197 Let's Suffer Together

Donovan, aka Dove, edited his essay in front of his computer. He posted his self-written articles with a picture alb.u.m, a collection of VIP items in the shop, their prices, VIP perks, and the possibility to trade diamonds into dust in-game.

The article was about his close-beta experience in detail, including the usage of diamonds and the importance of VIP items.

He did not hide anything. He disclosed the life-and-death situation during the beta period, which came with the high rewards, the diamond farming, in-game items to reality, and resources from the other worlds.

Dove revealed his bank balance, which was once less than 40,000 MWD, but it turned into 10 digits number. The short clip during the transaction with the government agents was also there to prove his action.

He commented that he planned to rejoin the hardcore server after his current character in the casual server got stronger. Dove told them that he would establish an alternate dimension mining company to acquire resources from the hardcore server to their real-life dimension.

However, he did not reveal a secret that few people knew.

Dove smirked, "No one can escape from that hardcore server. It's a death trap."

He did not publish what he spoke. After all, he wanted the diamond price to inflate.

.

As Dove was one of the top rankers, he had many followers in his social network, even though he did not know any single of them in real life. After he had posted everything, likes and comments flooded his news feed.

"That explains a lot! I was wondering why those rich players invested so much into the game. Is this the reason?"

"I heard several mining companies joined the hardcore server right away, but we heard nothing from them. What happened inside the hardcore server? Do you know anything, Dove?"

"I'm guessing that the MWG doesn't want the public to know. None of them says anything about this, but they keep selling their diamonds."

"Those guys are making money! They already have enough diamonds, so they are trying to increase its value!"

"Diamonds are useless in real-life. What's the point of investing in it aside from gaming?"

"^Idiot detected."

"^^Explains, Mr. Know-It-All."

"^^^Soul transfer, moron! Even if you don't plan to make money from the game, you can become a G.o.d in the other dimension by investing in your game character! Every geezer in my neighbors abandoned their fleshy body to become immortals in-game!"

"You can still farm diamonds in real-life, though. You get diamonds from dead bodies."

"^Are you telling us to murder somebody to get a f.u.c.king diamond!?"

"^^No, I'm telling you that you get diamonds from killing animals, too."

"^^^As a fisherman, I rarely get diamonds from fis.h.i.+ng. Only large fishes, such as dolphins, gave me diamonds."

"^^^My father works in a butcher factory. He said they usually got one diamond for each dead cow, but the government always collected all of them."

Flaming, speculation, guesses, and rumors went on. Several people got the urge of farming diamonds in real-life by killing large animals. Some even revealed interest in murdering real people for the diamonds.

Meanwhile, a few closed communities began strategizing their gameplay and their future in the casual servers.

Currently, the hottest topic of the game was the hidden potentials of various races.

The humans started as the weakest race among them all, but they could evolve into Hi-Humans, increasing its max level by another 100 and obtaining more perks.

Collin Piero, who was once known as DaVinci during the closed-beta, disclosed a new discovery of human evolution in the INWTRUE community.

"I have just completed a quest from a demi-hydra in the slum. I found out that mafia organizations exist here, and they have viruses that can evolve humans into mutants. It is also for sale."

Christopher Sunkens.h.i.+p, aka Pioneer King, also published his founding.

"Alien races are also accessible, but we have to get permission from the G.o.ds in their Parthenon first."

"^Where do you get that info?"

"^^A catgirl-lover from my cla.s.s. She went to the felionian's Parthenon to play with their G.o.d to the point that the felionian G.o.d gave her that info. She's working on getting to level 100 now to evolve into a catgirl."

As everyone exchanged information, Roman Ba.s.s shared a clip of Misha and Non, who were battling against a group of 2500-power bears, into their INWTRUE guild community.

"We should turn some of our DPS members into felionians or recruit those aliens into our clan. From what I have discovered, felionian's attacks can ignore defense and the monster's status buff."

"Let's get someone with mafia's connection to buy weapons and items from that black market, too."

"Don't forget about real estate and land. We need a base for our guild. Make sure we start with a 5-star guild, so everyone can get more perks from the guild bonuses."

"Let's pool our diamonds and exchange them to dust. We need funds for our future guild."

.

.

After the 50th bear went down, Non was exhausted. Yet, she was laughing.

The power-leveling brought her to level 120!

Meanwhile, Misha, who had VIP10, acquired more EXP from the grinding. She had reached level 157.

Misha's total strength rose to 1,442 while Non had already surpa.s.sed her with 1,599 points.

As for their ranking, Misha got back her first place again since Roman's level got stuck at 141.

