111 Someone Stole The Letter

Helen and Rose played with Clark in the garden, while Lance was at the corner, in still motion.

"What's happening inside, I wonder." Rose voice is somewhat unstable. But Helen's gaze showed a.s.surance.

"I know it will go well. Let's just hope that whatever they will discuss upon will be for the best for them. How I wish we could be a family soon." Rose head turned to Helen.

"You mean by marriage?" she asked surprisingly.

"Yes, of course. Don't you approve of it?" Helen's eyes flickered.

"I have no reason to go against it, but it should be both of our children's ecision." Helen thought about what Rose said for a moment.

"I guess, you are right. Do I sound so eager?" Helen laughed softly.

"Oh no... I think most mothers would want to see their child get married but I feared that Ingrid's choice will be much of a problem than of Clifford's." Rose laughed, too.

"Believe me, we have the same problem. My son has no time for love, his only focus was to expand the business. But you know what? He kinda changed a bit lately, since he met his father and since he worked closely with Ingrid."

....

Clint pressed some b.u.t.ton and a man in black suit entered together with other two men in suit who seems to be guarding something important.

"This is Mr. Vladimir, my private investigator. He will tell us everything he discovered." Clint introduced the man and motioned to seat with them. "Come and sit with us." while the two men remained standing behind Mr. Vladimir.

"Wait, Mr. Briggs, why is a there private investigator involved?" Ingrid sensed something.

"I apologize if I did this, but I hired private investigators to know about the truth regarding Clark's father. And it's just happened that this issue surfaces it gives me more reasons to continue the investigation. And they are here to report."

"With my consent, of course." It was John Howard who spoke. Ingrid froze. She is not yet ready for this. She knew that her life will be changed forever.

"You both investigated it?" she is bewildered.

"Yes, I apologized for my intrusion to your privacy, but I could no longer hold back when I suspected that Clark is related to us." Clint's words are sure and secure.

Clifford's phone then buzzed.

He furrowed his brows.

'What Letter does he mean?'

"Excuse me for a moment. I need to check something important. Dad, I need your laptop now."

Clifford checked his e-mail and saw then a picture of a worn out letter addressed to him from the fertility clinic. He called Gary immediately.

"Did you found the culprit?"

"Sir, I am so sorry but we haven't." Clifford was appalled, and then he looked at his father, being suspicious of him. 'Could it be that his father took it?' he tightened his grip on the phone, his jaw tightened.

"How did it happen?"

"As you have instructed, I searched for the letter in your old house and fortunately it was still there hidden, but almost worn out because it was not kept properly. The day before your arrival, I already put that letter on your desk so that you will see it first thing when you come back to work. Unfortunately, on the day of your arrival, the issue broke and I have forgotten about the letter. When I found out that it was stolen, i checked the CCTV, it showed that someone sneak in your office in the disguise of a cleaner. The incident happened after your father arrived in your office just this Monday. The person's face or gender could not be identified because the person wore a cap and a mask and a loose uniform."

His suspicion grew more. 'Hope I am all wrong!' after their talk, he calmed himself while he took his seat back.

Clifford discreetly observed his father, but to his dismay there is no hint of any misbehaviour that could be seen.

"By the way, why do I feel that the reports should be well guarded? Is there something in it that is crucial to this confrontation? Is it worth stealing?" his words were sharp and mean something.
