"You have to be careful of your actions, Xenjin. We can't afford to lose more projects since that brat Li Yun decided not to accept any project with you." Hui Ruo reminded Qi Xenjin after she saw her throwing things on the floor.

Qi Xenjin started doing that ever since they arrived. She really didn't understand the need to throw expensive things just to release anger. She looked at Qi Xenjin with disdain as she tried to console her,

"Just focus on the shoot of Sweet Memories. You have to maintain a low profile from now on. When the shooting began, we will try to divert the people's attention away from the scandal. You have to be patient or we will lose it all."

Earlier that morning, the two of them were summoned to the company after the scandals circulating on the social media platforms escalated. Lots of fans were calling Qi Xenjin to quit the entertainment industry.

She was really p.i.s.sed on how Qi Xenjin handled the situation during the audition. How could she be beaten by Xu Jia Li even without the latter lifting a finger? She really knew that Qi Xenjin's bad att.i.tude would be her down fall.

When they arrived inside the conference room, there were already people inside. Qi Xenjin was still wearing her fake good girl façade. She smiled sweetly as she bowed her head.

It was Marketing Director Jiang Hoating who spoke first, "I will go direct to the point. This scandal will affect both of our artists if we won't do anything about it. What Qi Xenjin did was very irresponsible."

"I agree, Director Jiang. This problem has escalated faster than we expected. We all know that Xu Jia Li has never been involved in any scandal or rumor before. I'm just wondering why all of a sudden, since she came back from her Asian tour, gossips revolved around her like flies." PR Department Head Quan Yaozu stated.

Upon hearing what the two directors said, Qi Xenjin's face turned sour. She was about to speak when Hui Ruo stopped her.

"I think we should just let this slide for now since we can't do anything about it." Chief Manager Yi Shan gazed at Qi Xenjin before he continued, "Don't do anything that will further worsen the situation, understood?"

"B-but Chief Yi, Director Jiang, Head Quan, someone deliberately schemed against me. I was never involved in any scandal before." Qi Xenjin cried pitifully as she continued,

"Someone is clearly trying to frame me up so I could take the blame. H-how could I do that and smear the name I worked so hard to establish?"

What Qi Xenjin said clearly point out that Xu Jia Li schemed against her. It might not be directly said but it was obvious what she was trying to express.

"Moreover, I will never do such things. I-I always try t-to befriend, Senior Xu and I think highly of her. I-I can't do that to her. Please, believe me."

"Xenjin is right. She's been a good girl since she debuted and this is the first time that she's involved in this unfortunate situation. How can we blame her? Oh, my heart aches for this poor girl. She is always so pure and innocent that people always take advantage of her."

Hui Ruo put on her acting skill as she agreed to what Qi Xenjin said. She also had tears on her eyes as she looked at the people around her.

Moved by what he saw, Director Jiang sighed, "I know. I know. Since you pa.s.sed the initial selection for Si Cosmetics, you have to do your best and take this opportunity to get on the good side of your fans."

"Thank you, Director Jiang. I will do my best. I'm really sorry that Senior Xu didn't make it to the initial selection. I felt really bad. It should be her instead and not me."

"Don't say that. Since it's already the case. Just do everything in your power to get that contract."

"Thank you Director Jiang!"

"Okay. Okay. We will try our best to clear your name. Head Quan, I'll leave it up to you on how to handle this situation."

The meeting ended and both Hui Ruo and Qi Xenjin were in a good mood. Before they left the conference room, the PR department did their best to release a statement.

The PR team was trying its best to salvage the situation since Xu Jia Li was also a leading star under Sun and Star.

They released an official statement saying that Qi Xenjin and Xu Jia Li were in good terms as both were artists under the same company and they needed their fans to get along well and not cause trouble for their beloved artists. They also discredited the legitimacy of the uploaded video and that further defamation of their artists would result to a lawsuit.

Even though Qi Xenjin was not totally satisfied with the statement, she was still in celebratory mood since Director Jiang bought her words. She turned her head and glanced at Hui Ruo before she smiled wickedly,

"You need to do something for me. Release another statement. Make sure that it won't be traced back to us. Make yourself useful."

"B-but Xenjin, you heard what they said. You shouldn't do anything since everything isn't settled yet."

"Stop being a worrywart. Just do as I say."

Hui Ruo shook her head in disbelief. She really couldn't fathom the stupidity of Qi Xenjin. She disregarded what she said as she walked faster, leaving her behind.

Qi Xenjin only scoffed as she looked at Hui Ruo's back. She took her phone and called someone, "Hey, I need you to do something for me."

"Shoot. What is it?"

"Release a statement clarifying that the video was only to defame me since I pa.s.sed the initial selection of the audition for Si Cosmetics. Make sure to emphasize that even Xu Jia Li failed to get on the second part of the audition."

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

Satisfied, Qi Xenjin walked towards her car where Hui Ruo was waiting. She noticed the frown on Hui Ruo's face the moment she settled in.

"What's wrong?"

"Manager Ho just called. He told me that Li Yun will reject any future project with you."

"What?!"

"You heard what I said. Li Yun will announce his true feelings for Xu Jia Li."

"Are you f.u.c.king kidding me, Hui Ruo?! Stop spouting nonsense! I don't want to listen to any of your words!"

"Xenjin, calm down."

"Calm down?! I'm about to lose him and you're telling me to come down?! Does the management know? What did Director Jiang say?! This can't be!" Qi Xenjin was hysterical.

"I think they know by now," Hui Ruo said as she looked at Qi Xenjin, "It's not so bad after all. After Sweet Memories, you can take new projects with other leading actors in the company. We could also sign a contract at Leading Light Studio. They've been trying to poach you for a while now. Maybe, it's the right time to do that now."

The look on Qi Xenjin's face was enough for Hui Ruo to shut her mouth. She focused her attention on driving and headed straight to Dongshan Villa where Qi Xenjin lived.

"Xenjin! You still have to go to the second part of the audition for Si Cosmetics!" Hui Ruo exclaimed. She was losing her patience as she stared impatiently at Qi Xenjin.

"What's the point? Everything is nothing if I couldn't get Li Yun!"
