Chapter 590: The Water God Cult’s Destruction – Part 2

Ghost Water Taoist knew full well that Black Water Taoist was the strongest in the Water Gold Cult. In terms of pure strength, he had at most eighty percent of what Black Water Taoist possessed.

Now that even his master had fallen, it was clear that he shouldn’t be able to hold out much longer.

Ghost Water Taoist flew over to grab hold of Black Water Taoist, stuffing a pill into his mouth. His master’s face was twisted in pain, but after swallowing the pill, the creases on his face were ironed out.

“Ghost Water, Red Water, the enemy is too strong. Our Water God Cult is on the verge of destruction so use the Three Water Beast Combination. This is our last chance,” said Black Water Taoist who regained some of his energy. Looks like they would be going out with a bang.

“Understood!” Ghost Water Taoist could understand his decision. The enemy was just too powerful, and if they hesitated, they wouldn’t even be alive to fight back anymore.

“Start the formation! Perform the Three Water Beast Combination!” commanded Ghost Water Taoist with great resolution. Down below, Red Water Taoist immediately produced an amulet and activated it.

In an instant, yellow sand began to accumulate. It formed a dome shield that blocked off the entire Water God Cult from its surroundings.

Before the sand gathered, Black Water Taoist and Ghost Water Taoist already retreated into the formation.

Seeing this, Lin Jin pursued them at once. However, the sand formation came so swiftly that he was blocked outside of it due to slight hesitation.

“The Water God Cult has been in operation for centuries. It’s not strange for them to have some tricks up their sleeve!” said Lin Jin to himself. Speaking of which, Lin Jin couldn’t tell how this sand formation worked. He had to admit, the Water God Cult was somewhat capable.

“Hmph, it’s just a bunch of sand. I’ll break through it right now.” Tiger Taoist, who had been itching for action, couldn’t hold back anymore. Taking on the form of a large humanoid tiger, his body grew up to thirty feet tall. He then swiped his three-foot-long tiger claws, unleashing blades of dark wind against the sand dome.

Pshh!

A few deep slashes cut through the sand formation, proving how powerful Tiger Taoist’s wind slash was. However, the yellow sand swiftly filled up the gaps, rendering his attack pointless.

Refusing to give in, Tiger Taoist continued attacking the dome in an attempt to break the sand formation. Even after a few attacks, the sand formation could still quickly repair itself. Since it was a test of endurance, Tiger Taoist’s strength was quickly depleted.

“Black Water Taoist! How strong can you be by hiding inside there? Come out if you dare!” Tiger Taoist called.

Taunting the enemy didn’t work.

Black Water Taoist wasn’t the type of idiot who would foolishly come out just because someone was calling him a coward. Tiger Taoist knew that too. He could only stare helplessly at the sand formation.

“Who knew that the Water God Cult had some strength after all,” said Tiger Taoist to Lin Jin.

He was referring to the sand formation.

Indeed, this sand formation was remarkable. Although it served a purely defensive function, it did its job incredibly well. Truth be told, Lin Jin’s offensive capabilities probably paled in comparison to Tiger Taoist, and since even Tiger Taoist couldn’t break the sand formation, Lin Jin didn’t think he could either.

Sand kept swirling around the formation, and whenever an opening appeared, it would be easily filled up. It had a continuous supply and the process seemed to be able to go on forever. Unless they could destroy the entire sand formation in one blow, the formation would continue to regenerate itself.

Just as Tiger Taoist had said, since the Water God Cult had been around for centuries, it was impossible that they were this weak.

But this was all. Lin Jin didn’t think much of Black Water Taoist’s cultivation either. He was just so-so with nothing spectacular to show for. One redeeming point was his Rank 5 pet beast, which posed quite a challenge. Its rarity and function made it comparable to his blood ghost. If Lin Jin didn’t have two Rank 5 pet beasts, fighting Black Water Taoist would be much tougher.

“What do we do now? I heard him say he’s gonna use something called the Three Water Beast Combination. Are we really gonna wait for them to do so?” asked Tiger Taoist after returning from another round of attacks.

This Three Water Beast Combination didn’t sound too pleasant. Although Lin Jin didn’t know what the actual spell did, since it was something they would use during moments of desperation, it had to be their biggest trump card.

If he could stop it, he certainly would. Lin Jin may be confident, but his faith wasn’t exactly deep.

Just then, Lin Jin sensed something.

Stunned, he turned to look at Dark Wind Cave in the distance.

“Brother Lin, what is it?” asked Tiger Taoist, who was quick to notice his odd behavior.

Lin Jin closely his eyes to detect that reaction before saying, “Wonderful. I was just thinking that we would need an incredibly sharp sword to slice through the entire formation. I think I have found the right sword for that purpose.”

Tiger Taoist was still somewhat confused when a blinding ray of light suddenly rose into the sky in the distance. To his disbelief, it was heading their way.

“That is…” Tiger Taoist’s eyes widened. After taking a closer look at it, he could finally tell.

It was Clear Wind Sword.

However, this Clear Wind Sword was a little different from the one Tiger Taoist knew. Clear Wind was carrying an incredulously sharp aura on him.

It was a Sword Intent.

A heaven-piercing Sword Intent that felt capable of slicing through anything and everything.

The blade shone, and suddenly, the Clear Wind Sword appeared in Lin Jin’s hand.

Back at Dark Wind Cave, Lin Jin had taught Clear Wind the Divine Blade Scroll. The latter then entered a mystifying state and Lin Jin knew he must be cultivating and digesting the Divine Blade Scroll.

Now, he must have achieved a breakthrough.

Holding the sword in his hand, a purple aura surged around the blade. Its body trembled in Lin Jin’s grip as if it was thanking him.

He evolved!

Lin Jin could distinctly sense that Clear Wind had evolved. Right now, he was comparable to even Shu Xiaolou. Prior to this, Clear Wind was far inferior compared to a spirit like her.

“Looks like the Divine Blade Scroll has been useful to you,” said Lin Jin.

Then, he thrusted the blade forward. “Go, hack away this sand formation before us. The people inside have all committed unforgivable crimes. If they beg for mercy, spare them. However, if they resist, kill them!”

Upon receiving Lin Jin’s orders, Clear Wind Sword emitted a screech before darting out of its sheathe. It slashed into the air a couple of times before piercing forward.

The sand formation seemed to sense a threat so it began to thicken up its defensive layer.

However, given the sharpness of Clear Wind Blade, an invisible Sword Intent came crashing down before the sword even physically touched the formation. The massive sandy walls were split open in an instant.
