216 I Won't Hesitate

Standing in the midst of them is Clifford with a darkening expression written all over his face.

"I said, stop right there!" he said it again, this time he's walking to where they stood, his gait is like a predator ready to pounce its prey.

Clifford stood between Paul and Ingrid, meeting the man face to face, his eyes are ablaze.

"Okay, okay," Paul raises his hands as an act of surrender. "…I'm just greeting Ingrid here. I didn't do any harm to your precious wife. Relax, man! Can't you see, the guests are shock of your behavior."

Paul motioned his head to the onlookers. However, Clifford doesn't care.

"I don't give a d.a.m.n! All I want now is to throw you out this very instant!" Clifford slid his hand in his pocket taking out his phone, "Security! I want you to throw some garbage out from the resort right now!"

"Woah! Woah! Woah! What the heck are you doing, Briggs!" Paul started to get mad at the man in front of him. He felt indignant.

"I don't like to repeat myself, Keller. You heard me right and clear. I want you out from this place." Clifford did not move an inch. "You are not welcome, nor invited here."

The memory of Ingrid crying in front of him just because of this piece of a sc.u.m appalled him. Just the thought of it p.i.s.ses him off.

"I already warned you before, never go near my wife." His voice is low but with much authority given to every word he uttered.

Ingrid froze at how fierce her husband showed. She could feel the predatory presence emitting from him as he s.h.i.+elds her from Paul. She did not even notice that Clark slip past her hold and look for his playmates.

Griffith's men then came to the scene. "Sir, where's the garbage?"

"Wait, Cliff," Vanessa suddenly interrupted. "Could we talk it over somewhere, quiet? This is so embarra.s.sing," Vanessa pleaded s.h.i.+fting her attention to the woman behind Clifford.

"Ingrid, won't you do something?" her tone demands, still it's Clifford who answered her.

"If you want to come with this sc.u.m, you're free to go." Clifford did not even glance at Vanessa as he spoke.

Instantly, Cliffoed pulled Ingrid closer to him, showing those around whose husband is he?

Ingrid whispered, "Isn't this exaggerated, love?" Ingrid feared that the guests would judge them as a sn.o.b or domineering. Clifford only smirked in response.

Vanessa becomes more displeased at the display of affection the couple is showing that she could no longer contain her emotion.

"It's your fault, Ingrid! You're creating a scene, grabbing everyone's attention! You're not even worth to look at."

Vanessa hissed and measured Ingrid from head to toe. Her envy had eaten her that she forgot that Clifford is around and many people sees her disgrace.

The people who witnessed the scene held their breaths and a quiet buzz could be heard from them. When Vanessa came to her senses, she covered her mouth, her eyes widen.

"Cliff… it's not what I mean–" Vanessa felt horrible mainly that the onlookers looked down at her.

"Mind your words, Reiley, you're talking to my wife. When my family gets back to Diamond country, I think we needed to re-evaluate our business contract. Our business partners.h.i.+p seems ineffective and I no longer have plans to continue it." The coldness of Clifford's gaze almost froze Vanessa.

Paul gritted his teeth, trying desperately to calm his rage. He doesn't want to be humiliated. He needed to show humility so that he won't be tossed outside the resort. He wanted to be acquainted with more businessmen here as prospects investors for his business.

'This wench ruined everything!'

"Mr. Briggs, I-I am deeply, sorry for what I did. Please, I'm begging you. I'm just here to enjoy and unwind, nothing more. I originally did not plan to take Vanessa with me but she's insistent and I just want to–"

"Enough!" Clifford cut short Paul's excuse.

"Love…" Ingrid chose to be calm and touches her husband's arms. Clifford immediately ruled over his emotion and his head moved to his wife and met her persuasive gaze.

"Let's just deal with it, later. I believe this Mr. Keller here meant no harm. No need to be bothered with their insignificant presence. Let's not ruin Clark's celebration, shall we?"

Clifford contemplated and when Ingrid saw no objection from her husband, she waved her hand to dismiss the security.

Ingrid then faced Vanessa.

"As for you, Miss Reiley, I also have a word of warning for you. If you're here to ruin my son's celebration and my family, and if you happened to approach my husband again, think a million times because I promise you this..," Ingrid walked to Vanessa and whispered to her ears, "…I won't hesitate to personally drag you and throw you out from this place." Ingrid then pulled away from the woman with a triumphant smile plastered on her lips.
