Volume 1 Chapter 31

The second day.

When Lu Mengmeng woke up, she suddenly thought of a very important question. She grabbed Danjinos, who was drinking water. “I have a question to ask you!”

“Are you going to apologize to me for kicking me yesterday? It’s all right. I’m your husband, so I won’t be angry with you.” He waved his hand generously.

Lu Mengmeng pressed her head. “You deserve to be kicked. But I want to ask you something else.”

He looked at her and hinted that she could go on talking.

“You said before that mermen can fertilize 3,000 with sperms at a time, so how can they go to extinction? Shouldn’t your descendants be everywhere?” She looked at him doubtfully. After all, this problem was really troubling.

“In fact, after the second destruction of our civilization, the Earth Biosphere Alliance also thought so. We have a strong reproductive capacity and combat efficiency, so they give us the responsibility of monitoring the ecology. Therefore, every merman likes to travel, explore, and observe the ecology. One year, however, when I attended the annual Merman Conference, I found that I’m the only one left of the whole race. It’s really ridiculous!”

How could this happen?

It sounded like a fairy tale. Even if they liked to take risks, they were not going to be destroyed, were they?

What a horrible story!

“By the way, I have a virtual memoir. Would you like to see it with me?” Danjinos seized her wrist with sudden excitement as he offered the invitation.

“Virtual memoir?” It was the first she had heard this t.i.tle, and she seemed a little confused.

“It’s just like VR technology today; that’s to say, my memory is stored in SD cards in advance, so that I can play through VR at any time.” He gave a brief explanation, and Lu Mengmeng was startled again.

How could they store their memories?

G.o.d! How advanced was the science and technology of prehistoric humans?

When they came to his room, he reached out and touched her eyes. It seemed that he was putting something in them, but for her, she felt nothing.

“I have put a miniature VR device in your eyes just now. Now the virtual memoir is going to open. Are you ready?” As his voice sounded, a dense picture slowly emerged in front of her eyes. Soon, the picture began to become clearer and clearer, while the two of them seemed to be floating in mid-air. What’s more, the noise of wind could be heard in their ears.

“Where are we going?” She nervously grasped his right hand and dared not relax for a moment.

“We’re starting from 300 years ago when I started exploring around the world.” His voice reached her ear, and before she could reply, there was a feeling of rapidly falling.

“Ah!” Lu Mengmeng screamed nervously. Although the memoir of Danjinos was virtual, the impact on people’s sensory organs was true. It took a while for her to recover. She was standing on the ground of the rainforest. “Danjinos, where are you?”

She turned her head to look for any trace of him, but only saw a b.l.o.o.d.y mouth wide open. Before she could call for help, she was swallowed in one gulp.

It was dark before her eyes. Her whole body was in a narrow s.p.a.ce and she could hardly move.

“Danjinos, where are you?” she murmured with tears. At this moment, she was so nervous and helpless, and her tears quickly slid from the corner of the eye.

“I’m here!” Behind her, his voice came.

She was surprised but glad. She wanted to turn her head to look, but it was very narrow here and it was black before her eyes. “Where are we? What was that just now?” She opened her mouth and cried out.

“We’ve been swallowed by pythons, but that’s okay. I have a knife in my hand and I can take you out in a minute!” Danjinos was very confident. A few minutes later, he cut a long slit through the python’s body with a dagger. There was light around his head. He grabbed her hand and tried to bounce.

A red light flashed in mid-air. His long red hair was particularly s.h.i.+ning in the suns.h.i.+ne.

Lu Mengmeng felt the free wind in the air, and her tears fell down at once. “Great, we weren’t eaten by pythons!”

“Honey, this is my memoir. These things don’t really happen to you. What are you crying about?” Danjinos smiled with love.

“I . . . I just can’t help myself.” She sobbed and said that she was curious about his experience over the years after she had just escaped from the python’s belly just now.

Before she had finished her words, the scene before them began to change again.
