Chapter 622 - The Nine Sun Quartz’s Whereabouts

Chapter 622: The Nine Sun Quartz’s Whereabouts

Ye Yuzhou wasn’t the exception; everyone else shared the same opinion toward monsters.

“Monsters are so unpredictable that we can’t trust most of them,” said Old Tian and Black Crow in agreement. It was normal for a villainous expert like Black Crow to rub shoulders with many characters in his industry. Even in his community, the humans and monsters were divided and both factions were wary of each other. They never got along at all.

“You’re all worrying too much.” Feng Ziqian chuckled. “I have personally visited the Dark Wind Monster Sect, and weren’t you there too, Commander Zhao?”

Zhao Jingyan nodded.

Feng Ziqian continued, “These monster cultivators aren’t much different from humans. It’s just that their primal instincts are harder to control. However, if they have an expert to guide them, they would become civilized and reasonable like us human beings. I saw with my own eyes that many of the powerful monsters in the sect were behaving in an upright manner. They didn’t seem at all different from humans. In fact, I think some of us might even lose a philosophical debate with these monsters.”

Feng Ziqian wasn’t exaggerating and everyone else nodded in agreement.

These people came from all walks of life. Some were cruel villainous experts with fiery tempers while others were carefree and knowledgeable. However, it didn’t matter who they were, since everyone was eventually ‘educated’ by Curator when they arrived at the Visitation Hall. They were expected to obey Curator’s rules.

The same must have happened out there on Arid Continent

Just like the two immortals from before, they too were obediently waiting for Curator now.

Speaking of which, Black Crow, Ye Yuzhou, and the others turned to look at them.

As they didn’t have much in common, they merely greeted the immortals this time without striking a conversation with them. However, the immortals weren’t putting on airs. The others were equally shocked by the fact that they were seeing real immortals with their own eyes.

This was mind-blowing news. If word got out, a commotion was sure to arise across the many continents.

Interestingly enough, none of the guests told anyone about the fact that immortals were still extant in this world. After all, before doing such a thing, they had to gain Curator’s express permission.

If they started spreading the word and Curator got annoyed with them, that would be terrible.

Qin Yushang was standing straight, poised and proper in her immortal’s dress. With a faint smile on her face, she silently stared at the metal door on the second floor.

Chen Xuankong did almost the same.

The last time they returned from the Visitation Hall, they both reported what they learned here to the elders of their respective sects. The two great immortal sects, Immortal Cloud and Mystery Dao took this matter incredibly seriously.

In fact, in the past week, they had carried out a series of investigations. Even when they tried to lay down restrictions in advance, they couldn’t stop nor delay the Visitation Hall’s door from opening.

That was very mystical.

According to their sect elders, Curator’s ability to transport them somewhere else had far exceeded their competence. In other words, Curator’s cultivation level was above theirs.

“Curator might just be an unfettered immortal!” said Mystery Dao Sect’s leading immortal.

Considering this possibility, the two sects came to revere the Visitation Hall even more. They even went as far as to instruct Qin Yunshang and Chen Xuankong to obey Curator’s rules. The next time they entered the hall, they were to gather more information on Curator and try to establish friendly relations.

In fact, after Qin Yunshang bowed and entered the Visitation Hall, the leading immortal of the Immortal Cloud Sect, Xuan Yue, performed an immortal spell to try opening the space by force.

She made only one attempt and her spell immediately bounced back. Immortal Xuan Yue wore a strange look on her face. She appeared to be a little apprehensive from what she detected

‘Why … Why is there an aura of heaven?’ Immortal Xuan Yue mused. Her mind was turbulent with emotions and she couldn’t calm down.

Inside the Visitation Hall, after a brief chatter on the guests’ part, the metal door finally opened.

Immediately, the lively hall fell into pin-drop silence. Out of habit, the experienced guests straightened up to show their respect and pure admiration.

The two newcomers took notice of this too.

Although they had seen this the last time, they felt it more deeply this time.

After all, they were startled by what their sect elders told them, that Curator was probably an unfettered immortal.

Half immortal, profound immortal, and unfettered immortal.

Whoever could reach this level of immortality was worthy of their respect. Furthermore, now that the path of immortality was gone, the scarce few immortal sects could only delay their demise in the extraterritorial area. Even if they were to band together, there might not even be one unfettered immortal among them.

Back in the day, unfettered immortals were everywhere in the Nine-Heaven. However, when the great tragedy struck, these immortals perished. Only a handful of them survived and most of them were in seclusion. For centuries, they have produced no signs of activity.

Boasting a more profound history, the Mystery Dao Sect was rumored to have one unfettered immortal in their ranks but he too had gone into seclusion indefinitely. The Immortal Cloud Sect had lost their unfettered immortal so the highest rank among them were the profound immortals. Compared to the peak of their prosperity, their current state was a hundred times worse.

For this reason, Qin Yunshang and Chen Xuankong showed Curator great respect.

“Greetings, Curator!”

“Welcome, Curator!”

The guests greeted.

Lin Jin looked around and saw the two immortals. He had come here hoping to obtain the nine sun quartz so these immortals might just be his last hope.

After all, no one else had ever heard of this item before.

Still, he had to think of an appropriate way to make the request.

As Lin Jin was in Curator’s identity now, he couldn’t reveal his desires. He had to put on airs when the time called for it.

The session began with good ol’ questions and answers. Both immortals fought to speak first. One explained that the immortal beast of their elder couldn’t wake up for reasons unknown, while the other asked how an immortal beast should be treated if injured.

As this was only their second time here, the immortals weren’t familiar with how things worked.

For instance, to raise questions, they had to provide a DNA sample of the creature they intended to ask about. Only then could Curator appraise the creature and give them an answer.

Yet, the two immortals were oblivious, or rather, they had forgotten about it. Anyway, they came here empty-handed.

Lin Jin thought that perhaps he had failed to make himself clear during their last session. Hence, he took this opportunity to repeat the rules of the Visitation Hall.

When Qin Yunshang and Chen Xuankong heard what he said, they nodded immediately. “We’ve been negligent. Taoist Ye did mention this to us the last time but we forgot.”

By ‘Taoist Ye’, they were referring to Ye Yuzhou.
