Chapter 236 The Old Ones Iv : Revelations

When the Core universe was created, we settled here, and with out gift of prophecy and our immortal lives, we spread across the Core universe, waiting for the seven dragon kings to come and answer destiny's call. And now you're here for your own key.

Each of these keys, are tailored to a dragon, and it's king. The s.h.i.+eld for the soul, the intricacies behind it's creation or why a s.h.i.+eld has to represent a soul is lost to me, but o believe it was random, because earth was a little tired of riddles.

The humans discovered us, they discovered the s.h.i.+eld, and realized what it could do. As you would expect, their greed was a little to much for us to handle. We fascinated them; an immortal but yet still mortal race that could live forever, and had the key to traveling across universes. It was like giving them a manual to universal conquest.

They didn't care for our explanations, and tried to take the s.h.i.+eld by force. We protected it by covering it with our bodies, but the old ones, engineered from our own DNA, were able to channel our gift of prophecy into a petrifying gaze that trapped us in stone for a very long time.

However because they were made from our bodies, they felt drawn to our calling. Which is why they protected the case, and tested you to see if you were worthy of it. Eventually they discovered that the blood of Immortals, particularly those stuck between the cusp of life and death, had the power and ability to open gates to other dimensions. And to open a gate to a new universe a lot of blood and life would have to be sacrificed, an entire race worth of blood.

The War with the vampires was never initiated by the vampires, it was completely orchestrated by the human council of governors. They played all the races, and used the energy of this same s.h.i.+eld, to power a spell that created a mountain over the ancestral land of the vampires. And they trapped you all down here, it as prisoners, but as sheep to the slaughter.

But as soon as you claimed the s.h.i.+eld, the enchantment ended, and the mountains created by it's power would soon begin to fade. So you should prepare your people, because two week hence from today, you all shall be under the sun and the moon of Shearath once again. And completely exposed to your enemies.

And finally to answer your final question, giants don't wear clothes. We're naturalists."

"Right!"

Everything was one big conspiracy after another. Finding this out let me know that vampires aren't as blood thirsty or warmongering as everyone believes. But they're a lot more stupid than I imagined.

Vampires are know as one of the most conniving, scheming and backstabbing race, yet they were played until extinction became a real threat to them. I could not begin to imagine how sinister a mind had to be, to come up with a plot that imprisoned an entire race for six hundred thousand years. This was just insane.

"Once you're all free from the mountain on top of you, have your dragon lead you to me. Only they can find this place, and come along with the dragon queen of fire, I can feel her energy from here. You should leave now you majesty, I sense that life is about to be born anew, and the cries of the next generation would resound to the world today. Now go!"

He didn't even let me say anything as he led me towards the edge of what I now knew was a mountain peak. And right there was the same wooden door that brought me here in the first place. This elderly giant was also the only giant who actually talked to me. The rest just watched on with rather unsettling smiles on their faces.

He didn't let me look back as he opened the door and pushed me through it. And then it closed behind me with a bang, it took a while for my eyes to readjust to the darkness, but I was able to do so and saw the vampires waiting ahead with bated breaths. I looked up at them with a wide smile and said.

"The sealing Array has been destroyed. We're all free!"

"Yayyyyyyyy!"

Their voices were so loud that I was sure the entire tunnel shook in protest. They stomped their feet as they hugged each other. I was surprised by their reactions though, maybe because of only been a vampire for the better part of a year and six months, I didn't really know how much breaking the array meant to them. But either way seeing them happy was quite fulfilling.

I turned to look at the door, only to see a blank wall. There was nothing there, it was as if the tunnel came to an abrupt end. I moved towards the wall, and touched it a bit, trying to see if maybe it was just an illusion or some sort of ward, but nothing! It was just a wall.

The vampires behind me stopped celebrating as they also noticed the rather weird turn of events. But a door disappearing into thin air is the least of all the weird s.h.i.+t we've seen, so we were all able to just brush it off. After all there was nothing to be done about it, and we've accomplished what we came here for.

We all started marching back, our steps lighter and very much ready to face h.e.l.l and it's sea of lava again. Though some of us were worried, we knew we had pa.s.sed it without loosing a single soul before. Who's to say we won't be able to do it again.

But it wasn't until later that we realized there was no heat, just a very long tunnel with parts we don't remember pa.s.sing. More weird things were happening, but we were happy, so without a doubt, we won't be letting anything kill our spirits. And that's when we met the first door, but it didn't lead into h.e.l.l and back into another tunnel on the other side. The tunnel just continued to the other gate where Asare and the rest of the vampires were waiting.

There was a flash of fire beside me and Asare appeared beside me, worry etched allover his face as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Master Kael it's happening, you're needed back at the city!" he said his voice sounding frantic.

Now this was making me nervous, I didn't get what could be so bad, but the very thought of anything happening to Asha and Xaseah, left me feeling weak in the knees. But I was a leader, and I had to keep control of my emotions and solve my problem smartly. So placed my hands on his shoulder and asked him.

"Come on Asare, calm down and tell me what's wrong."

We had everyone's attention, and I was sure I'm not the only one who was now feeling worried. I hoped with all my heart that breaking the Sealing array did not have some sort backlash. Because if it did, I don't know what I would do, or how I'll be able to live with myself.

"its time Master Kael! Lady Asha is having the twins right now!"

It was like an explosion went of in my head. Everything blurred and the sounds faded, and I could hear nothing but my own rapidly racing heartbeat. And then Soren was there, transformed into his bike form, almost as if he could read and feel the urgency and anxiety within my heart.

BOOOOOM!

We left a sonic boom in our wake as we race past the tunnels and even unhesitatingly smashed through all of the gates we had put up in other to secure our exit or prevent someone from attacking us from behind. I went against every law of physics imaginable, I drove sideways on the tunnel, upside down and even on air.

In this few moments, I've reach new heights with my abilities that I could have never imagined. I didn't care who or what was in my way, I just smashed through, heading for Ethernalia Leonis with a single focus. I was scared, I really was. After all.....I'm about to become a father.
