Chapter 1031 - Huo Tingrui In Trouble

Huo Yao was starting to feel that something was amiss after calling Huo Tingrui several times.

She remembered smelling medicinal ointment coming from him last night. After she made fun of him, she became distracted. When he went upstairs, she felt surprised by the way he looked from behind.

In hindsight, his shoulder was probably hurt.

Huo Yao had already gone downstairs by the time Huo Changfeng came back.

She took out her phone as she headed out. Before long, she found the number for Huo Tingrui's a.s.sistant and dialed it.

The a.s.sistant answered the phone quickly. The moment he heard Huo Yao's voice, he did not even stop to wonder why she was calling. Instead, he anxiously said, "Your brother was taken by them. I don't know where they have taken him. They simply called me to prepare the doc.u.ments"

The a.s.sistant spoke incoherently. After Huo Yao got the gist of the story, she acknowledged him and hung up the phone.

There was a serious look on her face.

"Miss Huo, shouldn't you be upstairs?" Chen Ming happened to be on his way downstairs when he encountered Huo Yao in the main hall. He hurriedly walked over towards her.

Huo Yao acknowledged him mildly on hearing Chen Ming's voice. She kept typing on the phone screen without even raising her head.

Chen Ming felt startled when he caught the cold look on Huo Yao's face. He recalled Huo Changfeng asking him to find out where Huo Tingrui was and had a bad feeling about it. He walked up beside Huo Yao.

Huo Yao did not bother hiding from Chen Ming. The moment he saw her phone screen, his pupils constricted.

Huo Yao quickly put away her phone and turned to look at Chen Ming before looking at his car keys. "Uncle Ming, lend me the car."

"Of course. Here you go." After Chen Ming snapped out of his surprise, he hurriedly handed her the keys. "Did something happen to Young Master Tingrui?"

Huo Yao hummed softly without explaining in detail. She simply walked out with the car keys.

She walked so swiftly that it left her coat fluttering. When they went through the rotating doors, her face could be seen reflecting in the gla.s.s and there was not a single drop of warmth on it.

Chen Ming hurriedly followed behind Huo Yao. He raised his head and looked at her profile. For some reason, he could detect a terrifying aura radiating from Miss Huo.

Chen Ming squeezed his hands and quickly said with his eyes lowered, "The car is over there."

Huo Yao unlocked the car and got into the driver's seat. Chen Ming was worried that something bad might have happened to Huo Tingrui, so he got into the car without hesitation.

The car drove out of the open-air parking lot before long.

Huo Yao stepped on the gas all the way and drove at top speed. She sped past many cars as she went straight for an abandoned house located in the suburbs.

Chen Ming sat in the pa.s.senger seat with one hand on the car door handle. Upon scrutiny, his legs were trembling slightly.

He raised his head and glanced at Miss Huo sitting in the driver's seat. Her black coat accentuated her cool aura. She drove with one arm leaning on the car door and looked nonchalant and intimidating.

Chen Ming veered his eyes when his phone rang in his pocket. He hurriedly took out his phone and answered it. "Chief Steward, that's right. Miss Huo and I are heading for the northern suburbs. Okay."

The car pulled up into an alley roughly ten minutes later.. Since this area was due to be demolished, there was almost no one in sight and the red word 'demolition' was written in red on the wall.
