He reached the place where Kang Sola was staying pretty smoothly. He stayed across the building, and patiently waited for her.

For hours and hours, he stood, squatted, sat on his ankles, stood again, sat on the gutter, alternately and repeatedly while checking on the abode across the street. He double checked the address again and again just to be sure that he got it right. Well, everytime he checked, he got the same answer: he's at the right place.

However there weren't any signs of Kang Sola.

'I'm going to stay here until the morning. Maybe she's inside already. She's bound to leave the accommodation by morning. I have to see her no matter what.'

Few more hours pa.s.sed. A number of people entered the edifice across the street. At around half past nine, a cab stopped right in front of the building.

There she was – Kang Sola disembarking from the cab.

But wait, she wasn't alone. A guy – the same guy from the video – disembarked from the cab after her.

'So they were together.' Xue Guangxi squinted his eyes.

The next scene pierced his consciousness sharply.

The guy playfully hovered his arms around Kang Sola. She was smiling, giving him permission to hug her. The lad, having had his permission, proceeded in wrapping his arms around the young maiden which in turn, giggled at their interaction. The young lad seemed to whisper something in her ear, which made her frozen for a good few seconds before her pink lips broke into a smile again. After that, the young lad leaned forward and kissed Kang Sola. It was short and brief, and afterwards, the guy bid his farewell to her who was still smiling.

All this while, Xue Guangxi was glaring at the scene. He felt heated in his chest area, and he could swear he could see red with his eyes. But no matter how much he was hurting with what he had witnessed, he could not turn away his gaze.

There he was, feeding himself dogfood from the lady his heart was beating for, with the lad she chose herself. Oh, apparently that lad wasn't him. He was washed down with extreme sadness, mixed with anger, frustration and annoyance.

He crossed the street hurriedly.

"Sola." He called her quietly. The night was solemn making his voice audible enough.

Kang Sola turned towards the direction of the voice. Upon seeing Xue Guangxi, she took two steps back almost reflexively, her face adorned with a frown, albeit for a few seconds only. She recovered fast, and masked her face with a cold expression. She wasn't looking at him, rather she planted her gaze on the ground.

"What are you doing here?" She said.

"Sola, can we talk? Are you still mad at me? Let's reconcile." Xue Guangxi said almost pleadingly. He extended his hand to reach for her arm, but Kang Sola took another step back.

He pinched the end of his nosebridge while closing his eyes for a good while. It was frustrating how Kang Sola was treating him. There was a vast difference from how she was with the guy she was previously with.

Xue Guangxi grabbed her wrist tightly and pulled it up in the air a little bit, just on eye-level. "Ouch, let me go! What do you want?! How did you find me?! Let me go!! HELP!! HELP!!!!"

Xue Guangxi released her wrist helplessly, rested both his hands on his knees, making his upper body lean forward and his face turned towards the ground. He started crying silently. Gritting his teeth, he knelt before her.

"Kang Sola, please forgive me, my insolence. I've seen your vlog, I've seen you with him. How come you were treating him so nicely, so sweetly when you're this cold to me?"

"I have asked for forgiveness myriads of times. I'm begging you, can we return to how we used to be?"

"Can you choose me instead of that guy you're seeing?"

"How come he won your favor so easily when you're being difficult with me?"

"It's not as if we don't know each other. You're the closest girl to me, the closest friend I have ever had. Just for a single mistake you have forsaken everything we have?"

"It's not as if we slept together or something." Xue Guangxi's rant was continuous.

Kang Sola was near giving him the forgiveness that he was asking. However, when she heard the last line, she lost her cool, and her mind blacked out. She erupted in her own anger.

"What did you say?!" She retorted. "It's not as if we slept together or something?!" She was fuming with rage.

"You were asking why I was so nice to him, and I'm cold to you? Because he's treating me nicely! You don't! You're such a jerk, Xue Guangxi! Before anything else, I have the right to be respected first! Respect first! Xue Guangxi! That's basic!"

"You think that my cruel treatment to you is unjustified? You think that what you did is a small matter only? You only think of yourself, Second Young Master! You are so insensitive!"

"I'm quite dubious whether I'm really a friend to you. Perhaps not! Maybe I'm simply some sort of a sidekick who comes to you at your beck and call! You treat me as if I'm lower than you, Second Young Master! I'm not your servant. I'm not one of your people! I am my own person!"

"Don't show yourself in front of me ever again!" She pushed him hard, turned around and entered the premise of her abode.

From his kneeling position, he sat limply on the ground. His tears continued to flow. He was angry, extremely angry. Clenched fists, he scolded himself internally. 'Why do I always say or do wrong things to Kang Sola?!'

'I'm stupid. I'm a jerk. She's right.'