"I'm hungry, Nya! I can't fight anymore," Non complained, though she was still laughing.

"Let's clean our loots and take a brief rest. I think we have been fighting for hours already."

"By the way, what time is it, Nya?"

"In the real world or in-game?"

"Real-world. We still have to go to school tomorrow, Nya."

Misha's face paled. She looked at the time in a panic.

Fortunately, it was still 1.50 AM in reality. They had five hours or five in-game days until they had to log out.

Both girls departed from the hunting field. As they were leaving, they could see several parties of felionians leveling together. Most of their strength had reached the 1,000 marks, which was catching up with the rankers.

This game seemed hard at first glance. But once they got used to the game system and the EXP calculation, their level progress would increase at a rapid speed.

At this stage, had Misha and Non been lazy, they could keep hunting mutated bears until level 200.

When they returned to the town, Non noticed a change above Misha's head.

This dragonewt had regained her t.i.tle as the first ranker.

"Mia, you got the first rank again."

"Eh, it's not like I care. If I get it, then it's just a silly t.i.tle. If I don't get it, those rankers are either using hack tools or investing too much into the game."

"… You do care, Nya."

After working with Non, Misha built her character as a magic tank, which could contribute damage to the fight while she kept her flame field barrier as her main tanking HP, aka meat s.h.i.+eld.

With level 25 Flame Field, level 7 Inferno Mastery, 300 INT, and 300 WIS, she could generate 6,606 s.h.i.+eld HP with all of her PF, which increased her survivability further.

Misha could withstand two or three direct hits by the mutate bears now, although she could easily dodge most of their attacks.

"I've stocked my food items. Let's go hunting again, Nya!"

Non finished resupplying her food items and recovered all her HP, ST, and filled her stomach. She was ready for more action.

"Sure. Mind if I train my fireball skill during the hunt? You're going to two-shot every monster anyway."

"Go ahead, Nya."

The two left the town and headed toward their previous hunting ground.

Upon arrival, they found out that hundreds of felionian and leporian players already occupied their hunting spot and other places nearby.

Similar to the way Misha and Non hunted the mutated bears, leporians used their natural agility to keep the bears at bay while felionians dealt damages to the monsters.

Bears became extinct as players had to wait for the monsters to resp.a.w.n. All of them killed the bears too fast.

"Nya … our hunting ground," Non sulked.

"Let's find another location. I know another place with stronger monsters."

"Really? Let's go then!"

"Okay. But first, let me see if Moo is still busy."

"Let's not bring that pervert along. His level is lower than us …"

Non paused as she looked at Moo's level in the ranking list.

It had been a half a day in-game since they last checked Moo's status. However, his level surpa.s.sed Non.

Moo's level was now 135!

"HOW THE DOG DID THAT HENTAI LEVEL SO FAST, NYA!? DID HE BUY VIP!?"

"He said he was in the middle of a chain quest. Let me ask him again."

Misha sent a message to Moo, asking him to join their party again.

"Moo, are you free?"

[Too busy. I'm swimming.]

Misha widened her eyes in shock, "Catto can swim?"

[That's rude! This Magnificent Catto can do everything! Swimming is a cakewalk!]

"Okay … where are you going? I'm planning to visit an island near Newbie Island."

[I got an errand quest that I have to mine a couple of rare ores from this island.]

"What's the name of that island?"

[Eh, Roper Island.]

"…"

Misha did not like the name of that island. For some reason, it reminded her of a fetish from a p.o.r.n website.

Also, she had a sense of déjà vu.

Subconsciously, Misha took out her island deed, which she had bought from the real estate, to inspect its name once again.

Roper Island

Misha's face turned into a pokerface meme.

[Wanna come? I'm sure it'll be fun!]

"…"

Misha wanted to cry, but she had no tears. Yet, for the sake of her beautiful private island and her guild headquarter, Misha agreed.

"I'll be there shortly."

[… I was kidding. Are you serious?]

"I have a business there. Actually, I have bought that stupid island, and I have to clear the monsters there before I move in."

When Misha told Non that she knew a place to hunt, she meant this island. However, she did not pay attention to the island's name when she bought it.

Now, she had to bear for the consequence of her banananess.

"Non."

"Yes, Nya?"

"We're moving to our new hunting ground."

"Alright, Nya. Where to?"

"… The Roper Island."

"…"

"…"

"… Can I say Nyo?"

Misha revealed a bitter smile, "No."

Afterward, Misha spread her wings as she wrapped her arms around Non's slim waist, flying to the sky with the catgirl in tow.

"Let's suffer together …"

"NYOOOOOO!!"
