They have been on standby for several hours and could not even get any snippets of information from the family and they took turns to rest as they wait for some announcement or arrival from some famous people who will visit the couple but no one came yet because of the doctors' advice and only the family members are allowed to visit them.

They also antic.i.p.ated that their son will come along.

"Mr. Briggs! Mr. Howard! Please just give us some unofficial announcement regarding the couple's situation. We've been waiting here for several hours, please sirs." One of the eager reporters pleaded.

Both Clint and John are moved with the man's pleading so they stopped in their tracks and face them. The bodyguards were on alert.

"Please no pus.h.i.+ng!" Griffith sternly warns the reporters which the reporters obeyed without second thoughts as they come across with such a tall and burly man.

"Thank you for your persistence but all we can tell you for now is that they are both out of danger however they needed close monitoring. Up until this moment, we haven't received the official police report of the incident so we have to wait before we'll have our final statement regarding this."

After that they went inside the hospital but they're still followed by the reporters. Again, they're stopped at the entrance of the hospital.

The patients are confined in the renowned hospital and were placed at the luxurious presidential suite and no one can come in that unless they are expected visitors or part of the immediate family.

As the door opens, they are welcomed with luxury as if they are in a presidential suite of a hotel. There's an expensive convertible sofa bed, a kitchen, 32 inch flat screen TV and there are four nurses attending the patients.

They saw that Clifford is already on Ingrid's side and gently caresses her head. His mouth is moving as though he's telling her something and he did not notice their arrival because his sole focus is on his wife alone. The nurses left and excuse themselves and informed that they'll be back later. The Howards and Briggs gaze are fixed on the two.

But to their shock, Clifford's body shakes as he weeps. They immediately run to his side to a.s.sist him fearing that he might lose his balance. Clifford continued weeping even if he noticed that there are eyes watching him.

"Son…" Helen slowly walks to his son's side to comfort him.

"Mom, why did it happen to Ingrid? Can we trade places now? I can't bear to watch her in that state. Why is she not awake yet?"

"The doctor said that she's out of danger, son, we'll just have to wait for her to wake up. Your in-laws are here," She gently said.

Clifford looked at the Howards who are walking to their side, while their eyes are fixed on their daughter that has lots of wires attached to her body.

"Ingrid… my precious daughter…" Rose choked in her tears as John's eyes redden and about to cry when he saw that his daughter's hands moved.

"Ingrid's hand moved…" John bursts out.

All of them catch their breath when Ingrid once again moved her hands.

Following it, her eyelids had some shaking movements, as though struggling to open. They all froze and excited at the same time.

After much struggling, her brows knitted as she slowly she opened it adjusting to the bright lights in her surroundings. When she finally wakes up, her eyes slowly moves to her sides and then down. She saw eager looks from the people around her and her eyes moved to the man beside her.

"Where am I?" her voice was weak and soft. They all felt relieved when they heard Ingrid speaks.

They immediately attended to her needs asks her what she needed but she just shakes her head. Clifford stared at her as he holds her hands.

"I'm so glad you're awake, my love." Clifford smiled while he shed some tears.

Despite her difficulty to speak, she still tried. "Don't cry now, I'm already well. See? I'm a fighter?" she bitterly smiled.

Clifford softly chuckled and then winced in pain on his side before he speaks. "What did I do to deserve a wife like you?"

Their parents advice Clifford to take a rest so that he'll have more energy to say his cheesy lines to his wife which he obediently do. They also decided to informed the police to reschedule their meeting with them for a few of days, until Ingrid is somehow which the police understand.

A day later Lance arrived at Diamond country and instantly went to the hospital. He was such in a hurry that he unexpectedly b.u.mped into a sophisticated woman in the elevator before it closes. Lance was about to apologize but the woman acted arrogantly as she glared at him from head to toe.

"Are you an idiot?" Lance is stunned.

"I'm sorry but I didn't mean it, I was just in a hurry." The woman hiss and did not hide her irritation. Lance just ignore her and felt like that the elevator isn't moving. He wanted to escape from her annoying presence.

Again, they both came out from the elevator. Lance let the woman walk ahead of him while he walks just a meter away from her.

To his surprise, she suddenly came to a halt.

"Are you stalking me?" She arrogantly asks.
