Bang!

Just as Mengmeng was desperate enough to accept her miserable fate, the iron door suddenly fell down. She lifted up her head to see what was happening with a bemused expression.

Long red hair appeared before her eyes.

She was so surprised that she immediately teared up. But a wall of flames separated them.

“Danjinos, go find someone to save me!” Lu Mengmeng shouted to him. But Danjinos rushed into the fire and pulled her close to take her out.

“Close your eyes, and don’t be scared,” he said. His words gave her a safe feeling.

Danjinos hurried them out through the fire. The flames kissed his body, but he did not say anything until they were out.

“Open your eyes.”

The girl had followed him through the flames, which were now about ten meters behind them. Danjinos was still holding her tightly in his strong arms. His face relaxed now.

“You are fine. What good luck!” Danjinos sighed, his voice a little tired.

“Thank you. Without you, I might have been dead.” Lu Mengmeng looked at him with grateful eyes.

“Call the two staffers. My body cannot sustain the human shape now.”

“They were running in this direction . . .” Lu Mengmeng became nervous when she saw several dense black shadows running toward them. “Let’s go to the hospital. I will block them.”

They staggered toward the hospital.

Just as they arrived and took a seat, several knocks sounded loudly.

“Danjinos, Lu Mengmeng, are you here?”

How awful they are so quick! Mengmeng thought. She drew a curtain down to cover Danjinos' body to hide him, and instructed, “Have a rest here. Don’t come out.”

Danjinos nodded weakly. Under the curtain, his red tail was appearing.

Lu Mengmeng opened the door just enough for her to slip out and then closed it immediately.

“We saw Dan went in this direction. Where is he? Why did he abandon the compet.i.tion?” It was Lin Ruize, who was worrying about Danjinos, caring nothing about his win.

“He . . . he . . .”Lu Mengmeng bit her lips, not knowing what to say.

“I saw the fire in the chemistry lab. Was he injured?”

“Yes . . .” Lu Mengmeng said, but soon felt odd about, and shook her head. “Eh . . . no, he was not injured. He just doesn’t feel well, and he needs a good rest.”

“Is his situation serious? Let me in. I want to take a look at him.” Lin Ruize became nervous when he heard Danjinos was ill.

Finally, she found a good excuse. “You can’t come in. He just lost the final round to you. If you come in right now, he will feel even worse.”

This one was effective, and Lin Ruize hesitated.

“I have called the emergency center. They will come here immediately. You’d better go back now.”

Though she had persuaded Lin Ruize, other fans would not accept this settlement.

“Danjinos is sick. We’ll take care of him. Why can't we take a look at him? Besides, the ambulance hasn’t come yet. Who knows if you are cheating us?”

The girl argued to visit. Lu Mengmeng realized she was the leader of the Fans League who had locked her in the lab. Her followers agreed with her and they came closer, pressing her. Lu Mengmeng did not like the situation.

What if they force their way in and see his real body? She was worried.
