"Aiyoo, have you heard the news?"

"Yeah, it's all over the internet. That Qi Xenjin is really mean. Look what she did to Xu Jia Li. I never really like her at all."

"I don't even know why Li Yun could take being with her."

"Hey, be quiet! Li Yun might hear us."

Li Yun just walked away, his heart beating fast. He was so furious that he clenched his fists into a ball. Upon hearing Xu Jia Li's name, he knew that Qi Xenjin did something bad. He immediately took his phone and searched in the internet. He cursed under his breath as he read the news.

He didn't even hear when all the staffs congratulated him as he walked pa.s.s them. It was only Manager Ho who responded to them before he followed Li Yun out.

"Li Yun, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong? You're asking me what's wrong? All these bulls.h.i.+ts are wrong! You putting me in this situation with Xenjin is wrong!"

"B-but tell me what made you that mad?" Manager Ho asked, he was clueless as to why Li Yun was acting strange.

"Manager Ho, you know I love Xu Jia Li more than anything else." Li Yun's voice broke as he gritted his teeth.

"I-I k-know, Li Yun but – "

"f.u.c.k, Manager Ho! f.u.c.k this all!"

Without waiting for Manager Ho to speak, Li Yun strode away, leaving the stunned manager behind.

Manager Ho could only shake his head as he looked at Li Yun's retreating form. He knew somehow that Li Yun was having the hard time putting it with Qi Xenjin. It had been a long time that Li Yun kept saying that he wanted to be Xu Jia Li's male lead.

It was his dream yet he couldn't give it to him. The company kept pairing him up with Qi Xenjin.

Suddenly his phone rang, he picked it up. He saw the name of the director of Sun and Star. He answered it immediately, "Yes, Director Yue Lao."

"Look at the news. Tell Li Yun to report tomorrow."

"Yes, Director Yue."

When Manager Ho read the news, he finally understood why Li Yun was furious. Xu Jia Li was hurt and it was because of Qi Xenjin.

Xu Jia Li buried her face on her pillow, the tears on her eyes just kept on falling. She missed Si Weimin but she restrained herself. The feelings she had for him weighed her down.

She ended the call when she heard Si Weimin's worried voice. She knew that she couldn't hide her feelings any further.

The knocks on her bedroom door startled her, she wiped her tears at once, not wanting Shen Linqin to worry about her.

"Li-jie, I prepare soup for you."

"Alright, Linqin. I'll be there in a second."

Xu Jia Li got up and fixed herself before she went out of her room. Before she reached the kitchen, she heard the doorbell chimed.

'Who could it be?' She asked herself as she strode towards the door. She looked at the doorcam, she was surprised to see Li Yun standing outside. She opened the door and asked,

"Yun-ge, why are you he– "

Even before Xu Jia Li could finish her question, Li Yun hugged her tight.

"Xiao Li, I was so worried about you." He let go and caressed Xu Jia Li's hand. He frowned when he saw the bruises on her wrist, the anger in his tone was evident, "I will never forgive Xenjin for doing that to you."

He hugged Xu Jia Li again, even tighter.

"I'm okay, Yun-ge. Don't worry about me."

"No, it's not. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you."

"Yun-ge – " Xu Jia Li tried to free herself from Li Yun's hug. It made her uncomfortable. But instead of letting her go, Li Yun hugged her even tighter.

"Just let me hug you for a little while, Xiao Li."

Without anyone noticing, a pair of piercing black eyes gazed at the two forms locked in an embrace, hands fisted on either side, lips tight, jaw clenched.

"I think you're holding the wrong girl, Mr. Yun."
