73 Chapter 73: His Confession

There was nothing but romance in the air, it was a bliss to every woman's heart.

The poised man in an elegant black suit tenderly held the woman in white's hand, his eyes were filled with nothing but love and admiration. The color of their clothes contrast and yet, they made it so perfectly matched.

"It was me. I've been sending those letters to you." Ethan slowly explained.

"I have always admire you since the day I sat beside you on cla.s.s, the first time we met. I can still remember how smooth and elegant your voice was when you said 'hey'. With that simple utterance, I knew that my heart was s.n.a.t.c.hed by you."

Lillie can feel her heart skipped a beat, her cheeks flushed up to the ears. Her eyes has softened as she had them focused on the man that gently caressed her hands.

"But, I thought you hated me?" She finally asked the question she've held through the years.

"Hate you?" Ethan was dumbfounded. "How on Earth did my attempt of courting you became hate all of the sudden? I was practically sending love beams on your way back then." He let out an exasperate breath.

So, all this time, Lillie misunderstood.

"I...I overheard your conversation by the lockers. You were saying that you needed to beat me at everything. I a.s.sumed it was because you hate me and felt threatened. So, I did what first came into my mind and that was to fight." Her tone was soft, as if it was her who was wronged.

"I was talking to my father, asking him to hire more tutors for me to beat you..." Ethan's sentence slowly stopped, eyes glinted in realization. She did misunderstood. Anyone will, if they had not listened through the conversation completely.

"Oohh..." He expressed before laughing.

Lillie glared and said, "What seemed to make you laugh?"

"My dear, it appears that you did misunderstood me, immensely at that."

"How so?" She raised her eyebrow.

"I was indeed intending to beat you at everything, but not because of hate. It was because you are so good at everything, be it sports or in academic, also, your talents are limitless that I felt unworthy." Ethan confessed.

"I felt unworthy to stand by your side. That was why those letters were the only interaction I can send to you that tells you my feelings."

Hearing his sincere confession, Lillie suddenly felt like it was her who has wronged him. With downcast eyes, her heart ached for him.

"I'm sorry...for making you feel unworthy of me. I'm sorry for hating you. I'm sorry for being the cause of your heart ache. I—" Ethan cut her sentence by grabbing her hand, pulling her towards him and sealed her lips with his.

The dream he longed for was finally happening. Her lips became even sweeter and addicting. His heart was beating so fast, his face was red because of the intense joy he's feeling.

Finally, they had expressed themselves to one another.

Lillie did not pull away, instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened their kiss.

Her cold heart has melted, tremendously. Those feelings she had for him has blossomed into a new hope. Hope for love and a new beginning together.

Slowly pulling his lips from hers, he had the honor of watching how Lillie gasp for air. The expression she's making made his blood boil.

Closing their gap until their foreheads and noses touched, Ethan huskily said,

"I love you."

Her eyes were still clouded by vehement emotions yet the words she replied to was genuine,

"Je t'aime."
