Prologue

On the beach, a woman sat by the sandy stretch. She was distantly gazing to where the sun was setting westward. The sky was painted with lilac, tangerine and rose-tints.

Loneliness shrouded her tender face. Her exquisite eyes were mirrored with deep sorrow.

Ten years had already pa.s.sed since they came to know each other; but until now, the bitterness in her past was still apparent, never leaving her memory.

She could no longer stop the tears from falling which have been lingering on the edge of her eyes for a long time now. They ran through her rosy cheeks, over her tanned skin and finally fell into the sand. Unconsciously, she touched the hanging necklace on her neck.

It has been ten years since but everything was still as fresh in her memories. It was just like now, as the waves softly crashed to the sh.o.r.e and the sun languidly set in the west, she met―a water fay.
