198 You're Mistaken

"Hi, Ingrid or should I say, young madam?" his voice sounded playful just like they were in college. To Ingrid, Sheldon still displayed the same shrewdness he had before.

All of the staff glanced at her instantaneously and murmurings could be heard in the midst of them.

"I'm sorry but I was dumbstruck just by looking at you, Ingrid. You've changed… a lot… since the last time I saw you…"

Ingrid is well aware what this man is intending to do. He's creating a ruckus between them so that his name attached to hers so that he will be more recognized in the industry since the staffs now have the idea that they are acquainted and have heard how informally he's calling her. Who wouldn't want to be a.s.sociated with the wife of the CEO?

"While you never change, you still act immature and look the same…" she said sarcastically matched with a mocking judgment and scrutinizing him from head to toe.

But Sheldon displayed a cool impression and playfully pretended that he's hurt by Ingrid's words by holding tightly to his chest.

"Ouch! It hurts… come on! You acted as if we don't have past memories together." His tone colored something in the words he uttered. "Oooopppsss… my bad!"

The people in the room gasps in the revelation and made them more eager to know more. Their attention solely focused on the interaction between the two to get some juicier rumor.

Ingrid is sickened with what Sheldon had said.

'Thick faced, brute! Is he insane? He still had the audacity to mention the past as though he's not at fault? What a sc.u.mbag!'

Ingrid felt trapped in a tough situation whether she would give in to the lure of anger and berate him of what he did or should she compose herself and never be overcome by annoyance? But she chose the latter.

"What kind of past are you talking about, Mr. Measley?" she boldly asks.

The man chuckled.

"Don't make a fool out of you, Ingrid you know fully well what I'm talking about. Anyways, it's all in the past, we already moved on and as far as I know you married the most intangible bachelor in the country. Congrats! I'm so happy for you… can we be friends instead?"

"I am sorry but I think you're mistaken. There was no such past that is worth remembering of at all. In fact, all I can remember was that you were my school mate in college, right? Besides, what rubbish it is to talk about past when there's none. And oh…! Before I forget, you cannot randomly pick an EVP as your friend, Mr. Measley... and a wife of the CEO at that."

Sheldon's face reddened and he felt flabbergasted at what Ingrid just said and just gnashed his jaw as he stared at her.

"Director, please excuse me… I have another appointment to attend to. I want the final output of this photo shoot a week after."

Ingrid stood up from her seat and walked out elegantly and those who are blocking her way immediately cleared the path for her. Daisy immediately walked behind her boss and she too feels confident walking behind Ingrid.

When it was lunch time, Clifford is about to fetch Ingrid to eat their lunch but an idea came up to Clifford's mind. He called Griffith to bring Clark in his office. Within thirty minutes, Clark arrived at the company accompanied by Griffith and two body guards. He seemed like a celebrity when every person they meet would stop to take a closer look at him. But the bodyguards never allowed the onlookers to get near the little master.

The child seemed not to care of the attention the people are giving him because he's filled with the thought of spending time with his parents. All he wanted was to go inside his daddy's other office aside from the Veanco Square and he would like to take a look at all of his father's offices, to roam around and look for something which captivates his interest.

"Daddy!" Clark went to his father running and he was carried in Clifford's arms. The child greeted his father with a kiss on his cheeks.

Clark's eyes fell at his father's black executive desk and sat there.

The office's chairs are all leather upholstered, has light brown wood wall cladding, golden accents and a crystal chandelier centering the meeting table which complement the design and creating a luxurious and warm CEO office.

"Daddy, do you have a bedroom here, where I could sleep?"

"Yes, I do have… are you sleepy?" Clark shakes his head.

"I just want to know, in case that whe I'll go here the next time and fell asleep I know where to sleep so that I won't disturb you while you're working." Clifford ruffled Clark's hair.

"Hah! You really want to plan ahead, don't you? Come! Let's go to your mom's office while the food is being prepared…" he called Freya through an intercom and instructed her to inform the chef to prepare their food.

After they fetch Ingrid, they at once go back to Cliff's office to have a sumptuous lunch together. They had a hearty lunch together, full of laughter and amus.e.m.e.nt. At the same time the employees were served with the best lunch from a distinguished restaurant.

Once Briggs ate their fill, and Ingrid finished drinking her medicines, she feels so sleepy.

"Love, where's your room, I wanna take a nap. Maybe I was exhausted with a lot of work earlier…" her eyes are starting to droop but before she could fully close her eyes, both of them suddenly heard someone snoring.
