Chapter 218: Carlos' Blessing

Without saying anything else, Carlos just opened his palm to his parents and with a smile on his face, a small red flame appeared in his hand, a small flame that gradually grew in size to the point that in a moment it was almost the size of Carlos' head.

Seeing that beautiful bright flame that had a high temperature in front of them, the couple looked with amazement and extremely happy expressions.

Seeing that his mother had started to cry, Carlos soon made the flame disappear and ran to give her a hug. Without missing the opportunity, Carlos' father also hugged them both, making a lovely family hug for a few minutes.

When Carlos saw that his mother had recovered, he released his embrace and looked at the two with an expectant expression.

And in order not to disappoint him, the two opened a pair of big smiles and shouted to the house employees to get a place in the best restaurant for today, regardless of the price they had to pay.

"Today is a special day for you my son, let's celebrate together! In the meantime, tell us more about your Blessing!" Carlos's father said excitedly. He also hadn't received a Blessing all his life, and he knew that in the state he was in, it was no use being Blessed anymore, since he wouldn't have much time to improve it, and couldn't risk himself in dangerous Fortresses. But this was not important for his son, as Carlos could still train a lot and be stronger because he was still young, which filled his father with pride, and he began to feel fulfilled by his son achieving something that he himself could not achieve during his lifetime.

Throughout the night they talked about Carlos' Blessing, about what he intended to do in the future and about what he could do to get even better.

Fortunately, Carlos had been trained from a young age in hand-to-hand combat and combat using firearms, that is, even if he entered a Fortress now, he would not be so unprotected, since he knew how to use a knife or sword to fight with to protect himself against monsters.

The next day he asked to do a Blessing assessment. Because of his age, the evaluators thought he was just a poor boy who did not accept that he had received no Blessing and wanted to try his luck to see if he had been Blessed.

But when the machine said that he did have a Blessing, the employees were confused and excited to be the ones who were attending the discovery of a belated Blessed, since the likelihood of another appearing in another place in the world would take several years once again.

Because of the attention he received, his assessment was much faster than it would normally have been.

As his Blessing was like Noah's, to the extent that almost no aura or radiation leaked, the Blessing was rated as Rank F, but as Carlos controlled the fire, the Blessing was marked as it was likely to evolve further, possibly up to Rank B they figured.

In a few days, not only was Carlos already registered on the GBC application, but he had also invaded his first Rank F Fortress.

Initially, he suffered the same things that Noah had suffered, being ridiculed by young people who thought they were gods for having Rank E or Rank D blessings, but in the end, many died because of their own arrogance.

For Carlos, who had never seen anyone die so soon, he had been a little shocked by what happened, but the more people died in the Fortresses, the more he got used to it, and the more he understood how cruel the life of a Blessed One was, even more a Blessed Rank F, which was the group that has the highest death rate in the world.

He was curious why anyone would continue to risk their lives repeatedly under such circumstances to the point of asking the motivations for doing this from an older Blessed man who was sympathetic to him, and the man replied that since he no longer had opportunities in life, he had no choice but to invade Fortresses.

As he was always careful, the man had managed to live for decades in Rank F, but he admitted that he saw more friends die than he really could keep count.

This made Carlos rethink some things, and something inside him changed. Before he had been finding it a lot of fun to have a Blessing like that, especially when he saw how videogame-based it was.

But now, after seeing how cold and cruel the world was, especially the world of the Blessed, Carlos decided that he would dedicate 110% to grow and become as powerful as Noah.

He knew that Noah was a steep challenge to reach, but he was determined to reach Noah, even though he had to break into Fortresses almost every day to get enough Exp to reach him.

And so the days went by: Carlos still took care of the imp rentals, acting as a representative that the great Blessed Rank C had hired, making the Blessed renters pay him to renew the uses of the imps.

Something that amused Carlos was seeing how dependent people were on those little monsters. Initially he was afraid it would be difficult to keep customers, but when people saw how much safer it was to invade a Fortress with those 'red goblins' and how less tiring it was, they increased the amount of Fortresses they invaded each week in order to be able to get the most out of those guys.

Whoever hired the imps became a loyal customer almost immediately, while anyone who saw those imps in the Fortresses soon wanted to become a customer as well as their friends.

But for that, Carlos had to come up with an excuse that the mighty Oni had traveled for business and could not serve those customers.

Weekly, the imps made them a profit between $40,000 - 50,000. Noah had forced Carlos to take at least 15% of the profits for himself to pay for the work he was doing, which Carlos was forced to accept.

And so, even in different cities, the two profited and earned Exp to level up without stopping.
