Chapter 324: Gu Yunxuan

Chapter 324: Gu Yunxuan

“I don’t think this Second Young Master is a bad person.”

Both of them were the young masters of the Gu Mansion, yet one of them was so annoying, the other kind. The Gu Mansion was generally a horrible place, yet some children were okay.

Before she could finish the words, Qing jabbed at Sword One, warning her not to say anything more.

Now Sword One realized that she had made a mistake.

The Gu Family might be a wonderful family, but her Miss was also part of the Gu Family. She would be unhappy to hear what she said.

“Miss, I don’t mean that.” Sword One said apologetically.

“It is fine, you are right.” Gu Chaoyan said carelessly. And she even thought that Sword One was even being polite saying things like that. Then she started to think about Gu Yunxuan.

She searched her own memories about this man. Honestly, it seemed that Gu Yunxuan was the only one who would slightly care about Gu Chaoyan and shared some food with her. However, Gu Yunxuan was not having an easy time here at the Gu Mansion either.

His mother was a concubine who passed away when he was little. Mrs. Gu was not treating him nicely, and the reason why he survived to this age was because Madame Gu cared a little more about him.

If he offered that kindness, Gu Chaoyan felt that she should repay him.

She thought for a while and said, “Let’s visit him in his yard.”

Sword One nodded.

Gu Chaoyan went to his place with the two girls.

Gu Yunxuan’s yard was not very far away from Gu Chaoyan’s. Both of them belonged to an isolated place. Mrs. Gu did not like him, so he was not given a good yard, but Madame Gu took his side, so he had a slightly better life than she did.

He only had one maid who was responsible for taking care of his daily life, so the yard was quite shabby. Due to his absence, the yard was barely cleaned and many trees in the yard died.

Gu Chaoyan shook her head slightly. She had to ask Qing to pass on the message when no maid was available to inform him of her arrival.

Knowing that Gu Chaoyan was here, Gu Yunxuan came running outside with a book in hand. He was a bit surprised. “Chaoyan?”

Gu Chaoyan nodded. “Second Brother!”

Gu Yunxuan checked out Gu Chaoyan from head to foot. Then he smiled brightly.

When he left home, Chaoyan was still chubby and tanned, not that beautiful. He had been worried that Chaoyan would not be able to marry anyone in the future, but now... unexpectedly, she was skinny and had snowy-white skin. Her eyes were sparkling too.

“You have become beautiful.” Gu Yunxuan said sincerely.

“Oh really?” Gu Chaoyan smiled briefly. That was the difference between Gu Yunxuan and Gu Yunhe. The former sized her up carefully whilst the latter did not want to take one more look at her. The former truly made her feel the warmth of family.

Then she took over Gu Yunxuan’s book. She threw a look at the cover.

“You are reading military strategies?” Gu Chaoyan asked casually.

“Yes! Actually, I enjoyed life in the army, but Madame Gu wrote to us that we had to come home. Otherwise, the army was great.” Gu Yunxuan said with a smile. At least, he was like the other soldiers – practising and completing the missions. He was not some concubine’s son who was doomed not to achieve anything himself other than to help his brother.

He could help his brother, but his brother never regarded him as a brother. He always considered himself better than him, so he was not so happy to accept that opinion.

He sighed. Maybe that was what life would be like in the future – he had to follow his brother’s orders.

“What is it, Second Brother?” Gu Chaoyan asked with concern.
