"The seven deadly sins… The previous hosts of the death magic had only one sin, embedded in their soul but today, you have all seven… if one deadly sin could make the previous death mages very powerful and intimidating, imagine what will happen when you possess all seven" Demos laughed out loud like a mad man.

He knew the true power that comes along with the seven deadly sins and each sin reacts to the feelings of the user, granting them strange yet powerful abilities that allow them to fight people in higher realms and grades!

Derik's fear is just the after-effects of consuming a sin. It makes that strengthens the particular emotion, forcing the user to act irrationally in critical situations which most times lead to regret.  If he had only one, he wouldn't have hesitated to take it all in but all seven! It practically covers all the emotions a person can feel, making it more difficult for Derik to handle.

"If you want to return to the Gyro kingdom and subdue both the holy church and the royal family, you need this power… Kalos is not someone you can subdue easily… even if you and Cyrus should join hands, there's still a high possibility that none of you will survive the encounter!" Demos said in a stern voice.

"I understand…" Derik muttered as he considered the future and quickly agreed to it.

"Good kid… then you have to start now, training here is the only option" Demos said.

"Wait, what?... I thought you said this place will corrode my mind and body if I spend too much time here " Derik complained.

"Well… this is the only place where you can cultivate undisturbed… The outside world is not safe… You are wanted by everyone on this continent… I don't think it's a wise decision to make in this situation " Demos responded.

"Alright" Derik muttered.

Gyro kingdom capital, Royal palace

In the same royal courtyard where the team guardian was condemned a few years ago became the gathering place for those who feared the name, Derik Angus. Amongst them was the Gyro kingdoms ruler, Robert Gyro, his eldest son, Gerald Gyro and his little sister Anna Gyro. The surviving members of the Angus family were present, the kingdom guardian and then the formal members of the adventure a.s.sociation recruit team, Guardians.

"He survived after all this while he decides to show up in Cato and slaughters hundreds of people… even the lightning G.o.ddess of Cato, Zaylee was not spared… according to the reports, she had her throat ripped out… such a cruel death for an exquisite lady" Gerald said with a calm smile on his face.

"That kid is stronger than he was back then, at the bronze realm he could battle those a whole realm above… he single-handedly caused the deaths of thousands of prominent warriors of the various kingdoms! Now they say he left the hero of legend in Cato in a very bad condition before he left, this is a gold realm master we are talking about here! Someone meant to protect the continent from the incoming calamity!" Anna screamed in fear as she grabbed on to her severed arm. This reminded her of her short encounter with Derik after he got the treasures of the dungeon and even to this day she always s.h.i.+vered when she remembered that day. It was her first time in the field and things definitely did not go as smoothly as she expected.

"Considering the possibilities, Derik may end up returning here for vengeance…. With his current level of power, it won't be easy to subdue him, especially since he is yet to show the treasures he received from the dungeon, I cannot estimate his actual strength now… it will be difficult to deal with him now" Kalos finally spoke while rubbing his beards. He turned his attention and said

"Instead of plotting a kid with the infamous death magic, you should have tried to keep him in Gyro… he would have been a great a.s.set to the kingdom… You really messed up this time, Robert… when he returns, the royal family will be wiped out, I doubt his family will be spared!" Kalos said with a frown on his face

"No! that can't be true, Derik won't do that to us, Father tell them I am right, Derik won't harm us!" Linda seemed terrified

"I don't know little girl after he got that evil magic, he changed completely. If the great kingdom guardian says we won't be spared, then he must have a reason for saying that… By the way, we have wronged Derik when we testified against him publicly… while we have been living comfortable lives as n.o.bles, he has been running and fending for himself because of our mistake… we don't have the right to plead for his forgiveness, we will only accept any judgment he chooses to bestow upon us" John Angus said calmly with a bitter smile on his face. it seemed as if he has accepted his death already.

"Elder Kalos, please don't be like that… I know I made a terrible mistake but now is not the time to dwell in the past… we need to find a way to deal with this matter now… Are you trying to say that you cannot defeat that kid?" Robert was extremely polite while speaking to Kalos. No matter how dumb he was, he didn't need anyone to tell him that Kalos is the only reason why Gyro has not been invaded.

"If the kid should attack with his own strength at the moment, he will be tough to deal with but I am pretty sure I can put him down, but the treasures he received from the dungeon are the unknown factor…  I am not sure I can fight against something I don't know of, at least it won't be easy" Kalos responded with narrowed eyes

"Then we need to strengthen our defenses and wait for the arrival of the bringer of death… If Derik can escape the grasp of a gold realm elite with his life then I don't think any other force in this continent can hold him… not even the holy church… we need to always keep ourselves battle-ready and prepare our hearts for what is to come… there is no gain arguing over spilled milk…" A young man with dazzling snow-white eyes spoke. His golden hair has been cut short and his body had numerous divine magical patterns all over his body.

When Cyrus spoke, everyone remained silent and listened to what he had to say. The youth earned his fame the day he defeated Derik, the tyrant in a one on one fight. After which he returned to the kingdom and showcased his talent in so many fields. Even the royal family acknowledged his strength and put him as the leader of the new royal guards, together with the former members of the recruit team guardian.

While the others were currently stuck at the peak grade of the bronze realm which is already astonis.h.i.+ng, Cyrus has made his way to the low grade of the silver realm, only a step away from the mid-grade of the silver realm. Even Kalos acknowledged Cyrus' talent as a leader and his monstrous cultivation speed.

"If you hadn't let him escape that day, we won't be having these issues right now…" Anna Gyro snorted. She wouldn't forget how Cyrus stood there and watched Derik retreat into the accursed gate of the underworld without making any effort to stop him.

"My power was spent as well on that day… I couldn't risk my life by sending my divine guardian tool into the gates of the underworld… even the hero of the sun dared not follow Derik into the underworld and he is a gold realm master… I will not explain myself again on this matter Anna Gyro… Do not vex me" Cyrus said with a murderous glint in his eyes.

Seeing how serious life mage was, Anna could only take a few steps back and hide her face in shame. The people she use to look down on those days now throw curses at her whenever they feel like and since the Derik threat is still hovering over their heads, Robert dares not vex to any of the talented warriors and mages of the kingdom for her sake.

"Can you defeat him should he return this time?" Robert asked with his fingers crossed.

Cyrus was the one who defeated Derik the last time because of the natural weakness of the death element to the life element. If there is someone where who could alleviate the burden on Kalos' shoulders, it should be the person who defeated Derik before.

"If he has nothing else to hide, yes... I can… but the treasure of the dungeon is a factor we cannot overlook, I can't shake the feeling that Derik is hiding more" Cyrus said in a stern tone.

"And the nature mage Francis… if I'm not mistaking he has the nature guardian spirit on his side.. he will definitely serve this kingdom well on that day" Kalos said

"Francis has refused to move to the capital… he insists that the small town of Briton is his home and when Derik shows up, he will stand and defend it till the very end!" Kira said

Bam!

"He dares place the small town over the royal family? That man must be tired of living! Because he has reached the peak grade of the silver realm does not mean he cannot be touched!" Robert growled while slamming his fist on the armchair.

"Robert, behave!" Kalos roared

"You should be grateful he still chooses to stay in the kingdom or do you wish to go against him and make a new enemy today? Retrain yourself, child!" Kalos roared

Everyone fell silent upon hearing his words and dared not speak against him. Derik's sudden appearance shook the continent, striking fear in the hearts of the other three kingdoms that is yet to feel his wrath. No one knew where he is planning to show up next, all they know is that where ever he appears, only chaos and destruction will follow.
