Chapter 151: Adult Hydra Emerged

Chapter 151 – Adult Hydra Emerged

At Shelter 88, Crystal, Sebastian, Thorn, and Shurka were in a panic after they had heard the announcement. They tried to communicate with Mia, using Shurka's friend list messenger. Crystal also attempted to call him via his smart.w.a.tch. However, Lilith disabled all communication devices with Mia.

Crystal and Shurka kept following the news about Mia's whereabouts from the sky. At first, they were so worried that they could not stay calm.

When the first update arrived, Crystal screamed in fright as Mia's location overlapped with the giant hydra's mark on her resource map.

After several hours, everyone stopped panicking but became astonished instead. Mia kept staying at the same location as the giant hydra, but n.o.body managed to kill or harm him. Lilith kept mocking the bounty hunters that they were inept and increased the bounty to 50,000 diamonds.

Now, even captains in the shelter were tempted to betray Mia and hunt for him. Fortunately, Sebastian forbade anyone to mobilize. Still, he sent Thorn and Tautog team to the location, hoping to rescue Mia from the predicament.

.

A couple of kilometers away from Chonburi Base, Dove wandered on gra.s.sland by himself. He, too, followed Mia's trace to this location with many bounty hunters from Mafdet City.

Dove gazed at his event quest with a frown. The bounty quest had increased its reward to 50,000 diamonds, which drove all greedy hunters crazy.

Many began killing their fellow hunters in secret to get rid of the compet.i.tion. Some took this chance to plunder or rob other's belonging.

Dove came here for the latter. He also wanted to steal all wealth from the greedy hunters while he protected his former cla.s.smate from harm. However, had he gotten an opportunity to capture Mia, he would also do it without hesitation.

After all, Dove played this game for wealth, money, and a pro-gaming career. Morality and friends.h.i.+p among men could change if they were influenced by greed.

One diamond equaled one million dollars. 50 billion dollars were something that he could never obtain as a professional gamer.

As for the statue in his mind room, he devoured all of it a long time ago. At the moment, he was confident that his cryokinesis, learned from Krastel, could dominate everyone here.

Dove gazed at the updated map in the sky once more.

Looking around, Dove's hands trembled in excitement and nervousness. Over a hundred hunter teams roamed around nearby, which forced everybody to restrain their desire. Had anyone acted out and killed anybody, they would have been killed instantly.

Several mutants from Chonburi Base mixed into the crowd, which ensued chaos. As demi-hydras from the base had a short fuse, they were p.r.o.ne to violence.

Gunfights and battles between human hunters from Mafdet and demi-hydras from Chonburi Base occasionally occurred in the distance. Several dare-devils even jumped into the fray to steal some diamonds.

As for the smart ones and the conservative people, they maintained their status quo, searching for Mia with the others.

However, their patience had reached the limit. It had been hours, but no one had found Mia.

"That's odd. He should be around here, but n.o.body has the sight of him."

"Has that girly-boy burrowed himself underground?"

"Make sense. Should we start digging?"

"Let's look for a cave or an underground entrance."

"I heard Chonburi Base has an underground pa.s.sage to other places. Is that wanted guy using this pa.s.sage to hide?"

Many speculations arose, which caught Dove's attention.

It did not take long before someone had found an underground entrance.

"THERE IS AN ENTRANCE CAVE OVER HERE!!"

Over a thousand bounty hunters from all races scrambled to the direction. Before them, a hole, surrounded by a giant mound of dirt, led to an underground cave. A fire ant nest entrance had been located.

Inside the cave, the hunters found several red gels on the ground and a murky trail of a snake.

"Look! Red gels! We're rich!"

Although humans could not eat red gels as they contained viruses, MWG offered the locals that they would buy many of these for diamonds or the local currency. Also, Chonburi Base had a high demand for these gels, which they could exchange the gels for pasteurized ration.

One kilogram of red gels equaled one ton of clean provision.

Because of the discovery, all hunters revealed their true color. All men and mutants began killing the others for the loots and diamonds.

Dove observed the situation from afar while he kept his guards up. At the same time, he began searching for prey. Then, he spotted one.

One of the demi-humans from Chonburi Base had killed a human hunter by using his partner's tentacle.

While the demi-human's eggcat was draining his victim's blood, an ice lance manifested behind him. The lance penetrated into the main body of the eggcat. Afterward, the temperature inside the mutant reduced to minus one fifty degrees Celsius in a second, turning his body into an ice statue from the inside.

Dove grinned when he saw the loots. Although the EXP he could get was minimal, these diamonds would come in handy.

'Everybody should be collecting diamonds with them. If I kill everyone here, I should make more than 50,000 diamonds.'

Dove took a deep breath and began killing everybody nearby.

.

One hour later, Lilith updated Mia's current location again. As usual, he did not move from his previous spot.

On the other hand, Dove had fun moving through the ant colony, ambus.h.i.+ng everybody he met in the dark tunnels. As the fire ant colony had intertwined pa.s.sages, it became a maze for the hunters. Dove picked a few locations as his hunting grounds and exploited them.

