25 25 It All Begins Now

Donis lapped up this information like a dog in the desert who'd just seen water for the first time in days. He used his newfound Intellect and [Truth Seeker] to power through every concept thrown at him. Much to Corvigs surprise, he was beyond anything he had ever seen.

In both Lorenzos and Corvigs eyes, Donis was beyond a genius. His learning capabilities, his maturity, his thought processes all dwarfed even the top most geniuses they had seen. They shuddered to think about what would have happened if Donis fell into the hands of the Castan Magisterium, or the many others that are after him now.

The two struggled to give him enough books to study, as he would power through them in a matter of hours and suddenly be able to use whatever basic magic construct they could throw at him. If he were to be of a higher Mana State, then maybe they'd be able to quench his thirst, but sadly for Donis, he was still at [Wisp].

This was something that couldn't be rushed. Lorenzo had sat Donis down one day after the latter had questioned him on how to reach the [Breath] Mana State.

"There are mainly three ways to achieve a higher Mana State," said Lorenzo.

"Firstly, every 15 levels, each human gets an award by the [System], it could be anything, from a stat gain to an incredibly rare increase of a higher Mana State. This is the easiest, as the [System] guides your body, mind, and will in the correct direction to a.s.similate with the higher intensity of mana absorption."

"Secondly, a combat jobs evolution, side-branch, and conception can give you a higher ManState. You gain the ability to attain a combat job at level 20. It is unknown the amount of combat jobs, or their evolutions, nor their side-branches that exist. This is because the [System] takes you as a whole and gives you a path to work with. Some speculate that even the non-combat jobs influence this, but nothing is certain, as the amount of human resources required to cast these experiments is tremendous for any sort of valuable data... sorry Donis, I didn't mean to ramble about these complex subjects."

"Third, and last, you can force your body to accept the higher Mana State using Alchemy. Alchemical reagents can temporarily stimulate your body into accepting a higher quant.i.ty of mana, but it does have a downside. Everyone who uses this way finds it harder to progress further after breaking through. We don't know if it's because the concoction recipe is incorrect, or if it's a limit set in by the [System] itself. With the stigma surrounding breaking through via Alchemy, we have no willing volunteers except those nearing the end of their lives, as it's the only way to extend what little they have left."

With this info Donis paid no heed to his current limitations. If he knew his system well, he knew that he wont be getting it for free any time soon, not unless it decides to upgrade itself for free.

Four years have pa.s.sed, and he has just reached 10 years old. This officially marked the end of his time under Corvig, and it began his journey into studying with students his own age. Kids who are either talented or wealthy enough to enter Vernaic Magisterium. Yet even if they were smart, or geniuses like him, they still had no way to catch up to Donis at this point.

To combat this, Lorenzo figured out a way how to keep Donis's thirst in check, and also have him enrol in the Academy to mingle with kids his age, to maybe promote some sort of friends.h.i.+ps. He knew the young lad would only spend his time studying if he could, but study only brought people so far. He would need real life experiences, and friends to carry him through.

So, Lorenzo concocted a supplementary cla.s.s for the genius of the geniuses in cla.s.s. There would be courses that aren't available to any other students until much further. He figured he could use this as a template to nurture future geniuses, and maybe create some incentive to work towards for the younger generations.

Donis had no real ideas of what to expect, he knew he was going to be ahead of everyone, and that he'll probably not be able to make friends. He has kept up his act of being a kid for so long, he's sick of it. He's been slowly letting his adult side slip when speaking to Corvig. Corvig treating him as an equal really helped pull the mental strain away from the constant acting.

He was both looking forward to the Academy, and also fearing the social interactions. It's not that he didn't want friends, it's just hard to make them when they're so many years below you mentally.

Donis was still laying in bed, even though the sun was going to rise soon. Today would be a new day like no other. It's his first day finally attending the Academy. In a few hours, he'd be at those gates entering the building to go to cla.s.s, and not Corvigs office. It'll be new, and weird, but exciting. His real adventure begins today, and so does the rest of his life.

Ever since Raul kidnapped him, Donis was a fervent study maniac. He had progressed by leaps and bounds, shattering any possible record anyone else could have had by his age. While still in bed, he reminisced about how he put in his all to learn everything. His blood, his sweat, his tears, his frustrations will all be worth it. The flame in his heart was ignited to truly become strong by the horrendous experience that Raul gave him.

He looked over his status with a hint of pride. He knew he came far, and he wasn't afraid to show it. His work is paying off and he knows it.
