Nitrite of Amyl: inhaled will cut short a fit; if there is appreciable time between aura and fit will prevent it, and cut short status epilepticus.

Nitrite of Sodium: in _pet.i.t mal_ in 1 grn. dose thrice daily.

Nitroglycerin: like nitrite of amyl, but slightly slower in action.

Opium.

Paraldehyde: instead of bromides.

Phosphorus.

Physostigma.

Picrotoxin: weak and anemic type: or nocturnal attacks; must be persisted in.

Pota.s.sium Bromate.

Pota.s.sium Bromide.

Pota.s.sium Iodide: with bromide; alone in syphilitic history.

Pota.s.sium Nitrite.

Qua.s.sia: injections when due to worms.

Quinine.

Rubidium-Ammonium Bromide.
