29 A Big Splash Pt. 2

"Wait, there mage just casted a spell, quick, cleric, cast a barrier!"

"Wait, he disappeared, was that an Illusion?

...

"Cleric?"

The cleric lay lifelessly on the floor before bursting into pixelated rainbow colored dust. Li Ming pulled his spear back out of the floor. He had underestimated his damage output, and had missed and ability.

Originally, he had planned to use shunpo to get behind his target and allowing the Fire Lances to land first in order to activate his On The Hunt ability, which would grant him stealth and kick start his High Tempo. He would then follow that up with a Ghost strike to reactivate his stealth and continue his High Tempo, and using that stealth, he would place a Gra.s.s Roots Trap behind the cleric before circling back in front of the cleric to reactivate his trinkets for another round of Fire Lances.

Up until this point, everything had gone to plan. However, as soon as the Fire Lance landed on the cleric, the cleric keeled over with the last of her HP being depleted. Turns out that Li Ming had gotten extremely proficient at targeting vitals for critical strike bonuses.

By striking places like the neck and the head multiple times, the cleric's hp bar fell faster than a teenager's motivation level when they are rejected by their crush.

Li Ming, who was mid swing with his spear, couldn't stop the spear from piercing the ground as the cleric's dead avatar was teleported out of the game.

"What the f*ck?" The mage exclaimed as she was. .h.i.t by the Wind Arrow Volleys that reactivated Li Ming's stealth. The enemy party still had not caught sight of Li Ming, as they had not even turned around to check on their cleric.

As Shunpo's cooldown period had been refreshed due to Li Ming scoring a kill on the cleric, Li Ming immediately used it to get behind the mage.

This time, he enchanted his spear with Enchant: Static. With all the added bonuses together, Li Ming executed the same combo. As Mages normally have higher resistance to magic, the Mage wasn't executed as fast as the Cleric, but she fell as soon as Li Ming drove the spear into her twice more.

With two of their members down in a blink of an eye, the enemy party was left with no Magic Support. They were left with their Ranger, a Paladin Spearman, and a Dark Knight.

"Well, I guess that's as much as I'm going to get to do for a h.e.l.lo," Li Ming sighed, "Try to keep up!"

In just another two seconds, the Ranger suffered the same fate as the Mage and the Cleric. By this point, the Dark Knight just managed to activate his taunt skill.

In Legend's Rise, when a player is taunted, it didn't mean that the player would mindlessly attack the caster of the taunt. Rather, the player could only target the caster. This didn't change much for Li Ming.

In the span of 5 seconds, Li Ming executed the martial arts technique he had learned from the old man, Dragon's Breath, and disarmed the Dark Knight by knocking his lance and s.h.i.+eld aside all the while stunning him with his spear that was enchanted with Enchant: Static.

With another rotation of Li Ming's abilities, the Dark Knight was flattened and also turned into another cloud of vibrant pixel dust.

"And then there was one..." Li Ming whispered as he appeared behind the Paladin Spearman.

"Wh-what the f*ck?" The Paladin Spearman was shaking in his boots, "Who the h.e.l.l are you?!?"

"Ah, my apologies, I forgot to introduce myself," Li Ming remembered as he stabbed his spear through the Paladin Spearman's neck, "You can call me 'The Dawn'! The Osaka Phoenix's newest member!"

After a short exchange lasting no longer than 5 seconds, Li Ming had skillfully dispatched the last member of the party that was hoping to flank them.

When he looked back up the side of the mountain, he could see that Ken's party was at the end of combat against the bandits. Li Ming jumped back up the ledge behind the bandits and ran straight to their back line and proceeded to ma.s.sacre the last of them.

"Hey, you guys, we only have 4 more minutes to get to the next gate you know?!" Li Ming reminded them, "Let's pick up the pace!"

But instead of hurrying to move, the party just stared at Li Ming like he was a ghost.

"How-"

"Wh"

"You-"

"But-"

All four of the party members stumbled their words as they stood with their mouths agape staring at Li Ming. Unbeknownst to Li Ming, they had used some high cool down powerful skills to whittle down the bandits while he ran towards the enemy party. They were able to push them back and hold an advantage during that time, but instead, they all watched Li Ming fight the enemy party.

"What was that?!?" Ken shouted as he was the first to recover from shock, "You just killed five of them on your own! "

"And at that speed too!" Kaori remarked.

"What was that stealth ability?" Hanzo stared incredulously, "Was it the Thief's Mist Sneak? Or the a.s.sa.s.sin's Stealth Blade?"

"How did you manage to disarm the Dark Knight after he taunted you?" Hatori followed up, "That definitely didn't look like a spearman's Meteor Skewer, but there was a flurry of attacks!"

"Haha..." Li Ming laughed dryly, "C'mon guys, let's get going, we're still quite far away from the gate. I'll explain on the way."

"Oh my G.o.d! A player just took out 5 players on his own, it seems!" A female Spearman exclaimed, "Is he hacking?"

"What?!? By himself?" asked her compatriot, who was testing out his swordmage build after seeing a video of The Dawn on Y*utube.

"Yeah, check the kill feed! It says Team 7 Player 5 has killed Team 2 Player 1, and on and on and on!" The she continued, "I'm so glad I'm streaming this game, maybe I'll get to catch a hacker! That ought to be exciting!"

"Wait you're right... there's no a.s.sist tag following the kill tags, he really did kill them all by himself!" The swordmage said in exasperation as he checked the kill feed, "And look at the kill times! The whole fight lasted at most 20 seconds... oh my G.o.d, what happened."

"Maybe that party ran into a rather tough Event before hand was already low before getting picked off by Team 7's Player 5?" Their mage came to what he believed to be a reasonable conclusion, "There's no way Leo Corporation would let a hack like through their hands. He would've been banned long before he got the first kill..."

"That's reasonable..." the the Swordmage concluded, "Wait, lets get going, Kikyo, stop looking at the kill feed."

"That's right," Their party captain, the cleric, agreed, "We need to get moving as soon as possible. I don't want to get flanked by players north of us. We should quickly head to the south gate."

"Alright, lets go then!" Kikyo agreed, "Hey Qio, lets get going!"

"Yes, Nee-sama!" a Berserker replied enthusiastically!
