor noticed that the high-pressure energy had destroyed most of the energy cannons embed on his battle suit. It needed at least a few hours to repair, and the process would consume a lot of energy.

'How is this possible!?' wondered the Chancellor.

He was clearly aware that the huge metal ball was impenetrable. Not even an ultrlarge diamond cutter could leave a trace on it. Therefore, it was reasonable to say that as soon as the tour bus collided with the metal ball, the vehicle and everyone in it would be pulverized. But how was such a terrifying explosion generated?

The Chancellor felt more and more uneasy. Thus, he ignored his wound and dashed at full speed back to the Metal Essence. As he was approaching the Metal Essence, the Chancellor felt the temperature increasing at a ridiculous rate. Due to the explosion, the ruined area's temperature was unimaginably high—it even exceeded the temperature of lava!

A large piece of semi-melting boulder fell in the pa.s.sage, splas.h.i.+ng dark-red magma in every direction.

The pa.s.sage was crumbling, and it should even be said that the entire ruins would collapse! Even for such a prominent figure as the Chancellor, being buried there would not be a trifling matter.

However, in the Chancellor's mind, the most important matter on hand was to make sure whether Jiang Lius.h.i.+ was dead or alive.

The Chancellor chopped at the ground several times, destroying all the rocks blocking his way. Not long after, he got a glimpse of the Metal Essence, which was surprisingly still intact.

Upon seeing it, the Chancellor took a deep breath, thinking that nothing in the world could destroy it. Besides the Metal Essence, the Chancellor noticed some metal pieces from Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s tour bus. He already knew that the tour bus was in a sorry state before colliding with the Metal Essence, so he found it natural that only a few pieces were scattered around.

Generally speaking, after such a devastating collision, finding human remains would already be considered a miracle. Nonetheless, the Chancellor kept searching for traces. In his mind, seeing was believing. Unfortunately, even splitting the sea of magma apart, he could still not find the slightest body part of Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

After some time, the Chancellor frowned and shook his head. He also came to the conclusion that after the collision, an explosion followed, sublimating everything. Flesh, bones, clothes, shoes, and socks, even the metal buckle on the clothes, would all disappear completely.

“He is probably dead.” Upon realizing that he was too nervous, the Chancellor suppressed the uneasiness in his heart.

“The kiddo actually chose to commit suicide so easily. Sigh, not even his bones were spared. Unfortunately, he took all his secrets to the grave… It's a pity!” muttered the Chancellor in a depressed tone.

Although the Chancellor possessed Battle Angel and was invincible in the world, he had yet to uncover the mystery behind life and death, as well as to achieve the ultimate evolution of the human body, rendering it immortal. He would still be defeated by his greatest enemy—time!

In the end, the Chancellor had failed to s.n.a.t.c.h Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s things and uncover his secrets. Seeing that the mountain had started to collapse, while the pa.s.sage had been blocked, the Chancellor could only rise in the air continuously and avoid the falling boulders. If he were to stay there, the Chancellor would sooner or later be buried underneath the huge boulders.

Suddenly, an earth-splitting sound reverberated throughout the ground, like when a 10-magnitude earthquake struck, and then the dome, which weighed hundreds of millions of tons, inside the mountain completely collapsed, burying everything.

At the same time, the Chancellor struggled to dodge the crus.h.i.+ng boulders, das.h.i.+ng outside at breakneck speed.

BOOM!

The ongoing catastrophe's deafening sounds traveled through the sky. Even parts of the land crumbled apart, falling in the sea and generating destructive sea waves! Millions of tons of seawater set off hill-like waves in every direction. If one were to witness that spectacle from afar, they'd think the island was about to sink!

In just ten minutes, the sea was filled with the remains of destruction, while the middle of the island was swallowed by the ocean, turning it into the shape of a half-moon.

Presently, the Chancellor suspended at an alt.i.tude of 1,000 meters. He had been quietly witnessing the huge changes in the island with a gloomy face. Jiang Lius.h.i.+ was dead, but the relics were also destroyed. Although Genesis had already stopped all research involving the island, the Chancellor had been holding hope that he could find some valuable things in the future.

Unfortunately, everything was gone now. It was also impossible to search for Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s body.

Unexpectedly, the Chancellor stayed around the area for a full month until he made sure that nothing abnormal would occur.