When he killed the 100th victim, he received a notification.

Dove grinned. This new combat cla.s.s came at the right timing. As he did not want to serve the army or join the overmind, Prayut, he wanted a combat cla.s.s that would not rely on the military resources.

'Perfect! Should I change my cla.s.s now, or should I optimize my level? Getting to 200 is quite a pain.'

Aside from hydras, all monsters and local humans gave him little EXP. Some even gave 1 EXP per kill as they were too weak.

So far, Dove had hunted many boss-level monsters to grind and farm for items. As for the mobs, they were just walking diamonds waiting for him to collect. Still, he was not satisfied with the EXP ratio.

'I need something big. Give me a boss-level monster! Give me a hydra to kill!'

'Then, I can be an immortal!'

'…'

'Why am I pursuing immortality again? I don't remember having this dream.'

Dove scratched his head in confusion.

.

*BOOM*

.

While Dove was absentminded, a tremor and an explosion alarmed all hunters within the ant nest. Dust and small rocks dropped from the cave ceiling. Several tunnels collapsed and buried a few unfortunate hunters alive.

Then, a dead throe of a man echoed throughout the nest.

Dove frowned. This situation was similar to a horror movie, a death flag to all hunters. His instinct cried that he had to leave this area ASAP, or something like an undefeatable monster might appear.

'Is it a boss-level monster? Is it a fire ant? Or even better, a hydra? Red gels are scattering around, so that's a hydra, right?'

Although Dove wanted to fight a hydra, he was not stupid enough to fight the monster in the enclosed s.p.a.ce like an underground hive.

He ran toward the exit and ignored all hunters.

When Dove reached the exit, he found a group of demi-hydras blocking the path. It was Papabear and his crews.

Papabear and all demi-hydras had already transformed into lizardmen with six arms. As they glared at the oncoming Dove, all crews pointed their guns at Dove.

"Halt! Strip and give us everything, and we'll let you live."

Dove stopped his feet.

Instead of getting panicked by the robbers, he revealed a bright smile. He raised both his hands to the air, gesturing that he gave up.

"Wait, don't shoot. I'll give you my loots."

All demi-human subordinates of Papabear smiled, believing that they had an easy prey. However, Papabear and other demi-hydras sniffed and frowned.

"You reek."

"That man smells like blood."

"He's a killer! Get rid of him!"

Dove clicked his tongue, 'These mutants are too sharp! Fine, a fight it is!'

As Dove and Papabear's crews began killing each other, an earthquake in the scale of Richter-6 made everyone lose their balance, stumbling and tumbling.

Dove snapped his fingers and summoned a cubic ice s.h.i.+eld to surround himself. On the other hand, all demi-hydras leaped away from their previous locations, leaving only their afterimages.

Soon, the ground erupted from the location that Dove was standing. A giant sandworm dug itself from underground and opened its mouth wide, swallowing Dove whole.

It did not stop with just swallowing Dove. After the worm closed its mouth, another monster emerged from the ground.

This time, a head with a face of a western dragon got out of the ground. Its long neck carried the dragonhead to the sky while its eyes darted around, observing the people on the ground.

*BOOM*

Another head emerged. Had Mia been here, he would have recognized this monster right away as it was the one-eye python that almost ate him and Tama.

*RUMBLE*

After the three heads emerged, its colossus body freed itself from the underground.

Despite the flowing dust and rain of dirt covered its body, the hydra's red glowing dragon scales reflected the sunlight. Two eyes from the dragon head, one eye from the python head, and one eye from the sandworm head glared at the crowd.

All humans and mutants felt like they were puny ants before the monster. The hydra's body alone was at least 30 meters tall, but all necks of this monster, each was at least 50 meters long. The size of each head was also large enough to swallow ten people at once.

This was an adult hydra, a descendant of the disastrous-level creatures that caused the apocalypse in the 21st-century!

For something at this scale, they required an army of at least a hundred robots and a thousand tanks to fight. Or even worse, they might even need a nuclear bomb.

Papabear's face paled as he ran back to Chonburi Base at full speed. This was not something that they could fight without a mech.

"Retreat! Tell everybody to retreat!"

.

.

Meanwhile, Tiny frowned as they gazed at the ceiling of their love nest.

"The annoying b.i.t.c.h is causing a scene again."

As Tiny was complaining while moving her hips, Mia was playing another game.

Before him, a series of pink and violet system messages appeared in a rhythm.

*Mew* (100 Combos, good job! Now, another 100!)

Unfortunately, Mia and Tiny stopped moving. She released a soft moan as her lower body shook. At the same time, Mia panted with his mouth open.

*Meh* (Whoops, you have to start over again.)

Before Mia could rest, Tiny released her blue pheromone. Seeing that she had not fallen yet, Mia's petapod used its harden skill.

It was super effective!

Tiny whispered to Mia before she kissed his lips, "More …"

Mia inserted his tongue into Tiny's mouth. Without a word, he answered her with his action.
