371 Big Reveal 2

Chen Linyun just told Kang Sola some shocking news.  It was beyond anyone's wildest imagination.

"Are you sure?" She whispered barely audibly. She was already crying silently, yet her tears intensified even more.  There was no sobbing at all, but her tears flowed like waterfalls.  Her eyes were wide open, aghast and surprised at the same time.

Her Fengyu-Oppa?

Chen Linyun told her about the controversial The Great Adventurer – the cruise s.h.i.+p that keeled over about two years ago.  That one Kang Sola had personal memories on because she used to be aboard that cruise s.h.i.+p.  She even helped Xue Guangxi look for evidence and possible hints on the culprit who turned out to be the captain.  It was the time when Xue Guangxi and herself had not been in good terms, and that incident somewhat mended and offset ill-feelings between them.  It was the start of their friends.h.i.+p.

Now, Chen Linyun was saying that the person behind it was her other brother, her Fengyu-Oppa who's using another name in this country.

"Yes.  He owned too it."  Chen Linyun went towards the master's bedroom where he and his wife used to stay.  He opened a drawer and retrieved a recording pen.  He played the content for his sister to hear.  Surely, she could distinguish the voice.

---

"Yes, I arranged the capsizing of The Great Adventurer.  You like it?" There was a pause.  The guy was seemingly waiting for her response, but he got none, so he continued. "See, I made sure you weren't on board when it happened.  How thoughtful of me, don't you think?"

---

Chen Linyun paused the recording.

A hand hovered lightly across her mouth.  Incredulity downed over her whole existence.

"And…"

Chen Linyun captured Kang Sola's hands and clasped them both with his ever so tightly.  When he decided to tell Kang Sola everything, he truly meant everything.  What do people say, better down it in one go?

"You've heard about what happened with your friend, Guangxi before?   …He was kidnapped when he was around fifteen or sixteen."

She definitely heard bits and pieces of that incident but did not know what exactly happened back then.

Kang Sola could remember what the girl, Su Jingjing told her the first time she met her at the women's center aged back.  She could hear her voice inside her head.

Head bowed down, the girl said, "I think it's better if you ask him.  What I can share is my side, my perspective.  I… I was his first love, and he was mine, too… But, I betrayed his trust.  My uncle tried to kill him years ago.  He used me as a bait, a puppet to lure him out of the Xue Family's protection.  It was a simple slip, yet it almost… almost… took his life…"

Chen Linyun continued.  "s.h.i.+ Fan Hai is also behind Xue Guangxi's abduction.  Guangxi and Jinxu know of this."

"But, Su Jingjing said it's her uncle who tried to kill Guangxi…" She simply threw out her memory into the open, in her defense to her other brother.

Chen Linyun played the recording again.  This time he did not pause it.  It was the voice of a man and a woman in conversation.

---

"Yes, I arranged the capsizing of The Great Adventurer.  You like it?" There was a pause.  The guy was seemingly waiting for a response, but he got none, so he continued. "See, I made sure you weren't on board when it happened.  How thoughtful of me, don't you think?"

"First, you sabotaged the launch of MT Dragon Heart, and abducted my little brother Guangxi, now this!  What else will you do?  When will you stop?"

"I won't stop until I get what I want." He darkly chuckled.

---

"Is it really him?"

The two men nodded their heads in affirmation.

"I don't want to hear anymore."  Kang Sola bawled her eyes out.  She cried silently for hours, wiping her eyes with her handkerchief once in a while.

The two men were baffled and stayed silent, too.  They were not in a good position nor were they the most qualified to comfort a young eighteen-year-old crying girl.

Once in a while, they simply look at each other and exchanged helpless glances.

They endured the feat until it was around five in the afternoon.

Chen Linyun's mobile phone rang loudly, seemingly disturbing the solemn grieving atmosphere at Apartment 301.  It was Xue Jinxu, reminding him of the dinner at the Xue mansion.  She ranted for a bit about not wanting Teng Man Rui at all, then hung up.

"…."

After the call, Chen Linyun had to leave.  However, he's worried to leave Kang Sola at this state.

The two men went outside Apartment 301 for a while.

"I need to leave, Wenbin.  I need to accompany Xue Jinxu at the in-laws'."

"Married life sure is demanding, huh?  I'll handle it here.  Maybe I'll call Mother?  She's still crying."

"Geez, is that how you'll handle it?"

"Mother's better than me in this field.  By the way, why is she crying over the truth?  Does she care for Guangxi that much?  Are they…"

"No!" Chen Linyun was annoyed by this side comment.

"If not, then not!" Mo Wenbin threw his hands in the air in surrender. "So sensitive!  Seems to me that Xue Jinxu rubbed her temper onto you. It's such a puzzle to me, though."

Chen Linyun rolled his eyes.  He had forgotten that Mo Wenbin did not know yet Kang Sola's relation to s.h.i.+ Fan Hai, so he told him nonchalantly and in a matter-of-factly way.

"Holy c.r.a.p!  Is it true?"

"Yes.  I understand now.  And you… You too?  That man's sibling?"

"Seems to be."  He scowled in the air. "I'm completely, utterly disgusted by it.  That despicable, abominable man is a blood relation.  I want to deny it, but what can it do?  It's already there.  Keep it a secret.  Jinxu doesn't know yet."

Mo Wenbin slapped his head. "It's going to be catastrophic."

"I know." He exhaled sharply, quite exhausted.

"Okay, you go ahead and leave.  I'll handle things here." Mo Wenbin somehow wanted to be of help to his friend and cousin.

After saying his goodbye to Kang Sola, and giving her shoulder consolatory taps, and a promise to talk about it again if she wants to, he left the place and his sister under Mo Wenbin's watchful eyes and care.

"I'm sorry." Were his last words to her as he turned around and left Apartment 301.
