2 Arrival

I appeared in a hill G.o.d-knows-where, overlooking a small town that looked much like those old towns from medieval history, but obviously different.

There were small hovering fires all over the field, and the town was well lit. Even though it was late at night, people were still working on the crops.

"Yeah. Definitely a magical world." I said, really not as surprised as I should have been, probably because I read too many Web Novels.

That was a fantastical sight, and I never imagined I would see a scene I have only read about with my own eyes.

I looked around and saw that the moon was to my left, and I guessed it was before midnight, so that direction should be east.

The town was right in front of me, to the south, and beyond was a mountain range.

To the east, there was the rest of the mountain range that ocuppied much of the view.

To the west there were plains and I couldn't gaze further, there were probably more towns and cities in that direction since it is unlikelly people would live in the mountains.

To the north there was a lake, probably people went there to fish.

After looking around I knew the superficial details of where I was, near a town of a mountainous region that probably dealt with mining, seeing the mountains that stretched far into the distance, this was probably the edge of this place, beyond the mountain range there was probably a new community.

Those were only guesses of course after quickly viewing my immediate surroundings, I could be wrong since I don't know much about this world.

"Well, you sure are something. I thought you would be at least a little surprised."

When I heard that familiar voice, I really got surprised and turned around.

Just like a few seconds ago, it was the same G.o.d with girl-ish features.

He had white hair and crimson eyes and really looked like something out of an anime, I didn't get to a.n.a.lyze his features before but now I finally realized this peculiarity.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

The G.o.d grinned and looked at me with a face that made a chill run down my spine.

"Why do you think a G.o.d would transmigrate someone on a whim? I want to watch you, of course!" He said matter-of-factly.

I looked at him and realized that made sense. If this G.o.d has personality, it would be dumb to a.s.sume he transmigrated someone for no reason.

But that didn't matter, at least I could get information out of him.

"Okay then... Where exactly am I?"

The G.o.d the looked around, exactly like I did before, and the faced me again.

"I have no idea."

When I heard him say that I had a sudden urge to punch him, but was able to keep my cool after I remembered the guy in front of me could blast me out of existence.

"YOU sent me here, how can you not know where we are?"I asked, raising my voice to vent some of my anger.

"I sent you here, but I used a randomized algorithm to do so. All I know is that in the near vicinity there are people of a race that won't immediately kill you, that speak a language much like English and that this is a world with magic. Everything else is randomized besides some things that are similar to your world so that you won't be too unfamiliar with everything, I have no idea where we are though."He said explaining the situation.

I was dumbfounded to see how lax this guy was with this. He literally dragged me out of my life to somewhere I have no information about just for funsies.

Now that I think about it… I think reading so many novels isn't all that good for me.

"Well then, that's fine. I'll discover things on my own."I said after calming down. "What did you give me after I transmigrated?"

Even if I know nothing about where I am, I should have at least received something to help me.

But that s.h.i.+tty G.o.d let me down again.

"If you are talking about a system, special powers, a secret element for magic or whatever. You have none. You are 100% like everyone else on this planet."He said grinning even more.

That was when I started panicking, my face was a mix of shock, fear, anger, and sadness.

While I was sh.e.l.lshocked the G.o.d in front of me was literally rolling around and laughing at me, it seems he thought it was funny to see my disappointment.

With my anger taking over I stomped my feet and walked away towards the town.

After I walked one kilometer, the town was still far away, I probably wouldn't arrive until dawn.

While walking, I noticed that even though I was tired, I wasn't as tired as I should be knowing my sedentary habits.

I then looked at my body and noticed that while I wasn't muscular, I wasn't weak either, it was like the years of eating potato chips and lazing around in a bad posture in front of the computer had been thrown out the window.

The G.o.d had already reached me a long time ago after he finished laughing, he had noticed I was checking my own body and said.

"After you transmigrated your body was synchronized to the parameters of this place and re-initialized. That doesn't make you stronger, but it gives you the ability to wield the magic of this world and restores your fitness to perfect health. At least for now, you are as healthy as you can be."He said, being weirdly cooperative for the first time.

I nodded and kept walking.

After walking for a long while and being covered in sweat, I reached the outskirts of the town just before dawn and saw the fields where people were finis.h.i.+ng their work.

I saw a boy that looked no older than thirteen and walked up to him.

"Hail my friend!"I said, trying to use a greeting I always wanted to use.

Right now, my clothes were not the same as they were before. They became clothes made of crude animal skin, they were brown and dirty, much different from the uniform I was using when I transmigrated. My clothes became this after the transmigration it seems.

"Greetings mister Scholar."The boy said bowing with a respectful expression.

It seems my clothes are probably like the ascetic scholars of this world… If they even exist that is. The boy could have just guessed because I was only dirty and not covered in s.h.i.+t working on a field like him.

At least he didn't think I was a King.

"Little one. Would you be so kind as to say what town is this one? I've been wandering and seem to have lost my direction as well as my belongings."I said with a smile and a kind expression, both of which seemed really forced and weird.

The boy was respectful even still.

"This is the town of Red Stone. The ruler is Lord Magus, Sir Angus of Red Stone, who is a baron of the Kingdom."

I nodded and asked again.

"Is there any post for someone such as me in this town?"

The boy nodded.

"Yes sir, Lord Magus needs a scribe to copy his tomes. Because this region is so remote, it is hard to find more people that know how to read and write, and people from larger towns refuse to come here."

I nodded and left towards the town again.

Reaching the town, I saw that there were many communal dwellings and few stores, most of the buildings had signs that were just images carved out of wood and none had any writing on them.

I was a little afraid since even though the spoken language was English, there was no guarantee for the written one.

But reaching the center of the town I sighed in relief.

There was a plaque with a coat of arms painted on it and words written in normal English that read: "Red Stone Household".

The words were exquisitely carved and looked like a piece of art, not that I would be able to tell it's value, it just looked pretty.

There were two guards with spears in front of the iron gate, one of them took a step forward when I approached and yelled.

"Halt! Who goes there?!"

I stopped after hearing his warning.

Taking a deep breath I said.

"My Name is Kyle, I am a scholar that seeks the position as the scribe of this household."
