39 Chapter 34: Contrac

The man really knows how to please me.

I looked at Cain and beamed at him. "Thank you."

"My pleasure..."

Not minding the weird atmosphere anymore, I quickly let myself be lost in the euphoria of foods in front of me. The tastes were beyond my imagination. I was like in seventh heaven.

However, my soul was ruthlessly pulled down back to earth when I noticed that I alone finished more than half of the food and Cain just leisurely sliced the meats and served them to me. Sometimes, he kept on adding rice to my plate. Other times, he would pour water into my gla.s.s.

I stopped and looked at him, "why aren't you eating?"

Cain gently smiled, and the whole room immediately turned a few degrees warmer. "Let me feed you first."

It was a good thing that I learned my lesson to stop eating in front of this man, or else… I would choke to death!

I gradually straightened my back and tapped a napkin on my lips.

"I'm almost full. You should eat." I urged, trying to brush off that uncomfortable feeling inside of me.

Fortunately, he didn't give me a hard time and began to eat, but still not forgetting to serve me food from time to time.

Like that, we finished breakfast, and the waiters immediately emptied our table and served us tea.

"….."

".…."

"How much do I owe you?" I asked, reaching for my wallet to pay my end of the meal.

"My treat," he answered simply.

"Oh, thank you," was all I could say.

The scene turned awkward once more.

Uncomfortable with the atmosphere and a feeling that something was not right, I immediately asked. "Can I sign the contract now?"

Cain looked at me for some time before reaching for his messenger bag to get a file and hand it to me.

I grabbed the file and read it thoroughly.

My set of unreasonable demands were still there complete from A to Z.

I didn't immediately sign it. I pretended to look at it some more, waiting for him to say something.

After a while it took one to empty a cup of tea, I raised my head to meet his gaze.

"Aren't you going to negotiate about my unreasonable demands?"

I couldn't stand the silence anymore and wanted this done and over with.

Cain leaned his back and leisurely crossed his legs, pretending to be confused, "why would I want to do that?"

You're telling me?!! Isn't this the whole point of this entire charade?! To get to my good side so you can negotiate with me?!!

I didn't answer.

I was confident enough to claim that I understood men, but the man in front of me was like a complex set of wirings inside a high technology robot.

I can't understand him at all!

Thinking that he would not negotiate anymore, I immediately signed my name on the papers and swiftly hand it back to him.
