Chapter 123 – What A Bold Demon

Xiang Qing neatly rolled his baggage and grabbed it to leave. I quickly took chase, but before I could even take several steps, a white shadow stopped in front of me — it was Yin Zi with an enraged expression.

“Meow woo~” I quickly rolled on the spot to expose my white belly to him.

Unfortunately, this move has been used too many times and is ineffective against Yin Zi raging fire. He heartlessly yanked my ears several times making me want to cry out in pain. Not just that, but he also grabbed me by the fur on my neck, and scolded, “You idiot, if I leave you alone for even a second, you will be making chaos!”

“Meow woo! Hurts, it hurts! You stupid crow, hurry up and let go!” I swung my claws up him to free myself from his grips. I said with injustice as I fell to the ground, “This time Miao Miao has a valid reason!”

“What dumb reason is it? Speak!”

“s.h.i.+fu wants to propose marriage with another woman!” I promptly shouted.

Yin Zi blankly stared at me, hesitated, and asked, “You must have made a misunderstood again, right?”

“He said that after he makes enough money for the woman to live comfortably, he will marry her. He had also said that the woman was from a wealthy family, and that he didn’t want her to suffer hards.h.i.+ps.” I quickly reported the situation.

Yin Zi pondered, “Could it be…..that it’s that woman called Yun Lan?”

“I don’t know. All I know is that right now I have to follow him to see what he’s up to! And see which woman he will meet!” I blatantly gave a response, “If we know our own situation as well as the enemy’s, we will guarantee ourselves victory.”

Yin Zi waved his hands to order me back into my human form, and hurried together with me in Xiang Qing’s direction, “We have an emergency situation, you should have told me earlier. I could’ve sent someone to gather information on who this home wrecker is.”

The speed at which we traveled was extremely quick. Before long, we’ve already caught with Xiang Qing who traveled first. Yin Zi dragged me along with him and said with a smile, “Brother Xiang, oh are you going somewhere?”

Xiang Qing was a little surprised to see the two of us. But after giving me a glance, the tone of his voice has changed and became nervous, “I…..I’m going to exterminate some demons nearby.”

“Very good!” Yin Zi joyously said, “We also wish to see how exterminating demons work. We’ve heard that Brother Xiang is quite competent in his abilities, how about you bring us along?”

“Not possible,” Xiang Qing’s refusal was very abrupt, “The place is far too dangerous, and the demons are horrific to look at. I do this often so…..I don’t wish to scare you.”

“I’m not afraid of demons.” I swiftly replied, “Miao Miao really likes demons…..”

Before I even finished my sentence, Yin Zi fiercely stepped on my foot, causing me to become silent and lower my head.

Hearing that I wasn’t afraid of demons, there was a tiny bit of happiness that showed on his face. He hurriedly restored that to a serious expression, “Demons are ferocious creatures, I’m afraid you’ll be hurt by them.”

“We’ll be careful.” Yin Zi added on, “Since we’ve become a part of Maoshan Sect, we wish to create a more peaceful world by exterminating demons and eliminating evildoers.”

Yin Zi wants to exterminate demons and eliminate evildoers? I stared at Yin Zi with disappointment. Didn’t you only beat demons who didn’t pay you tribute, and plus when you were unable to fight them off, you dragged Miao Miao to finish the battles for you. And whenever you fought, you’d either come back vomiting blood or with broken bones. Truly weak.

Eventually, Xiang Qing appeared to be moved by Yin Zi’s righteous and dignified speech and relented. He allowed us to join him with the promise that we only watch from a distance back and not allowed to go near danger. We quickly agreed.

Along the way, Yin Zi used all sorts of to gather information from Xiang Qing about why he suddenly wanted to earn money as well as why he was so anxious about it.

Xiang Qing only casually replied by saying that he needed to earn money to redeem the Demon Scouring Mirror so he could return it to his s.h.i.+fu.

Despite his stuttering and beads of cold sweat on his forehead, we knew his true purpose was to earn enough to propose marriage.

When Yin Zi mentioned the topic of Mu Yun Lan, he readily replied that although the girl had temper through the roof, she was diligent and willing to work hard. He said that the words that come out of her mouth may seem tough, but in fact she has a really soft heart. She was really sentimental and had placed her heart into everything she did. She was truly a good girl.

Finished, I really was done for.

Yin Zi angrily said that if his heart really was determined to marry someone else, then he would not be mine anymore. Understanding this fact really broke my heart into pieces.

As we arrived, Xiang Qing cautiously guarded us in front. In his hands were only some protective talismans and a useless wooden sword. The longer we stayed, the more I worried for his safety, but under my constant watch, there definitely should be any problems.

The smell of a nearby demon entered my sensitive nose, I didn’t know why it had a feeling of familiarity. Xiang Qing was a bit nervous as he explained, “The wealthy family that requested for our a.s.sistance said that the demon here was really vicious. It has killed many livestock and destroyed many plots of land, the fortunate thing being that it hasn’t killed anybody yet. The demonic force around us seems to getting stronger, so you guys must be careful.”

I was stunned to hear these words. To make a mortal man feel it’s demonic force, this should be a demon that has cultivated for about a thousand years…..a demon that has just developed a human body, how can it be very powerful? It’s still best to be cautious though.

Thus I silently extended my claws from within my sleeves and quietly followed behind Xiang Qing. Yin Zi’s face was full of nervousness, his eyes wandered left and right, most likely afraid that I would act out of character. My heart was a bit restless, a bit of me wanted to advance forward and steal the first move to attack from Xiang Qing…..

The rustling of the wind had caused the leaves to flutter down the branches. This town was embraced by the color of the night sky, it was silent without any sounds of dogs barking or chickens cuckooing. Xiang Qing explored the surrounding to search for signs of the demon, but was strangely unable to find any traces. I didn’t know why but Yin Zi acted as if he was scared and afraid, thus Xiang Qing had set up a defensive array around us.

Seeing that he had walked away, Yin Zi immediately let out a sigh of relief. He pointed to the right and whispered, “Look over there, the demon is there, my eyes are still the sharpest.”

I turned my head in that direction, and found a big guy dressed in leather and was over two meters tall. His messy face radiated a murderous aura as he held a giant ax as he stood hidden away by the woods.

Before I had said a single word, his blood-shot eyes moved out of the woods and headed towards me.
