Chapter 456 - RiChapter Young Master

Chapter 456: Rich Young Master

That person hadn’t expected Lin Jin to notice his actions when they were clearly being distracted. He was dumbstruck when he realized that his wrist was caught in Lin Jin’s grip.

After his initial shock, the man immediately turned aggressive.

“Let go,” he shouted as he tried to yank his hand away at full force. However, he was shocked to find that Lin Jin’s grip was like iron tongs. It was so forceful that he couldn’t free himself no matter how hard he tried.

Realizing this, his accomplices began yelling and causing a ruckus.

“F*ck! Let go! Let go, right now! Ah, ah ouch, it hurts!”

Lin Jin merely exerted a little more force and that man started crying out in pain. The person who staged the accident immediately noticed something was off so he got ready to take action.

Gu Mengzhong could tell they were in cahoots so, following a smirk, he raised his leg to kick the man who charged at them.

“Let’s see which one of you is next.”

The pet beasts of these goons started roaring one after another. Gu Mengzhong patted his gourd and the ink monster morphed into a blade. It was obvious that a fight was going to break out so the pedestrians around them quickly scattered to give them some space.

Lin Jin extended his other hand to take away the man’s amulet before letting him go.

Although he released the man, Lin Jin left a silver needle in his arm so the man’s entire limb fell limp at his side.

“Brat, it looks like you have a death wish!” Unable to move his arm, the man was both anxious and irritated so he started hurling abusive remarks instead.

By then, Lin Jin had understood the function of this amulet.

“Amazing. To think there’s something like this in this world.” After Lin Jin got his answer from the museum, his curiosity was piqued.

The scribbles on the amulet were made with beast blood so the soul of a certain beast lingered on the item. The scribbles were new to Lin Jin but the museum was able to decipher them for Lin Jin to understand what it was.

“Blood Severance Beast Amulet, able to conceal and even break a blood pact in a short amount of time.”

A tool like this was certainly an indispensable magic treasure to rob someone of their pet beast.

Apart from that, this amulet could also briefly alter a person’s blood contract. For instance, it could confuse the pet beast into acknowledging the user as its master.

Just as Lin Jin was in shock, someone else suddenly came over and deftly tossed an amulet over. In an instant, the amulet got stuck on Senior Mo who couldn’t react in time. Then, that person grabbed and carried Senior Mo in his arms.

He came so swiftly that it was too fast for the human eye to register what had even happened. Even Lin Jin failed to react in time.

The humans of this world shouldn’t be underestimated.

Especially when they were in Heavenly Spiral City were experts galore. Focusing on the man’s skill and speed, if his intention wasn’t to snatch Senior Mo away but to attack Lin Jin, Lin Jin figured he would have had a hard time fending the man off.

The man carrying Senior Mo was an extravagantly dressed young master. His expression was that of conceit and arrogance while his features were somewhat androgynous. He was definitely a man but had the delicate features of a woman. A jade piece hung around his waist and his hair was combed back and secured with a gold accessory. His coordination was surely effeminate and noble.

Among the crowd, the bald shopkeeper immediately hurried forward to bow respectfully at the sight of this person.

“Boss, what are you doing here?” Not only was the bald shopkeeper respectful, but he was also visibly frightened.

As if this effeminate rich young master was a horrifying demon.

“What am I doing here?” A devilish grin appeared on the rich young master’s face before he gave the bald shopkeeper a tight slap. “If I didn’t show up, you all would have botched this mission. But it’s not like you’re completely useless. For identifying this Rank 4 jade dragon, I’ll let you off the hook this time.”

The bald shopkeeper revealed an expression of gratitude.

“I’m leaving. I’ll leave the rest to you.” Having said that, the rich young master turned to leave.

“Stand right there!”

Lin Jin found it amusing how this person paid no mind to him at all. He clearly had a solid background to support his actions so he could do things without caring about the consequences.

Besides egotism and insolence, they only acted because they were confident that a foreigner like Lin Jin couldn’t do anything worthwhile to them.

The rich young master paused without turning back, only revealing his gorgeous side profile to say, “Foreigner, you’re trying to say that this is your pet beast and we’re snatching it away in broad daylight. You may report this to the authorities but it’s a fact that this creature isn’t your pet beast because there’s no blood contract between you two. I will have the upper hand in this situation, so if you are smart enough, heed my advice and save your breath.”

The young lad couldn’t have been any clearer with his words.

He had used a unique amulet on Senior Mo that could sever a pet beast’s blood contract within seconds, so under most circumstances, the blood contract owner would lose control over his pet beast and they would fail to utilize the strength of their blood pact.

This situation was comparable to catching someone red-handed as they were stealing your purse, only to end up being interrogated by the shameless thief himself.

The thief would always say, “You claim this purse belongs to you but is your name written on it? If you call for it, would it respond to you?”

It was the same trick.

This was a blatant trap.

However, Lin Jin wasn’t angry. Not only was he not angry, but he also affirmed the statement of his enemy. “Indeed, Old Mo and I aren’t bound by a blood contract so he’s not my pet beast.”

Old Mo?

The rich lad realized that he was referring to the dark jade dragon.

However, it was his first time seeing someone ‘back off’ so easily.

Yet, just as the rich lad was thinking, Senior Mo couldn’t take it anymore.

Prior to this, he had been focused on a crucial point of his cultivation research so he was unable to keep up with what was happening around him. Just as he was about to reach an understanding, someone abruptly stuck something on him and lifted him from the ground.

His train of thought was interrupted just like that.

When he regained his senses, Senior Mo realized he was being carried away and that human even uttered a bunch of nonsense.

“B*stard, why are you carrying me?” Old Mo simply scolded. He was more angered by the fact that his thoughts were disrupted than the fact that he had just been abducted.

However, his words simply startled the rich lad.

As if he had just seen a ghost, he quickly tossed Senior Mo away with a frightened look on his face. “A beast that can speak the human language. Y-You’re a monster!”

What a surprise. This rich young master was actually pretty knowledgeable.

No one could form blood contracts with monsters and it was then the rich lad realized that Lin Jin didn’t say those words to back off. He was telling the truth and this dark jade dragon wasn’t his pet beast.

With this, his Blood Severance Beast Amulet was rendered utterly useless. He couldn’t use the amulet’s powers to make the beast obey him by controlling its blood pact.

‘A miscalculation!’ This thought appeared in the rich lad’s mind.

However, he was still a prominent figure of Heavenly Spiral City who had experienced many things. He had now lost interest in taking Senior Mo away.

A jade dragon beast was great stuff but a jade dragon monster wasn’t.

Monsters couldn’t form blood pacts so there was no value in keeping them.

Also, being capable of having a monster follow him obediently proved how formidable that young man was.

The rich young master was a profit-driven businessman. If the deal wasn’t profitable, he wouldn’t be interested in doing it.

To him, these people no longer had any value. Having no value meant there were no profits.

So, he scoffed and turned to leave.

“Trying to leave? Dream on!” Gu Mengzhong lifted a finger and the ink blade in his hand shot out. The ease with which the young man’s despicable actions came and went irritated Gu Mengzhong.

“I can come and go as I please. Who can stop me?” The rich lad smirked and waved his hand, sending the ink blade back with an ingenious move.

His actions were suave and he then continued making his way forward, his figure transforming as he disappeared into the crowd.

Once he was gone, the people who staged an accident earlier together with the bald shopkeeper scattered away as well. Gu Mengzhong wanted to pursue them but Lin Jin stopped him.

“Master Gu, didn’t you say that the strongest dragons cannot defeat snakes in their own lair? Don’t go after them.”
