218 Happy Birthday!

'Revenge? To whom? Has this woman gone mad?' Lance shakes his head and ignored Vanessa.

Lance didn't bother to think about her since he has so many things in mind. He looked for Ingrid to check if she's okay and he spotted her easily. But he could not go near her since she's been held tightly by her husband. He could only let out a heavy sigh and went his way.

'Lance! Focus! Just look at her like your little sister, okay?' he scolded himself.

Meanwhile, Clark roams around to look for the little girl. He already brought with him the cake that he promised to give her. His countenance started to get upset because he could not see her among the crowd.

His legs started to get hurt and when he saw a bench near the bushes, he sat on it and placed the cake beside him.

Without Clark's knowledge, the little girl was just near him and has been struggling not to doze off. Her hunger made her weak and sleepy, but her determination to find the little boy is much stronger and kept fighting her sleepiness.

Clark suddenly heard the sneeze near him, "Achhoooo!" but he couldn't find anyone near. It sneezed three times which makes him to call out.

"Who's there?" Clark called and walked around to search who sneezed.

The little girl gasped, but when she saw the little boy not far from where she hides, she immediately went out to meet him.

"It's you!" Clark exclaimed. He looked at the little girl and was confused why she's hiding.

"I've been looking for you, but why are you hiding there?" the little girl looked down, since she could not tell him that she's not one of the guests.

Clark did not bother to get her answer when he heard a growling stomach. "Come on! I've brought something for you."

The little girl's eyes lit up and followed Clark.

"Wow!?" the little girl innocently cry out. "…the cake is so beautiful…"

"My mom especially made it." Clark proudly announced, but the little girl becomes sad.

"Oh! Lucky you still have a mom, mine's gone. She went up to heaven when I was little…"

"Oh, I'm sorry…"

"Don't be… I still have my dad," she smiled.

"That's nice to hear…"

The little girl continued to talk, "He's working here and he said that the owner of this resort is so rich and that he gave this to his grandson, do you know them?"

Clark almost choked and wanted to divert the little girl's attention so he thought for some of which he remembered the cake.

He then took the cake offered it to the girl.

"Here, eat this…" the girl hesitated to accept it while Clark took a candle and lit it. The little girl blushed in excitement.

"Happy birthday to you!" he greeted her enthusiastically.

She's been wis.h.i.+ng all her life that she could blow a candle and if that happens, will be the happiest moment of her life. The little girl looked at the child in front of her with much curiosity and they sang a birthday song.

"Happy birthday…" her voice almost becomes a whisper.

"Let's make a wish together, alright?" she nodded instantly.

The little girl suddenly exclaimed, "This is the happiest moment of my life. Thank you!"

"You're welcome."

"Once you're done eating, come with me and let's go swimming," Clark invited her since his grandfather told him that he can invite anyone he likes.

"Oh no, no, no. My father will be angry if he sees me here." Karyle looked down, gripping tightly to her s.h.i.+rt, "…sorry, but I-my father didn't know I'm here, I just really want to taste the cake you promise and–"

"Don't worry, I'll tell my grand-I mean the owner to explain it to your father, I think he'll understand."

"Really? But I don't have any swimwear…" she looked at her clothes and her shoes which showed some of her toes.

"That won't be a problem!"

Almost nine o'clock in the evening…

All the guests never get tired of socializing. The place is still so lively and everyone's still having time and the food flooded. The Briggs, the Howards and Lance are seen to entertain the guests.

Clark's still enjoying playing with his new friend. Earlier, he even introduced one of them and told his mother that they have the same birthday and that he's given her a portion of his cake which made Ingrid happy and greeted the little girl as well and then let them continue to have fun.

Ingrid no longer wore her bikini because her husband brought her back to their room to put over a spaghetti strapped maxi boho dress. Instead of being irritated, she's amused of her husband's reaction.

She ordered to one of the waiter for some tea which he immediately brought to her. After she drank it, she suddenly becomes sleepy which Clifford instantly noticed.

"Hey, honey, are you alright?" she nodded.

"Yeah, I'm just a little bit sleepy, can I go back and rest first?"

"I'll accompany you," she placed her left hand on his right thigh.

"Just stay here and get acquainted with them." she stopped him, but…

"Nope, I insist, I'll just come back here after I made sure that you're safe in the room."
